the deviance crack is a fixed exe file! it's not a no-cd..

the nocd was released by grimsprus

i have the immersion fixed exe file which works as well..

i first experienced the prob, then copied the dirs -> this got it working!

Yes, you MUST copy the above listed folders (it's explained in the NFO file supplied with the fix also) to the install directory for the gimps r us fix to work. The documentation for the game states that the game uses an incremental install method (page 4 of the "install guide" in bold text), where it only installs pieces as needed. Kinda weird, but that explains the hiccups in the game, especially if you have a slow CDROM drive. Once I copied the folders and used the fix, it ran alot smoother and loaded up MUCH more quickly.

I'll leave that gimps r us file in the link in my previous post until I need the space back. I only have 2megs of webspace. I don't THINK I have a download limit.

Well, I downloaded the "grunfshp2cd" rar file above twice, but neither WinRar or Win Ace will open the file. Can anyone help or post a WinZip version (that allways works)? I have the latest version of WinRar and Win Ace but I get a "CRC" error saying the file could not be extracted properly.

Only one problem with the no CD trick. Since I installed all the files from the CD required and replaced the exe file, there are no more helecopters or road blocks in races with the cops. I tried putting the original exe back in and using the CD again but still no helecopters with flash bombs anymore. Bummer. I will have to reinstall to get it to work right again I guess.

Any fix for this yet or has anyone else noticed this?

I have 2 computers in a LAN. I've purchased one copy of the game and have installed it on both machines. I've applied the NO-CD patch and it works great on both. Now here's the problem: If me and a buddy try to connect to the same server online I'm able to get in fine and he get's an "Invalid CD Key" error message. Is there anyway to bypass this so we can race on the same server?

Yeah forgot to mention that it was a Fixed Exe.

The fix is now available through the "news" section of GCW, I' m removing it from my site now.

I've noticed that the european links DO work for this NoCD fix.

It almost NEVER happens that all the mirrors are down. For example at this exact moment for the 242 nocd on GCW, these mirrors WORK : Europe 1, 2 and 3, North America 1, 2 and 4. Try one of those for your file. So SIX of NINE mirrors work, try better next time instead of assuming that NINE mirrors all at once don't work. Also don't forget to disable any download managers like getright or go!zilla, some servers don't like them.
