no CD crack won't work, why?

I have tried three different no CD cracks, but still won't work. I can go into the game, but whenever I start game (single and MP), there's a message asking for puting a CD into the CD ROM.

Why???

Eclipz 20-09-2002 15:34

erm... perhaps invalid cd-key?

Noobie 20-09-2002 15:51

When you join a server your executable CRC is checked
try installing
Battlefield_1942_1.1_Private_Server_Patch-FLTDOX
and then
Battlefield_1942_1.1_Private_Server_Play_NoCD_Patc h-gimpsRus

Then you can do everything just fine
(you need a valid key on all servers but hacked servers of course)

VoD or Noobie, I don't understand how this NoCD trick works. I bought BF1942 so I have a key and all... I tried replacing BF1942's EXE with those two cracks you suggest, but they don't work (server disconnects). Why do you say to use two different crack EXEs when you're just going to be using one? What am I missing? Those cracks you suggest are just replacement EXEs, is there supposed to be something else? This trick is supposed to work on non-cracked servers, right?

Ya it works are u using winrar to extract them? if not get it at www.winrar.com then make sure u extract them in the order above

check other bf threads..!

u need to install all the dox - 1.1 update + 1.1 cracked server + 1.1 cracked server no-cd

Noobie 22-09-2002 05:01

Well actually the idea is very easy. On connection BF:1942 does a CRC check on BF1942.exe in your Battlefield 1942 installation directory and sends this to the server. If the CRC Check does not match with what the server expects (for example you are using a cracked exe), then the server will disconnect you.

What the private server play patch does, is put a cracked BF1942.exe and *original* BF1942.org in your battlefield dir.
Now the code is patched so that the CRC check of BF1942.org is sent so you will be accepted by the server.

However the private server play patch by FLTDOX isn't cracked for no-cd. Thats what the gimpsRus server play no-cd does. That archive only includes a new bf1942.exe (which is also no-cd'd), so you will still need the bf1942.org from the FLTDOX update.

So to summarize:

Install BF:1942
Update to 1.1 ( download )
Install the FLTDOX Private Server play Patch ( download)
Install the server play no-cd ( download )
Thats all :)

Noobie's answer above DOES work. Just follow his instructions and you'll be able to play with no cd. You ofcourse still need your unique serial key to be able to connect to all servers, but it seems that this combination also allows you to host cracked servers and allow people without a valid serial key to connect to those cracked servers. These 'cracked' servers usually have a hint in their name like 'FLT' or 'cracked' and they don't check your key. I looked at the number of those servers and it looks like a 1 in 20 ratio. If these people actually would buy the game they would be able to choose from 20x the number of servers, very important with the number of badly run servers out there. Ah well, it's their choice :D

Maybe we just have a multi pc home and maybe we just want to play LAN, and maybe we dont feel like spending $200.00 to do this. One friggen copy should be enough.

OrEoZ 22-09-2002 14:49

nice work noobie!

i couldn't explain it better! :D

RincewindTheWiz 23-09-2002 13:15

woody173 : I'm not attacking anyone, I too find having to buy additional copies for lan play a bit too much. I was talking about people using the warez version and running their own internet servers. And yes this private server patch also works for lan play.

Ok im having a hard ass time of getting this thing to work..let me know what im doing wrong.

1.) Installed Game
2.) Patched to 1.1
3.) Copied the exe, org file and gamespy.dll from fltdox to main
Battlefield dir. Plus I copied the dll over to multiplay server dir.
4.) Copied the exe from grub over fltdox's exe.
5.) Tried to play on a two different cracked servers and they both
disconnected me. I also used fltdox's cd keygen.

Any ideas? Thank you.

Henry The Red 24-09-2002 05:40

Ok well I've been tring for the past couple of hours and I can get connected to about 2 of 5 servers I've found that are cracked. The other three give me the server disconnected message..I can only assume that it's not me. My friend downloaded everything to run a private server and he put everything in the right place..but I get the that disconnected message..any thoughts?

won't work for the LAN

I had followed the procedure as above. It work on the single player perfectly...no CD game play. However, whenever I'm trying to creat a LAN game, it will close the game by itself during the loading and back to the windows.

Does anyone has the same problem on creating LAN game?

Thanks in advance
