Princo

I just bought a pioneer dvdr a04 on ebay and i was looking for which media to buy (cheap that is).

Sorry if this was answered already (I did a search) but I got lots of mixed mesages.

1. Will princo dvdr's work fine with the a04? Some say they do some say they don't. All over ebay they say they do so I dont know.

2. If it does work will a low quality dvdr ruin my ps2 laser?

Tnx

I beleive Charlie_PS2 and Dust2Dust both have used Princo DVD-R's...... From what I have heard they are pretty good media..... I think Dust said the only problem he had was with Princo CD-R's (not DVD-R's) in his a04.....

I have been using that media for a while now mainly on dvd movie and its work great on my a03.Never use it on my ps2 back up.It should be ok on your a04 depanding on what u using for.
If u r in u.k than try the new media call generation 4.I been using this media for my ps2 and i never had a problem with it.Beside it just cost around £1.00 per disc

Princo is decent. You may have problems if you write on them. They are very delicate discs.

Im talking about the dvd-r's, I have never used the cdr's.

Tyler have u been trying the princo media on ps2 game and if u did what is the outcome??
Cheer!!

TylerDurden 29-08-2002 19:09

I have tried it a few months back. I would give it about an 80% working rate.

Not bad for 80%working rate.I might try it myself one day.
Currently I have been using Traxdata or the new generation 4 media and I give them 99% working rate.
I quiet like the new generation4 media because u can either get it on printable surface with work out around £1.25 per disc or u can get on normal dvd-r around £1.00

Nice. ;)

I use Apple dvd-r's or Princo dvd-r's for ps2 back ups, and I have yet to run into any performance troubles

andex 29-08-2002 20:13

Good!!I will definitely give it a try.

Most of the media nowadays r quiet good. Is only the unbrand media that give a bad name to the media. They r crap!!!

will do once i find out whats wrong with my ps2

dust2dust 30-08-2002 02:31

princo dvdr r good as long as laser is good
if u suspect your lase to b bit old v4 or older i recommend u use traxdata or white label (both gen 3) 100% working rate even on v3 with real shit laser

traxdat £1.09 disk white label 0.89p

if u got v5 or newer chioces 2x media @£1.09 is cheap and fast to write

problem i had with princo and ao4 was with princo cdr
this since been fixed i think it was just 1 batch
next batch my m8 bought()he has use them his standalone sony wont read cdr
but it will read princo cdr
xbox not read cdr pop princo in it reads
(because of this fact princo r being taken to court and its illegal to sell princo cdr in uk at moment :(

princo cdr and dvdr works fine in the ao4
