what software is best for ps2 burning

I have a dvd burner and prassi, but i was wondering if this is the best reliable software to burn ps2 games? Cause i heard(but dont think its true) that prassi is more suitable for xbox games instead. If prassi is more reliable, could someone tell me the steps on how to burn the games. And also which type of blank dvd-r are gauranteed to play on the ps2? i bought some unbranded dvd-r, but i think i made a mistake on buying these.

Unbranded DVD-R's are .50% shot of working..Get yourself a TDK or Verbatim..Not everybody agrees on this but overall TDK or Verbatim is the Best..
Also Prassi is an excellent program for PS2 DVD format games..
For Cd format games Clone CD is the Best..
For Xbox Prassi is good as well..

Forgot to mention that check ps2ownz dot com look under tutorial for DVD-R..That will solve your needs..
Next time I'm gonna start reading fully before posting twice on a thread..

I have used both Prassi and Nero to back up ps2 dvd games with no problems with either.
I burnt them onto Traxdata purple disks costing about £2.30P a disk which is good value for a reasonable quality medium.
Another well known tutorial site is to be found at
www.psxcopyworld.co.uk.
You can download from there as well.

Disc Juggler works well for DVD based PS2 games as well.

thanx guys for the help..as it is really appreciated cause other wise i would of made many more mistakes buying unbranded media and so forth. I guess all that is left for me to do is burn those little rascals and enjoy gaming bliss. Let the burning begin...haha

p.s. where could i get the software that patches EA Games to boot up on the ps2?

and thanx again for the help guys!!!

A basic EA patcher that works for most games is LAPS2 patcher. It is quickly getting outdated but has been able to detect a lot of games that needed patching, and patch them.

Its no problem man. If you can copy games with CloneCD then you wont need an EA patch. Otherwise you will have to patch them. Some mods have an EA boot method maybe thats what you are using.

I really want to underline Tyler's advice. CloneCD allows patch free CD-R booting of EA games and any other protected game.

the only requirement is that your CD-RW is DAO-RAW+96 compatible. This can be checked in the tables on www.elby.com and if your burner is not so compatible, it is worth buying one that is if you are into CD games big time.

Likewise a Pioneer A04 for DVD-R burning is more or less a must with PrimoDVD software for 1:1 DVD copies of PS2 games. But please note that there are no DVD-R burners of which I know that are CD DAO-RAW+96 compatible.

Hey Charlie, for dvd recording you should try STOMP Record Now Max. It is made by Veritas (just like the old Prassi was).

The new things are,

1. It has a wizard that will take you step by step through the copy process of any disc, including ps2 dvd.

2. It also has a nicer interface that is easy to work with.

I suggest you try it out. Im thinkin you will start pushing it more than Prassi. Also all the updates for Prassi work with it, like the update that allows people without NTFS to backup large gigabyte files.
