GTA 3 - Requesting CD 2/No Sound "Solution"
Well after reading all the messages about people having issues with GTA 3 prompting for Disc 2, nothing fixed my problem apart from the deviance fix which uses the b-loader.exe file. However this caused no sound in the game itself.
So i presume the b-loader.exe forces gta3 to not detect the sound card, so i tried the myth patch file and this seemed to take longer to load but still asked me to insert disc 2 (bearing in mind i have already copied the contents of disc 2 to the gta folder. I then checked all the files within the Audio folder and found that 5 of the files are currupt (arghhhhh). So by duplicating one of the working ones and renaming them as the currupt files. Hay presto i can now run GTA3.exe with no problems. Well, it worked for me!! The Crack i used was mytgtafx.zip. |
Do you remember the files that are corrupt? Once that is done then do I need to use the b-loader to run the game?
Thanks a lot. |
Help!
my GTA is taking 461 MB is that full install? but anyway i only got 2 files in my audio folder
sfx.RAW sfx.SDT am i missing some files? and i Downloaded the mytgtafx crack! but i still get the Disk2 message!!! HELP! |
Mine takes over 900mb because of the audio files copied off disc 2 for faster loading. But my sound won't work untill I find the corrupted files.
To run the game, get a file from gamecopyworld.com called b-loader.exe . Find it within the GTA3 cracks and its under one of them. That should boot the game. |
Which of the files were corrupt, how did you check this? I've coppied the contents of my audio folder on the cd to the audio folder and it still won't give me audio, and the myth patch still asks for disk 2. Any ideas?
|
Could you please email this crackfix of Deviance to me? When I download it from Gamecopyworld.com it doesn't work. It says the file is corrupt. I need the b-loader.exe file.
email: jtklaassen**********com |
hellburger, you can test your audio files to see if they're corrupted by just doubleclicking them. if they're ok, your media player should come up and you'll hear some sound. if they're corrupted, you'll get an error message. (the message i got on the 4 of mine that were corrupted was "cycle redundancy error"...
genty, those cracks on gamecopyworld are comming up bad for you because you have an older winrar. goto download.com and download the newest version of winrar. (3.0) |
My computer won't play any of these files. Winamp just skips the file and Windows media player just says it doesn't support this format. So can someone please tell me the corrupt files or do I have all corrupt files?
Thanks |
Hey, Just an update for all who are interested..... while this isn't a fix for the sound (as I haven't figured that out myself) I do know game fix that will work for any crack. Those two files mentioned above(sfx.raw & sfx.sdt) must be removed from audio directory. After this is done you can run the game without cd with any patch.
|
have yall checked to see if you get sound when you play with cd2 in the drive?
|
i keep reading all these posts about people having difficulties getting GTA3 to run correctly, i must be the luckiest bloke in the world cos i got my backup discs to run first go !
all i did was the following : 1. install cd in burner ( HP8000+) use clony XXL 2. comes up SDV2.51 3. fast error only should be ticked on the read settings 4. the fast error settings were 3 retries and NONE 5. read at 2x speed 6. same as above for the PLAY cd 7. installed the INSTALL cd.......figures , hehe ! 8. took the audio folder from the PLAY cd and installed it in the GTA3 game folder 9. extracted the GTA3 NO-CD version 1.0 CRACK into the GTA3 folder. 10. make sure the PLAY cd is in your drive and PLAY THE GAME ! personally, i think this is better than the PS2 version. winxp pro AMD DURON 800 320mb ram TNT2 pro 32mb hewlett packard 8000+ cd writer :D PS i burned the discs at 2x speed |
Hi guys, _I_ created "empty" WAV and MP3 files (about 300 Kbytes altogether), put them into the AUDIO directory. And, hey, I got rid of several hundreds of Megs of irrelevant audio and the game is still working (no "gimme CD 2" messages displayed).

Still No Sound! Please Help
I copied all of the audio files from the CD to the audio folder in the game's directory. When I use the b-loader I get no sound what so ever in the game.
I did like you said and checked all of the files for corruption but they are all working fine. I got sound on all of them and no errors. Can anyone please tell me why I still have no sound? Thanks, Big Roy |
RE: Kevinandperry
Hey Kevin,
I have a question for you. I saw that you were using a Duron 800, 320mb ram, and TNT 2 card and XP pro. I have a P4 1.4Ghz, 256mb ram, and also have a TNT2 card and XP pro. My problem is that the game runs exremely slow. I'm running it at the lowest resolution possible and I've turned off the frame sync, trails, and have lowered the draw distance quite a bit. The game is still slow. Sometimes it starts off at a decent speed then gets slower. I have closed all the applications and there aren't any running in the background. I thought it might have something to do with it having to continuously read the sound from the CD which is just whirring away under my desk as I play. That is why i came to this thread. I'm trying to get the NO-CD working so I can find out if that is what is causing the slowness in the game. Any Ideas? Thanks, Big Roy |
hey sup every1
so im getting no sound also with the bloader , and i dont reallly know how to check if the sound files are corrupted or not would it work if i just reinstall all the audio files again?? |
@bigroy1231
It runs incredibly slow for me too. 900Mhz Duron, Nvidia 32Mb TNT2, 384Mb RAM, XP Pro. It's way too slow to play for me - my setup should be able to handle it - I'm gonna defragment soon to see if that helps. |
im having problems with the game playing slowly too....dunno if its winxp pro causing the problem or maybe the 32 meg video card cant handle the pace.
as ghost says, it may be worth running a defrag and may be worth freeing up as much memory as possible by deleting anything thats taking up memory space such as temp internet files, unplayed games etc. our systems here should be able to cope with this game but i still reckon a better spec video card maybe needed to run this one. bloody computers !......lol |
Ghosthacker,
Let me know if that helps at all. I read that same thing on their support page about defragging. That's the best thing they could come up with!?!?! That's lame. The recommended system requirements that they advertise on the game are rediculously low. And we all know they only do it to sell the game. They don't care how slow it runs after we've bought it. They should advertise that you need a mega computer that costs $5,000 as the recommended system requirements. God, I play games like Return to castle wolfenstein on this same PC without it ever slowing down. What kind of freakin engine did they use to create this game. It's really crappy if you ask me. Oh Well... Roy |
I also tried this game on a PC with:
Athlon 800 192 MB RAM Win 2K Pro Elsa Erazor X (Geforce 256) Still slow! WTF Rockstar? |
First time i started GTA3 it was also very very slow.
I've defrag my HD but that wasn't the solution. After i installed the newest NVidia Detonator XP (Date: 09.MAR.2002) the game runs in full speed !!! My GraphicCard is a ASUS V7700 Series with NVidia GForce2 GTS deluxe. |
I upgraded my drivers to the most recent which is the one take2's support recommends.
That didn't change anything. I guess I need to go buy a GForce 2 or 3, eh? |
For everyone who still isn't getting sound after replaceing the corrupt audio files. Try just clicking on the GTA3.exe instead of the b-loader. I think the b-loader just tells it their is no sound hardware so it doesn't check and find the corrupt audio files. Not sure though but it's worth a try.
|
I'm not having any slowdown (P4 1700, 512 MB PB 2100 RAM, GeoForce 3 ti 500) but can't for the life of me get the no-cd to work..the same old "insert disc 2error"
I've copied all the audio files and none are corrupt. I'm using the myth no cd. Guess I should get on with playing but I hate having to keep getting the disc out of the drawer. And to date I'v got No CDs for all my games that work fine (oh, ecept for Hidden & Dangerous Deluxe 1.5) Guess I just don't want to admit defeat, so can anyone help ? |
First try a recently released crack .exe . If that doesn't work then try the b-loader which I told everyone about a couple of posts ago. But you may not get sound with the b-loader.
|
Is there a wy to use a blood patch and a nocd crack together?
|
Hey can someone please email this crack to me at [email protected]
|
Why is GTA 3 So slow
Most people with a fast system don'y know why the game is slow.
It's very easy. Because there is a REPLAY function. So the game must remember what you did. That's why this game is very slow on a normal good system. If there wasn't the replay function. Then you normaly could play it on a 1Ghz,256MB-SDRAM with a GeForce 2 (no MX)(best Geforce 3/4 or Ati 8500 or higher like the 9000 and 9700). And would somebody be sow friendly to just give a download link of a working GTA3 crack, so noboby must ask to send the Crack to hem? Thanks by Authorized Dealer |
About no cd patch
I am playing GTA 3 without cd...and I have no sound problem or anything else..but i dunno about blood patch..
|
HMMMM...
I remember when I installed GTA 3 before, I had no problems at all. I just copied the play cd to my hard drive, burned its contents with a file called nocdsetup.exe then installed, after that I ran nocdsetup.exe . I think I got the crack from megagames or gamefix. Just to let you know.
Oh yeah, the crack automatically copies the audio folder to the hard drive. |
