CloneCD

My CloneCD 4 , does not seem to be automaticly programed by ClonyXXL, Any clue, Trying to back up my Playstation 1 games. When copied, the playstation game shows up as no cd or insert cd. Any suggestion? Thanks

themis_t 21-05-2002 13:39

did you copy it on a cdr or on a cdrw?

rcowens1966 21-05-2002 15:40

cdr / cdrw

I used a sm-308beb cdr, with the same outcome as my LG GCE 8320B cdrw... Both, had the same outcome of asking to insert cd when I try to boot them up.

:(

i think he meant what type of cd cdr/cdrw

rcowens1966 22-05-2002 00:49

cdr/cdrw

Oh,,,..... I see said the blind man as he ran into the wall....

I feel dumb... I used a cdrw. should that make a difference... ???

podunkviller 22-05-2002 01:03

use cd-r's, and make sure u have a mod chip ;)

rcowens1966 22-05-2002 01:37

cdr's

Ok, now I am going to show my ingnorance, what is a mod chip? I have cdr's, but what is a mod chip???

Thanks for the help podunkviller, I know I made you mad earlier...

It won't happen again.

I see your point.

;)

DeanI 22-05-2002 02:39

you have got to be joking

a mod-chip lets you play your backups because no cd burner can write boot sectors and a mod chip by passes the check

rcowens1966 22-05-2002 02:47

mod chip...

sorry, How do I get one??? I did not know that... Will the psx play a back up?

:(

DeanI 22-05-2002 02:50

try www.modchips.com

gh0sth@cker 22-05-2002 10:27

LMAO -
mod chip = essential

sorry but i had to laff. :p

packer 22-05-2002 12:14

some games don't need a modchip

themis_t 22-05-2002 14:11

but most of them need!and there are some others that can detect if there is a mod...i had a bought a mod in 1998 when i bought my psx and still works fine no probs never occured!!!!!!!!

rcowens1966 23-05-2002 04:07

mod chip/boot disc

which works best a mod chip or a boot disc?

;)

podunkviller 23-05-2002 08:23

all games require a mod chip, or something that functions the same way as a mod chip, in order to let the system read the boot sectors. anyways, charlieps2 and dust2dust are 10x better than us hosers, go post in the ps2 forum

gh0sth@cker 23-05-2002 11:12

Modchip is better.
I tried a boot disk but couldn't get it to work = unreliable.

themis_t 23-05-2002 13:15

modchips were always better!!!!!!!
