Make the game bypass the check for ClonyXXL ... How ??

I have found here a link for ClonyXXL... The problem is that the game detects that there is a debugger running !! :(

Sighhh ! What should I do now ?

Thanx!

Tatjahna

podunkviller 02-05-2002 09:38

uninstall whatever protection emulator you have installed.

Tatjahna 02-05-2002 09:42

Erm....

I don't want to uninstall it.. ;) I am running it to test what protection the game use, but when starting the game (as ClonyXXL asks me), the game don't want to start because of it! So ClonyXXL isn't able to check the protection on the CD !!

Thanx for your reply all !!

Tatjahna

podunkviller 02-05-2002 09:46

clony is not an emulator. you have a program like daemon tools installed, which is blacklisted by safedisc 2. once you 'unload the debugger' (the emulating program), it will run lickety split

Tatjahna 02-05-2002 10:34

Ok I have uninstalled some software that would probably be debuggers, but it didn't did the trick.. (have a bunch of tools for dvd and vcds)

Anyway, I have found the protection (Safedisc 2.51), but I cannot do nothing with the rebuilder :( The error says kind of "stxt774 api jmp thingy error, get in touch with me" -> same thing... close your debugger right ?

I have PE Explorer... could that be the problem ? I have uninstalled a lot of needed stuff.. I don't want to format my drive to make it working !!!! :(

Re-Thanx!

Tatjahna

Tatjahna 02-05-2002 14:10

Any list of products....

... That are blacklisted by SafeDisc ?

I really cannot see what damned proggy causes this msgbox :(

( A debugger was detected, blah blah blah... )

Thanx for your help !!!

Tatjahna 03-05-2002 07:03

Thanx for your reply... By the way, I have none of them..

I have some tools still installed on my system that didn't required any installation.. I made a trainer and used TSearch. I have W32dasm, but any of them has been "installed" on the machine. I have uninstalled SmartCheck, Hacker 2.0, etc.. :(

No success, have reboot and still have this msgbox!

Thanx!

themis_t 03-05-2002 14:08

hey, hey, hey,my dear little girl...i can't understand how nobody here told you that before..you are using the wrong version of unsafedisk...there is not anyunsafedisk version for safedisk 2,51 and it can be copied perfectly only by certain burners and by the use of clony and clone cd....anyway,w32dasm is 1 more debug program...just for you to know it but..i can't still get your situation clearly...please make it clear as the summer sky...

There is now thanks to CirCutz and waste_me Click Here

BTW: It's the 2nd rebuilder (2_51_Rebuilder.EXE) that has had the most success

Tatjahna 03-05-2002 14:40

Little girl ? GRRRR.. !!! ;)

Well... okay.. (sorry I usually speaks french so I will try to build clearly my sentences...)

The debuggers/disassemblers that lefts on my computer are now : W32Dasm, TSearch, Hiew ... Thoses don't have installation procedures... So I can't believe that SafeDisc scans all of my 3 drives to see that in a kinda weird directory there is a file name w32dasm.exe !! No ?

I had HexWorkshop too but I have uninstalled it... But anyway, now I know that there is a proggy detected as debugger on my computer 'caus I have installed the game on my boyfriend's computer and no problem ( just the no-cd msgbox ).

My "new" problem, is trying to apply the update patch... I have post a message about that few messages down this forum... A resume ? A message telling that "Old file not found.. A file with the same name was found but blah blah blah" I have read about that message on a HOMM4 fans site, I have read that this message comes when you 1- don't have the right region patch and 2- when you have a cracked copy.

So if I put the pieces of the puzzle in place, it's probably that my burned cds aren't good... ? I have used Clone CD... Anyway, I will redo the backups trying to following suggested tips and advice...

Thanx for your reply themis_t !!

Tatjahna 03-05-2002 15:08

gh0sth@cker, it's the one that I have used :)

I have run it on my boyfriend's computer and that worked great :)

Thanx

themis_t 05-05-2002 12:30

i just yesterday saw the new unsafedisk version...you know this is great...anyway,happy easter to all!!

packer 05-05-2002 14:08

Easter has passed hasn't it?

oh and Tatjahna , i can understand frech and speak quite a bit so you can also state some stuff in frecnh if you can't explain in English!

themis_t 06-05-2002 14:34

you know...all greek men are a bit crazy.....they keep saying that even when easter has passed....:D :p

emptyeighty 06-05-2002 14:57

German is also fine... Were multicultural!

Meaby some of the uninstall routines of your debuggers didnt work right and left some stuff in the registry. Try searching by hand, but that is like seeking the needle in the haystack.
Meaby if you install and uninstall the proggys again they might uninstall right and remove all the registry entries.

themis_t 07-05-2002 13:38

kind of really risky.........

noyb1 08-05-2002 09:48

@Tatjahna,

Try a tool called RegCleaner, download it here.

It will work under Win9x, WinME, WinNT, Win2k and WinXP.

It will run a scan of the register and show, among other things, register keys linked to non existing programs, files, etc. It's a free prog and non invasive, it has proven itself reasonably useful to me in the past.

If, it works out for you, it will save you a lot of time versus a manual search.

Make sure to run the register scan on MANUAL and NOT auto mode, also make sure and have it make backups of any reg keys you remove, so you can restore the keys if necessary, that is the default, if I recall correctly, but just double check the settings before running it.

Good luck.

crispy 08-05-2002 11:14

Another option is to run Frogsice.

This should give you a log file telling you what searchs your game is making for a debugger.

If you 100% sure there isn't any lingering files, dll's, etc left over from uninstaling.

I would hazard a guess that SmartCheck is the culprit so try...

1. there is also a known detection for SC by searching for the 'smrtchck.tsf' file in c:\%windir%, rename this file and it will destroy that detection

2. checking the SChck registry entries which store the last opened files in your registry. Remove these as well.

It wouldn't be the first time that an uninstalled program left loads of crap lying around.

Good luck

themis_t 08-05-2002 15:54

i am sure about this!!!!!!!!!!!

packer 09-05-2002 06:50

oh

themis_t 09-05-2002 15:11

yes,i do.....

packer 10-05-2002 12:23

huh?

themis_t 10-05-2002 15:54

i am sure that everything we uninstall just doesnt take everything out!!!!!!!!!

Tatjahna 10-05-2002 23:44

Thanx a lot guys!!

I will try right now the regcleaner... let me check a second...

RegCleaner seems to didn't do the trick for me... :( Could someone tell me where to find frogsice ?

Thanx again!

p.s. Packer : "Criss de côlisse, il marche jamais comme il faut ce putain d'ordi là !! " <-- Did you understand something? :D

packer 11-05-2002 02:41

Criss de côlisse don't know what that means and i don;t know what putain means, it sonds like the swearword i know is it?

themis_t 11-05-2002 13:27

i know it has nothing to do with the section and the topic but....does anybody know of a programm that can scan my pc for any backdoor programs?i have heard that many programs who are supposed to do that they don't scan but install the programmm...i need of a safe and sure 1.....

Tatjahna 11-05-2002 16:13

packer .. Hehehe !

It's a kind of "Jesus Christ!" but it's much more worst! And putain is "b*tch" ;) ... So it looks like that ... "Jesus Christ, this damned computer never works as it would!"

Themis_t : Not sure but BlackIce defender seems to be liked, to protect your computer.

emptyeighty 12-05-2002 06:46

Ad-Aware gets rid of Adware Trojans.
Anti-Trojan finds and removes 7000 Trojans but its only 14-day shareware.

Thanlks :D:D:D

themis_t 12-05-2002 13:56

i have ad aware....but are you sure about anti trojan.....there are anti bakofice programs that install back ofice .....

gh0sth@cker 12-05-2002 14:59

If you've a good anti-virus then they'll pick up BO2K if it's trying to install.

Offiicially BO2K is a "remote network tool" LOL. Ah, the fun it provided, hehe.

themis_t 13-05-2002 06:52

i have mcafee and i check everyday for new patches......i have benn told that it is the best antivirus and i also read it to a pc magazine.......it's cool knowing that you have a good protection.....

podunkviller 13-05-2002 13:18

i gave up on virus protections. they seem too alarmist for me.

themis_t 14-05-2002 13:39

ok....but i am too interested in those......

Can Bill Gates and Micro$oft be trusted - I think not. Use Zonealarm or BlackIce Defender.

BTW: A good program to get is XP Anti-spy - stops things being sent to M$ and a few other things as well.

packer 19-05-2002 11:33

where could i get this XP anti-spy? what do think of Zonealarm. i have heard many conflicting reports on it.

gh0sth@cker 19-05-2002 12:53

Google it by clicking here

Or go here

Personnally I have no problems with Zonealarm - it sits in the background and does it's job and doesn't bother me. I tried out Norton Personnal Firewall but I didn't like it much (or it was causing probems, I can't remember).

packer 19-05-2002 13:27

thankls

themis_t 20-05-2002 13:52

i had mcafee firewall bnut i had too many probs with it so i uninstalled it!
