Just my luck....help please.
 

Now that the ace file problem is fixed, seems that I've encountered a new one. Downloaded the file, replaced the original with the cracked .exe ( Hidden & Dangerous Deluxe English v 1.50 ) and when I try to play it, this message pops up:

The game was installed from CD-ROM drive D:.
This CD-ROM drive cannot be found. Please re-install from valid CD-ROM drive. The game will now exit.

The game runs fine before I apply the crack. I only have one CD-ROM drive on my pc ( Windows ME ) and it is labelled as D:. Any ideas anyone?

its a problem with the install path. there is probably a registry entry that points to d drive.....if you find it and change it to C, you should be fine. im not sure where exactly it would be though, good luck. maybe there is a registry fix already here.

go run and type regedit the go local machine then software and look for the folder


eg. maxis/sims

i don't see how hard it could be.

1. Click on "start"
2. click on "run"
3. type "regedit" ( without the ")
4. u should now be in the registry editor, hold CTRL+F
5. search for hidden and dangerous or see if u can find this HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Lonely Cat Games\Hidden and Dangerous Deluxe\1.50 (Install source dir=C:\Program Files\Take2\Hidden and Dangerous Deluxe\) *note* that what's in the bracket won't be the same, but that's what u will change the one in u'r registry.

Guess I'll have to stick to the cd, till somebody show me the light.

Meaby you need to copy some files from CD to HD.

Hmm....maybe. It's just that it's weird why I can't get this stuff to work while other people can. I don't know where I did wrong...

Try a reinstall, check version, check crack version, read instructions up and down, again and again...
If it worked for others it has to work for you.

have u also tried using different cracK?
see if u can get another crack and try that. It's always just a simple thing, perhaps u r overlooking something.

Yep, im positive on that.

Got another crack patch from GCW. Still need to modify the registry like before only this time it works. Anyway, thanks y'all for helping.
