Ok, download Clone CD
If you decide to download the 4th version, then just tell the program that it's a game cd, and copy it, reading from the Lite-on as well as writing with it.

If you get the old version, then enable Fast Error Skip while reading, and don't enable AWS while writing.

This will work!!

You may be forgetting about the ATIP check. If you are playing from a burner then enable Hide CD-R Media in the Clone CD Tray.

you should also download clony in order to get all the right copy ticks tha you should enable..it scan the cd and gives you the copy protection and what you should to make a "perfect copy"

Clone XXL

IN CCd4 in the game icon, you right click and then choose edit and then you can chouse reading options like subchannel data!

But will cloncd4 automatically choose the right settings? if you just highlit the game icon and then read?

themis_t 10-04-2002 13:34

i don't use this..i still edit my options given by clony...

packer 11-04-2002 11:58

hmm.....

That's a good point badly answered !

Being more newbie that techie, I generally rely on what Clony XL is telling me (is that different from Clony XXL by the way?)

Things have got a bit confused recently though because (even in the English version) I get certain errors in German, which seem to refer to Securerom *new*.

So, if Clony 4 gets it right automatically then I'd be more than happy.

At the end of the day, I guess you will just tell me its trial and error !

One other point, can anyone explain in simple terms the relevance of "Hide CR Media" and where in the Clone CD tray it is located?

Thanks guys.

IF a cd has atip code which holdsinfo about the cd, jus the cdrw can read it and if it does the cd will not work and that is why you use hte option HIDe cdr media. this is foun when you riught click on the icon in the toolbar on the bottom right (cl0onecd icon)

Clony XXL is the newest version of Clony XL

themis_t 12-04-2002 13:59

clony 4?i think...you mean clone cd...

packer 12-04-2002 14:59

who said that?

hohner 12-04-2002 19:44

Hi themis_t,

I notice you have the same burner as me, Ricoh MP7163A. And judging by these posts you have no trouble copying Medal of Honor - Allied Assault?
Please tell me what settings to choose in Clonecd, read sub channel data, try to correct data etc,
Your help would be greatly appreciated, I am nearly into the double figures of coasters. I have tried with clonecd and with cdrwin but so far no luck.
Thanks

try a search on mohaa betablocker , one or both, and you should find 80 odd posts that tell you how do to it with a burner that cant make sfdsc2.51. unless urs can...which im too lazy to check. www.elby.de will know though.

themis_t 13-04-2002 14:36

read:4x
read subchannel data from audio and data tracks
fast error skip(3 retries and software fix or 5 retries and none)
write:4x speed
amplify weak...
always close last session
justlink

between reading and writing try to use the latest version of betablocker for patchng the sectors..

this is how i made my backup...

You enabled AWS and used BB? If it was the old version of CCD you were using then using AWS would have ruined the copy (did with me :( ) But I dunno with the newest version (version 4).

hohner 14-04-2002 08:18

I tried that themis_t, changed all settings like you said worked for you. This time they install, but still won't play from cd. Ricoh MP7163A cannot make a Safedisc copy? I used the no-cd patch instead.

themis_t 14-04-2002 13:57

well,i didn't use bb but it worked just by enabling aws...i didn't know that it ruins the patched image...
@hohner what is you firmware version?

gh0sth@cker 14-04-2002 16:06

What I mean is that if you used Clone CD v3.x.x.x then by ticking AWS for SD2.51 the copy wouldn't work (even after using BB). This was the case with my Plex 24 leaving me with yet more frisbees. (are there any more uses other than coasters and frisbees for our ruined cd's and those ANNOYING AOhell cd's)

DeanI 14-04-2002 16:18

are you sure i copied mohaa with a samsung sw216b with clonecd 3 and AWS ticked

(It was a while back so i might be wrong)

podunkviller 14-04-2002 18:10

betablocker patches everything that AWS would patch, so putting AWS on clone cd would probably freak the image out, since there are no weak sectors that need patching, and who knows what it does ;)

hohner 14-04-2002 19:30

How can I find out what firmware version I have?

gh0sth@cker 15-04-2002 10:29

Nah, I think it was to do with the fact that AWS in Clone CD 3.x.x.x wasn't set up to handle the different weak sectors introduced in SD 2.51 - (Betablocker had to be modified to do this) and so AWS was patching the wrong things and messing it up. :p

themis_t 15-04-2002 13:45

i don't have many frisbees...(about 10 since i bought ricoh)
all the frisbees i have i take and sell them to another guy that can take them for recycling and earn some money...well,this guy takes tones of cds but it costs a lot recycling but after recycling cds are better than they were before...

in order to find the firmware version go to control panel/sytem/device manager/cd rom/ricoh.../setting!
there you can see the firmware version,if it is br07 then you must go and download the new version from the ricoh site,if it is br08 you are ok...

hohner 15-04-2002 19:30

I updated my firmware to BR08, still making frisbees with safedisc though. I think I'll just go an buy a new burner - one that supports safedisc. Would be a lot cheaper than making all these frisbees.

themis_t 16-04-2002 13:47

ok...i don't have any problems at the time and even if i have (some rare times) i download or create the patch...
