*scratches head* Uh... could one of ya'll help this idiot (i.e. Me) here?
Situation: Got Sims Vacation, got a Lite-on LTR 32123S cd writer, also have Daemon Tools and Nero Burning 5.5.7.8.
Problem: I burned a copy of Sims Vacation (had regular 'ol standard HP cd rom, put the original disc there and burnt a copy), successfully installed the game from the copy. However, when I went to play the game (With daemon tools on of course), the Sims Vacation title appeared as normal, but then the whole thing more or less disappeared on me. Question: Is there a way to get around this? I'm probably seriously screwing up at some point or something. If this isn't normal (if it is, just say so), then could someone here please tell me the steps I'd need to do (or redo) to make a fully-functioning copy of the game? I'd just like to play the game on a regular basis without the orignal disc (Won't have access to the disc this coming week). Background info: I'm new at this (I've been burning CD's for a whole day now and this is my first post), I really have no clue about any of these details, as the title says, when it comes to this stuff, I really am an idiot... I'm just lucky I found this website by pure chance. |
Get Clone CD if you don't already have it. Read the game from your Liteon to an image file with Fast Error Skip ticked. Burn with your Lite-on.
If playing from your cd-writer, enable Hide CD-R Media in the Clone CD Tray. To play without CD, search for a NO-CD crack on GCW and follow the instructions it gives. |
you can also use clony xxl for the regognision of the game protection...
|
you could also just get a crack, but you lite on can do it perfectly! Just do what GHOST SAid
|
|
Ghost, nice thing that you put the link in like that, how do you replace the actaul link with a word?
|
<URL=http://www.have-a-happy-easter.con>The words here</URL>
It's just like HTML, but with the different brackets. Replace the < above with [ You can also just click on the http:// button underneath the bold button, which will do the work for you. |
cool...

Two quick things:
1) Since I'm in the US, CloneCD won't let me use the "amplify weak sectors" and the "hide CD-R media" options. As I have two cd-rom drives (one writer and one standard), this shouldn't be a problem should it as I can just toss the copied CD into the standard drive?
2) Just in case (as often as I have to fight my PC, learned back-up plans are a must), I decided to try to get the no-cd crack as well. Couldn't find it. Did I go to the wrong mirror or something? Went to Gamecopyworld and they didn't have anything on Sims: Vacation (had hotdate and the rest, just not Vacation). Could one of ya'll tell me where specifically to find it? Read somewhere that someone uploaded a crack for it someplace... didn't say where though. Oh, and thanks for helping me out. I greatly appriceate it (I can never spell that word right...) |

what, you don't know anything of html programming packer?
|
is that the vis basic way of doing it? html was <a href="your url">description</a> if im not mistaken :)

Weak sectors!!!!!
If you already have Clone Cd installed just to to control panel- region setting and change your region ( from America to Canada0 then reboot and the ability to boost weak sectors will be OK.
But as long as your region shows America or Japan you will not be able to Have weak sector boosts. There is a Clonecd V4 Beta out that may not have a weak sector boost needed. It worked for a known sfae disk 2 backup using a liteon 40125s You could use Russia but then things sort of look wierd in dates and such.. Good luck |

HTML is really not that hard - give it a go, there's just a few commands to know.
But when it comes to the complex languages - I let others do it for me - it's the easiest way :D |
thankls and what are htey?

if you want to learn html which is very good for start you can go to download.com and search for html tutorials, download everything you can get...then in order to prsctise on whta you have learnt try to download the arachnophilia propgram(again from download.com)

so,are you going to do this?
|
Hey packer if you want to learn HTML
go to www.angelfire.com you can use the basic editor at first and do micky mouse stuff, BUT one you get used to doing it you can convert it to advanced mode which is just a text box and you type in your HTML its an easy way to learn and its uploaded on line anyway so you don't need to run a webserver on your machine to view the finnished copy. |
i think arachnophilia is much better...and you don't have to be loged in...
