OFP 1.20 Fixed Updates

Both the Fixed Updates from ÐíZtrãçtíõn & [HKC]HongKong can now be recreated using the official OFP 1.20 Update, unSafeDisc and a few Patches (available @ GCW)

Let us know if it is working or if it still FADING!

BTW: The Unofficial OFP v1.20 [US] Update [5.0 MB] is now also available again (on our mirrors)

Use a HexEditor, like UltraEdit-32, open the OFP_120_Fixed_Update.exe file and check
which string is at position: $000002a0
Possible Strings: "suicide!", "nofear", "street knowledge", "hideous kinky", "spellbound",
"r!sc woz ere", "-razor 1911 rtl-" & "can you feel it!"
Execute the correct PATCHFX-{str}-{nr}.EXE Patch and apply it to: OFP_120_Fixed_Update.exe
Replace the {str} for the found string and replace {nr} for the Patch.

I used UltraEdit32 to open the file, and used the Find Text Command; it brought me to lines for all of the above )except "Can you feel it!", and "Street Knowledge" - they were not found), but NONE of them were on line $000002a0. Is there a way to change the "code" that I see to actual words in the strings, and then search that specific line? Where do I go from here?

You should just look for 1 of them ;) @ $2a0

It just to check which string was used of the 8

Most gaming companies think that everyone is on Cable or DSL ;)

These gaming companies should make an update CD free of charge for those with a modem and a legal key ;) to make good for their own made BUGS... but than again, the gaming companies are not the big gainers, the distributers of the game usually make the most...

NONE of them were found at $2aO. Some were found at different places, but NONE at that line. (I guess I could tell you all the lines found for those strings, but it wouldn't make any difference). BTW, which version is this crack for? I have the 1.00 version (European i think)

When i try to dump it with the dumper it says:

random error :-)
how can i solve this?

thanx

EMPiRE 22-09-2001 03:01

try it on another PC, had the same thing here for some odd reason

X7 22-09-2001 03:25

I used unsafe disc on the update, which worked fine, but when i tried to find the string position it did not come up with any of the 8 listen in the file "ofp_120_fixed_update_1.ace". It did find "dcX" though.
I applied the update to OFP anyway without patching the update, but FADE is still active. I am using the OperationFlashpoint2.exe also.Any suggestions? Thanks

Airwalk 22-09-2001 06:53

see 2nd posting ...

Found the error (got following message):

=========================================
Error found in file DTA\Data.pbo (f50def4f!=29ab50e0)
=========================================

It was a corrupt install file (i found it, by using an Original-File from *.bin ISO-File -> and it works!)

i have allready dumped and rebuild the patch
and also found the string ("hideous kinky") but
when i want to use the aprpiate fxpatch this are the results
PatchFX v1.10
============

opening OFP_120_Fixed_Update.exe...OK!
performing crc-check...failed!

ERROR: patch could not be applied!

Kerblakistani 24-09-2001 00:34

I see all these people making such a big deal of patching this game, you dont need ANY of these patch-fx tools to crack this game, all you need is unsafedisc the official patch and a registration key, the reg key is not that hard to find (try google and go Operation flashpoing registration key) and then you just modify the registry key. The only remaining trace of FADE is a message when you join a multiplayer game, has never kicked me out and has never FADEd on me.

nino 24-09-2001 00:59

i've got the same msg... what does this pathFX is searching for?

half-way through rebuilding it says "stxt774 api jmp thingy error, get in tough with r!sc" can anyone help me with this?

HBlake 25-09-2001 21:31

I dumped and rebuilt the update. I found the correct string. Now how do I use this patchfx? I dont understand what I need to do after i have located the string? What is correct patchfx? Exactly what do I type to patch it? Im new to this cracking cd thing.

ITF_(H/\()S 25-09-2001 22:12

I to don't understand what all the fuss is about cracking this game, and the fade thingy. I never seen my game fade.
Ok here is the low down on the dumper. You must have a working version of the game for the dumper to work. In other words when you run the dumper and point it towards your OperationFlashpoint.exe it starts the game up and while the game is loading it, does it's work by detecting all the security processes it goes threw then it ends the exe, and builds another exe without those processes. Ok, now if you got a non working version of the game that you need a crack for you can't dump the OperationFlashpoint.exe because the game never starts. I hope you understand this. For those of you out there that don't have the disk for the American version (1.20) of OFP then you can download it here.

http://www24.brinkster.com/itfpcgamer

Now this is my story. Me and my brother thought this game would be cool to buy, so we went half on it together, considering I can copy disk most of the time with no problem. Well not this one, so I installed the game off the original disk,(with orginal cd key) I left the original disk in the cd rom drive and ran the dumper on the OperationFlashpoint.exe file it made a new exe, So I renamed the new exe to OperationFlashpoint.exe deleteing the old one. Now I can play American version of OFP 1.20 with out the disk in the cdrom. I can join multiplayer and play for 9 hours straight and not one bit of "FADE" what ever the hell that does. Well I wish it was that easy for you guys. Sorry if I can't help you play this cool game.

Me too. The random error seems to be mainly on amd system, because the only comp i got it dumped with was a p2 with all other progz closed. But even then i get the jump thingy error. If anyone knows how to circumvent this error, please post...

Svart 29-09-2001 13:54

I have not fixed_update.exe:( When i can download it?

Vertigo 29-09-2001 14:17

Yeah, I get the random error too, but I've got a P3 733, so it can't be only AMD computers. PLEASE somebody post something on fixing this, I'm rather desperate ATM.

Svart 29-09-2001 14:39

Ops.. i found it at my HDD:)

Vagamus 29-09-2001 17:27

What exactly does this mean:

Execute the correct PATCHFX-{str}-{nr}.EXE Patch and apply it to: OFP_120_Fixed_Update.exe
Replace the {str} for the found string and replace {nr} for the Patch.

patchfx what? Could someone explain it to me please? i got everything up to this.

Vertigo 29-09-2001 17:49

Look for the indicated string # on the new patch (after the dumping, etc. process).
On there should be a message.
This message will be the {str} part of the Patch File you should've downloaded. Look through the zip file and find the Patchfx-{str} inside, and use it. Pretty simple, really.
-Vert
P.S. Somebody PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me with this random error thing

Vagamus 29-09-2001 17:57

I did what i think you meant... but it says the installation i have is corrupt or not installed... and i know it is, because i was just F**CKING PLAYING IT!

Vertigo 29-09-2001 18:16

Hm....that's odd. I can't help you there, considering how I have problems DUMPING the official patch, myself. Sorry, man.

After getting errors running the PatchFX stuff for the various entries found in HEX, I dediced to do this as well. I did not need to modify the registry entry for the CD key tho. Here are the steps I used:

PATCH LOCATION: 40 MB!!!!!
ftp://ftp2.jolt.co.uk/pub/ofp/ultimate_upgrade_2/ofppatch_upgrade_1_20.zip
This is the 40 MB upgrade file

Create the following directory:
TempDir: C:\TEMP\UPDATE
Check that at least 160 MB diskspace is available!

Extract the official Operation Flashpoint v1.20 Patch to the TempDir.

Extract http://gamefix.dxs.to/files/unsafedisc_2_40_10.zip (unSafeDisc v2.40.10 archive) to the TempDir.

Copy the Safedisc_v2_40_10_Dumper.EXE and the Safedisc_v2_40_10_Rebuilder.EXE from the Safedisc_v2_40_10_Dumper.v1.2.NOCD Directory to the same directory location as OFPPatch_Upgrade_1_20.exe

Execute Safedisc_v2_40_10_Dumper.EXE, select OFPPatch_Upgrade_1_20.exe [54,661,026 bytes] and click Open.
This will create the dumped ofppatch_upgrade_1_20.exe.data.bin file.

Note: Make sure that AT LEAST 60 MB of FREE MEMORY is available when creating the Fixed Update, less may crash your system!

Execute Safedisc_v2_40_10_Rebuilder.EXE, select ofppatch_upgrade_1_20.exe.data.bin [53,800,608 bytes] and click Open.
This will create the build OFPPatch_Upgrade_1_20.exe file.

Rename the rebuild sdv2.testme.exe to: OFP_120_Fixed_Update.exe
Extract the Patch Archive to the game directory.

Run OFP_120_Fixed_Update.exe (the fixed patch)

After patch completes, rename the Operationflashpoint.exe file to Operationflashpoint.1_20.uncracked (For backup purposes)

Extract http://www.gamecopyworld.com/cgi-bin/dl.cgi?Operationflashpoint_120_exe!ace to the game directory, placing OperationFlashpoint.exe in your game directory. This is the patch for NO CD Protection.

Extract http://www.gamecopyworld.com/cgi-bin/dl.cgi?ofp_120_serial_fixed!zip (PatchFX.exe) to the game directory.

Run PatchFx.exe

wanker 30-09-2001 04:17

I got a cracked cd with (european, i think... i dunno howto check that)opf v.1.0 and i wanted to update it to 1.20 but the upgrade file searched for my cd(which i obviously don't have). so i wondered if there was a file that could crack the upgrade file, or if someone can tell me how to do it myself, 'cause i just gotta have this game runnin'.
