myst 3 exile no cd does not work!!!!!!!!
 

I did a full install of the game and ran the crack in the bin folder just like it said it did not prompy me for the cd at start but once in the game i click on new game and it tells me to put the cd in the drive? Is this a full no cd version or just bypasses the startup no cd #####? if that is the case anyone know if they will be releasing a full no cd crack with a 2.2 gig full install i would have to think all the files the game needs are on the drive.

I found the same problem. Since my cd is assigned the letter "J", i can't play the game at all. I had hoped GCW would release a fix soon, but alas, it does not work. Maybe it does work if your cd drive has a letter of "H" or below as the original requires.

I noticed also that the "fixed" EXE is the exact same size as the original. This is usually not the case with a fixed .exe file. Perhaps the "cracker" rushed it a little on this one.

Hopefully a fix that works will be released soon. If you find one, I would appreciate an email letting me know about it.

The Ubisoft programmers really screwed up on this one, assuming that no one would ever have a cd drive with an assigned letter higher than "H". And I doubt if they are in any hurry to fix it since the group of people it affects would represent such a small segment of their sales.

Fortunately, I bought my copy from EB and I can easily get a refund.

This version just by passes the CD ##### I beleive. I downloaded it and it works fine for me, The game still needs to read the CD once it starts up. It just skips the CD ##### in the begining

One more thing: I did not do the full install I did the regular install 2.2 gig is too big the cd protection crack still worked on my PC.
My CD is on drive D: BTW

the no-cd werks fine...the problemo is in the game program itself...all u have to do is re-assign yurdisc drive to a new letter [a-h] it runs great after that.

can anyone help me? I dont have the noCD for Myst III. I would like to run the Myst III without using the CD at all, my DVD drive has problems recognizing switching disks (it may need to be cleaned but I'm not sure) so i did the full install. But It still asks for the CD. Please email me if you can help. THanks, Ern

hey ern....i backed up my copy with clone.........the no-cd on GCW is really a fixed EXE..apply it ..The game will still ask for the cd,but u just use ur back-up...p.s. ur disc drive needs to be A-H for the game to run{programmer f#$&-up. Just reassign the letterof it.Peace to all and Bot-Ck is god !

there IS a patch disk coming from Myst 3 sposed to fix the drive letter problem you have to sign up and it will be mailed to you

i tried to back up my copy with CD clone but it gave me errors. I also can not find the no-cd fixed EXE GCW. Any suggestions?

All of this is very useful if you have a burner...
What about those of us who don't and only have access to the myst 3 disks for a limited amount of time???

When is someone going to release a HDD only patch for this game?

there is a HDD patch only--just released yesterday on GCW. You'll need to do the full install (over 2Gig)and with the patch you'll be able to play without using the disk

It says English not U.S. so it doesnt work with the U.S. version I would say..I have the original and my backup I have made and still need to put in the cds if playing with the crack in it..

It is NOT a no-cd crack anyway.

Try as i might the only Myth 3 file I can find at GCW is the fixed exe?
Where is this elusive nocd run from hdd file that you claim exhists?

I can bring up a link to Myst 3 on the game index but every time I click on it I go back to the search engine at cd media world???

Spose I'll just leave Myst 3 on the hdd till I can actually play it. 2.2GB, just sitting there...

Jesus christ I own the game and I can't play it until someone releases a crack on here.. wtf?

unsafedisc 2 doesn't work because the newer games always have some newer version it can't handle.. Starting to drive me nuts that I can't even play games I PAY for.

BTW I mean play it with the patch they just released about fixing the archaic way of thinking that no users would have CD-r0m drives over the letter H

I have CLone CD and an HP9500 that has always worked with ohter programs. I copied it and it does not work, still asks for the CD. What settings did you use?
I also tried the patch but that did not work either. SOMEBODY PLEASE EXACTLY how do you apply the patch AND WHEN?

I did the following and it wroked.
1. Copy all of the DISK 1 to a directory.
2. Copy the Patches to a directory \patch
3. Copy the Crack MYSTIII_1_1_1.Crack.exe to \Crack
4. Create the CD Image including the crack and patch directory
5. Burn the CD and all the others.
6. Do a FULL install using the burned CDs
7. AFTER install apply the Patch and THEN the crack to the BIN directory. I skipped the PATCH as I do not need it so can't say if that part works.

Play HAPPILY without the CDs

Goreloozer... I have copied the minimal installlation of cd one to the hard drive, replaced the M3 in Bin with the No cd exe from GCW. I managed to play all of CD 2 but when it comes to CD3 the game promts for CD 1 first, when I put the copy I made of CD 1 in, it still won.t promt for CD 3. Help what do I do. " Can you or anyone else tell me." Was I suposed to do a full/maximum installation of CD 1.?

Dam something went wrong with my login on this board and i had to create a new one.

First of all, the myst 3 1.2 Fixed exe/nocd exe does work. Its been tested on 3 diffirent machines before i put it out. Myst 3's cd ##### is very simple, it #####s to see that you have 'EXILE Disc x' directorys in teh root of myst3 (the other cd##### is blaint and removed). X is the disc number, so there should be 4. If you do not, reinstall the game and make dam sure your choosing the FULL and COMPLETE install.
Then make sure you have copyied the fixed exe into the bin directory and make sure its OVERWRITEN the old. Its a much smaller EXE for version 1.2.
As for the incidents about cd3, i only have this solution. When i was making a copy of myst3 all cds copyied ok EXCEPT cd3 which is funny, it takes a long time to read data from this for some unknown reason. I redid cd3 and the same problem, it still works for me tho.

Btw, has anyone tested my myst3 savegame editor? ;)
