Just installed the new no solder modchip
 

Glad to say everything loads, PSX, PS2 cdr and dvdr load perfectly. Backup's load as fast if not faster than my PS2 that has a x-key dvd chip. It took about 10 minutes to install and is so simple anyone should be able to do it. To me this is the best mod solution for the US 30001r V5 console's, I know i am happy with the results.

Is there a special way to boot originals, or do they play automatically?

Did you try GTA3 CD Rom on it?

1.What version Gameshark did you use?
2. Do 650+ MB(74 min+) games work on it?
3. Could you please list the games you tried on it

Thanks Charlie, D soldier, i am using a v1.93 GS2, i have loaded Nascar heat 2002, Kolona 2, and Jak and Daxter dvd-r backups along with several cdr backups,(i havent had time to try them all).

It only works for v5 PS2's

where can you get this new no solder mod chip and how is it installed? what do you need to back up ps2 games? please help, i am new at this. thanx!!!

Load gameshark2, at the main menu screen press eject and swap GS2 disc with original dvd game(i use DOA2). Wait about 15 sec then select start game, without codes, when it says to swap disc press and hold eject, power led will turn from green to orange and tray will eject, swap DOA2 with dvd-r backup, tray will close automatically in 5 sec, Press x and game will load.

Too much hassle.. I'll just wait until the no swap , direct boot solutions flood the market, which won't be long...

Cant get DVD-R`s to boot with this chip, only using the NE0 2.2 Dave Mirra Trick, weird!!. The supplied instructions do not work?

I have discovered this does not work woth action replay 2, you have to use the dave mirra method ?

does it play Import originals?and are u using pal or us ps2?

no, it does NOT play import originals. it's just a neo 2.2 on a pcb.

Do EA games need patching with this mod?

So far i havent had to patch anything.

I have the usb mod chip with the single wire soldered in the unit. If i get this no solder mod chip can I install that without removing the wire, or do I need to remove the wire
