Anyone who uses CDRWin, RRREEEAADD this!!!
Ive been trying to copy playstation games for about 5months now and still havent made a succesful copy. Ive tryed using Nero, CloneCD, Easy CD creator, and Ive used CDRwin 1nce. I seen that many people say thayve use CDRWin and made working Copies 8) and before I end up making another coaster, I'd Like to ask peolpe that are succesfully using CDRwin to please give me a detailed step by step on how to use CDRWin!
Also I knoow that ether achip or a game enahncer is needed to play them, GamesharkPro does cuont as game enahncer right. Note: Im still a newby at it, laymen terms Pleas! :p |
What hardware do you have?
|
I Have a HP CD-writer plus 8250i, it has 4x write 4x rewrite 24x read. CDRWin calls it 0:1:0 IDE-CD R/RW 4x4x24x 1.04
Im not sure what my reader is but CDRWin calls it 0:0:0 OIPD24T OTC-H101/ST3, also I know its a 32x max read. For the computer hardware itself, I think a 36 ram, 300 MegaHertz AMD K6 3D NOW! prosser, it sucks I know, 4 gig hard drive spit to about 500, 2000, and 1500megs. Wil Deamon tools help? Hope that's enough info :) |
Not sure about this but according to its specs at Elaborate Bytes I don't think you can copy PSX with this.
Try installing CDRWin with its default values. Select 'extract disc, tracks, sectors' and make your bin/cue files Once done select 'record disc', select your cue file and burn it. This should work with any non protected PSX cd. |
what do you mean by default values and what about Daemon tools?
|
when you open up 'extract disc, tracks, sectors' click on restore defaults and have it on writing raw
|
But shouldn't i have it ignore error recovery, have it read at 1x speed and 10 read retry counts for it to work?
I'm saying this because this is what the backup instructions for CDRWin at psx copyworld says, even though I tryed going by what it said and it didn't work, is because the instructions are wrong? :o |
Everything you need right here:####://www.consolesource.com/support_options/online_manuals/CDRWIN/default.htm
|
If you set it to 'ignore' errors then you will never be able to get a true copy.
PSX cds do NOT have any read errors unless the cd is damaged. THERE IS NO POINT IN TRYING TO COPY A DISC THAT HAS ERRORS! Set it to 'Abort' and if you do get data errors then the source is NO good. |
Hey amigo! BOT-CK, you are wrong! If you dont ##### the Ignore Errors Section, the image isnīt works! I usually copy PAL games, and my no-errors bin isnīt worked when I tested it. About how to copy a CD, if you want to copy an already patched CD, use Nero Burning Rom with "Continue copy" and donīt fix errors enabled
|
Just like I said GranMacco, If you read a bad cd then obviously it won't work.
All you are doing by saying 'Ignore' is to read suspect data and instead of rejecting it you are saying it is allright. Bloody stupid thing to do. |
I have never seen a US game with a read error, unless it was scratched!
You do not need to ##### ignore errors on a good disk, sometimes with a scratched CD you can get a working copy by ignore errors IF the error is not located on GAME DATA, most of a CD is MUSIC and MOVIE data. I don't know if gamesharks will load a Backup or not, may need different software flashed on the gameshark. Try your CD's on a friends PSX who HAS a MOD CHIP, and GET a mod chip, it's the best way! Do your burns finish good on your computer? Can your computer read your CD's? Look at the contents, all PSX CD's should have a system.cnf file and slus#. Some burners have weak lasers and PSX will not read a CD recorded from them. Even if you do not have a MOD chip, or any way to boot a backup, You can usually tell if a PSX will read the CD from the CD audio player screen. Put in the CDR at the audio player screen and at least 1 track should appear. If no tracks appear then it can't read a CD from your burner! |
Anyone who uses CloneCD, RRREEEAADD this!!!
????
How can I use it? I copy FF8, but windows freezes! Help! |
Have you tried BlindWrite?
|
??? Blindwrite? What is it? I have Blindread, nut only works with PC games. Where i can download it?

It has an AMD Athlon processor, 1ghz, 38gig hard drive, 64mb ram, and WinME OS. The Reader is a DVDRom, called 0:0:0 LITEON DVD-ROM LTD122 NH1 on CDRWin. My writer has 8xwrite 4xrewrite 32xread, called 0:1:0 LITE-ON LTR-0841 MNS1 on CDRWin. See if this computer would work very well please! 8) |
one thing that is best to do is to make sure you use the same reader as you do to write as this will make the best image file for the writer.
|
Use a program called PSX Copy ..Its so much easier.....
|
I am getting fed up with some of the totally stupid suggestions people make!
PSXCopy is the most [4]useless[/4] software anyone can use! |
try this it works for me i use cdrwin 3.7f
extract disc/tracks/sectors reading options don't tick RAW .CD+G .cd-text.mcn/isrc error recovery tick ignore jitter correction auto Subcode Analysis auto copy to hdd. run patch if needed then load cue sheet and burn at single speed |
Here we go again - another idiot who doesn't know the correct settings for CDRWin!
The correct settings are the [4]DEFAULT[/4] ones! Raw [4]MUST[/4] be ticked! |
LOL BOT-CK these guys dont listen to you you are right leave all the settings to default cdr-win was made to burn psx games and i have used it for over a year with no problems and i have the exact cd burner as the person who ####ted this leave settings at default!!!
|
Your Computer is OK.
Try Clone CD, I burn my PSX game with it if they're not protected. And CDR-Win if they're protected, because you need a patch. |
I have read all these posts with keen interest. What do you do if you have a "mod"ified PS, a Sony burner that CDRWin doesn't support and CloneCD that still produces coasters with all the "right" options #####ed.
Yada |
Sell the naff CD-R and buy one that is supported by both Clone-CD and CDR-WIn. These two pieces of software, particularly CDR-WIN (because it is less restrictive on CD-R device) lie at the core of successful PS2 backup creation. That comes through time and again on this forum.
|
To BOT-CK and the rest of you that says you should put cd-r win in abort.
If i do that i will have a "Coaster" like you say. But if i put it in ignore, even if i copy cd-2-cd, or if i make an cue/bin file it will be 100% good. Of course i have to crack it to make it work. So you mean if i want a 1to1 copy without an crack it should be in abort. But iīve got some originals that produces errors and if i choose abort i wonīt get any copy. So how should i do ???? |
It will not be 100% good. Bot-ck clearly stated if you set it to ignor read errors you will never get a true copy. PSX games do not have read errors unless the cd is damaged. The game may ####t up and play but will not be a true copy. If you dont get a 100% read without getting errors then you are wasting your time.
|
Ok, once again I have had enough, Mr Pepsi has been banned.

You are right. CDR-WIN does not support your Liteon 0841 CD-R device according to the Goldenhawk web site.

bot ck is right the best setings are default
however if you do have a scratched cd it is posible to make a backup with the error on ignore but you wont get a true copy i tend to use this if i try to burn a video hire shop copy as they are not looked after very well and have a lot of scratches another way is to d/l a cue and bin or iso and burn that might take a while though if you only have 56k :) |

Is any one going to answer me, especailly you, Rimmer! I still have no working copies, but no ones helping out! :'(
|
The best burning combination for non clone cd compatible people : Read with cdrwin, patch, then burn at 4x with blindwrite. Blindwrite kicks the crap out of cdrwin. any objections to that?
