1.-- Install Game, update to latest version + No-DVD.
2.-- Download the Conversion and extract to HD, (not in game folder)
2a.- Move _CommonRedist to Conversion output folder. (Last DVD)

3.-- Run DiskSpan_GUI Choose Input/Output folder, Choose compression method
4.-- Test the conversion, before burning ISO.

I attached updated DiskSpan.bat
- Fixed when just creating 1 disc, sometimes it did not rename the folder from "DVD_1" to "DVD" so the size returned wrong: "Output Size: 0 Byte".

Thank you dear mausschieber for your all works and convertors. But it seems there are some problems in this convertor and installer.

It seems there are numbers of files compressor can't do anything with them and there are some pictures of "Borderlands" in installer!

Conversion Updated to new Script

You can use this plugin to precompress this game. It works for game version Hotfix #4 (17 August 2023).

To update the xtl file when a new update comes out, you have to use bms2xtool with lspk_mod_R3.bms script with the following config.

It seems this DiskSpan software cant find xtool:mbg3 method files.
Installer is incompatible with mbk2:df20p method and returns ISDone.dll error.
Compression method of data3 removes about 8GB of some sound data files and the installed game by using this method will almost have no sound.

And also shortcut address must be "{Game Folder}\bin\bg3.exe"

Then just update to latest DiskSpan_GUI version, not that hard to replace the files.
Also use the attachment here and follow the instructions to generate a new xtl file for the new game version.

I still have error at the beginning of compression and I think I am doing something wrong.
I update the DiskSpan_GUI to 1.0.8.0, added BG3.7z files content, add lspk_mod_R3.bms file to "\Resources\TOOLS\Bms2XTool\Scripts" folder and replace those scripts to bms2xtl.ini file.

(However I think in best situation this will solve only the problem of bg3 method in data1 file and two other will remain.)

the newest DSG is not 1.0.8.0 its 2.0.1.9 hf1 you can use it from Robocop

Thanks a lot dear mausschieber. I used DiskSpan of Robocop convertor, Update it and select its Baldur's Gate (who convert and compress date in 5 parts). Then added BG3.7z files content, add lspk_mod_R3.bms file to "\Resources\TOOLS\Bms2XTool\Scripts" folder and replace those scripts to bms2xtl.ini file. But still have the same problem. I think I'm doing something wrong :(. So can you please remake the convertor with built in mbg3 method?

1. Download attachment and extract it somewhere
2. Edit "bms2xtl_generate.bat" and change game path
3. Start "bms2xtl_generate.bat" and wait for it to finish
4. Copy "Resources" folder to DiskSpanGUI folder and replace all files when prompted
5. Go to "Resources\PRE\XTool_2020\Plugins" folder and open bg3.7z
6. Replace the bg3.xtl inside the 7z archive with the one you have created before
7. Open DiskSpanGUI.exe and select game folder and start

With each new game update you have to recreate the XTL file and replace it before compressing the game. In next DSG version this process will be done automatically.

I don't know why the compressor didn't make conversion log. Anyway, input size was 121GB and output size is 78GB in 18DVDs in about 4 hours with LZMA-MT for Data1. Install Time: 00:30:43 (HDD on HDD).

But installed folder size is NOT the same as the source.
Compressor avoided these files:
- {Game Folder}\Data\Localization\Voice.pak (4.79GB)
- {Game Folder}\Data\SharedSoundBanks.pak (28.2MB)
- {Game Folder}\Data\SharedSounds.pak (4.67GB)

Absence of these files causes some sound issues. For example intro video and and menu was completely silent.

Sorry, my fault. I was testing something before and forgot to change it back to original...

Open DSG_Settings.ini and remove the red part.
Unfortunatelly you have to redo the first data bin.

Or compress the sound files manually with freearc and add it manually to records.ini

So any updates to this one as well.
