yes I agree
but the mini-image with daemon e alcohool + (starforce tools ) doesn't work! |
For Trackmania sunrise this method doesnt work.
The only option will be using the USB2 trick like Splinter Cell 3 ;) |

yes thanks but it's very difficult

@mantra
Does your SF-key start with EK7... ? |
yes
|
@mantra
Then it's not difficult at all ;) - create config file and save as tmsunrise.cfg: TMSUNRISE EK7********************** 235520 19 107008 22 - measure original angles (also works with a mounted image including a good DPM): sfcdvd.exe //./x: tmsunrise.cfg > Angles.txt (save as *.bat) Execute *.bat, open Angles.txt and add values to config file e.g.: 260 348 99 80 230 111 - Create an image and burn it on CD-RW with Alcohol's 'normal CD' profile (keep the image) - Compare topology of that CD-RW with original angles: sfcdvd.exe //./x: tmsunrise.cfg s24 t5 m0 v0 > Sector shift.txt (save as *.bat) Execute *.bat, open Sector shift.txt and add recommended values to config file e.g.: 1 11 15 11 16 10 - Create patched image: sfmdf.exe tmsunrise.cfg TMSUNRISE TMSUNRISEpatched s v1 (save as *.bat) Execute *.bat and burn patched image on the same CD-RW with 'Securom' profile; just click 'Ok' at the TOC warning message P.S. Always verify your results with a second measurement; copy only works in 'read only' drives; in a burner copy will only be checked when connected via USB/SCSI/RAID |
Hi Zulu,
This was an extremely interesting article! Because the documentation of those Starforce Tools is in Russian (?) only, I couldn't find out what exactly they do and how. Now I see this short lecture on how to fix a particular game. But can you tell us a bit more about what these configuration parameters mean? :) Thanks in advance! |
thanks Zulu
i'll do it , should I work with a full image (not a mini image) right? |
@Joe Forster/STA
I'm not sure that i completely "got" the theory :confused: (but analysing logs is pretty easy ;) ) I think besides the detailed explaination at cdru the thread at cdfreaks also contains the essential points. First time the "idea" appeared HERE If you really like to get "into it" ask eip/AlB; a really nice (and patient) guy "Stolen" from AlB: [first string] disc label (for information purposes only) [second string] disc key (for information purposes only) [sector of zone 1] [estimated sectors per track (oops, it's spiral, then cicrle) in zone 1 (int)] [offset of sector of zone 2] [estimated sectors per cicrle in zone 2 (int)] With that cfg sfcdvd can extract correct angle values from original disc [six correct angle values] [six sectors shift for sfcdvd.exe tests and sfmdf.exe twining] So before patching the image cfg looks like this: TMSUNRISE EK7********************** 235520 19 107008 22 260 348 99 80 230 111 1 11 15 11 16 10 (as said before: just an example; sector shift varies for every CD-RW!) @mantra Right. |
it works! thanks zulu
but a no-cd would be great! |

Even if you succeed in patching the image, the copy will only work with certain CD-R media and in certain drives (in writers, it doesn't work at all). It's a pain in the ass!
