this is wut i did to fix it.

copy dvd onto the hard drive. (example D:\GTA SA\)

install from drive to location u like

rename gta sa.exe to gta sa.exebak(so u dont lose original)

extract cracked gta sa.exe into installed folder

and there u go. worked for me.

hi all,i was having the same crash to desktop problem as other people,i tryed a lot of things to fix it patches etc but in the end i sorted it out by simply doing the following(cant take credit fould it on sum forum)
a) Make sure that your windows log-in account has a password, the change that you have to make doesn't allow a blank password to be entered.

b) Second click "gta_san.exe" (usually in Program Files > Rockstar Games) > "Run As" > "The following user"

c) Select the user you have a passoword for, type in password, press OK.

d) Log out (if you dont the game runs really slow for some reason)

5. Log back in and play the game!!
the game now works fine for me so hopfully it might sort yours out.

i'm using 1.0 multilanguage hoodlum crack for now.. it works fine
my original exe is backed up so when 1.1 will be cracked (maybe), i'll restore my orginal exe, patch game and use new crack...

WardoggOne 30-12-2005 11:43

why not update and use your original disc? or judging by your post you don't have one. bye

Muji-FightR 30-12-2005 12:03

This might be a little offtopic though, hope it doesn't really matter ;)
I finally finished GTA SA, but after i did the last mission (in which you have to follow bloody awful Tempenny), the game just crashs to desktop and Windoze tells me that gta_sa.exe encountered a stupid error...
is this because of the hoodlum crack ? i dont want to do the whole stupid level again just to see if, especially since i already uninstalled it.
Did anyone finish the game without that bug ? Even with the Hoodlum crack ?
My GTASA is 1.0, i didnt install any update...

I finished it fine with the HLM crack, even tho it crashed sometimes on that helicopter mission, but thats about it.

GTA San Andreas No-CD Problems

Had bought a copy of GTA SA recently. Loaded it onto laptop ok, but when I tried to run the game it came up with an error message saying "Original disk could not be found or authenticated", although it is in the drive! I thought it could be an error with the disk an exchanged it for another copy, but this has done exactly the same. Since then I have tried 2 No-Cd patches, I can get a bit further i.e. it loads the intro sequence but then when that has finished it just goes back to the desktop.

Any suggestions?

Is your GFX card compatable with the game? Check what chipset your GFX card uses in your laptop then see if the game suports it.

TippeX 11-03-2007 09:06

how would the chipset of his gfx card possibly matter when the message he gets is from the protection? (sounds like securom...)

nathan_p 11-03-2007 11:45

What's securom?

Laptop spec is 3.06ghz Pentium 4 processor, 512mb ram, 64mb graphics card(not sure how you find out all details). This should meet minimum requirements

Joe Forster/STA 11-03-2007 12:06

SecuROM is a copy protection system. Laptops - mostly because of their inferior integrated graphics cards - are not suitable for many games.

nathan_p 12-03-2007 11:35

Not wanting to sound (too) thick, does that mean that the game isn't going to work on my laptop? Or is there a work around?
