lol..

you disappeared...

Sorry :D

From what I know you can unpack the archives but can't repack them with tools (RE2 works fine with unpacked archives).

So you are saying its impossible...

But fitgirl and corepack are doing that for most of the repacks....

I talked about public tools. I don't know about private tools or techniques.

Go and ask them if you want to know.

I have questions....

How to extract game language files from the game files so that these can be compressed separately...

How to merge these files again during installation...

Separately, the language files are extracted in the data structure of a game, they are compressed in separate archives, each archive for each language pack, at the end the rest of the files of the whole game is compressed.
When you download a game, for example "Topolino", you have the possibility to select and choose which language package you are interested in, except of English which is included in default in the basic archive. Finally, during the installation, will be extracted the complete game (English language) + the language of your have choice.

If I could've asked them then I wouldn't post my query here...

And if it was not possible thru public tools you should have told this instead of asking name of game....

Maybe you should have asked the question correctly and stated how to do when using 'public' tools. ;)

Or ...

When asking your original question you should have said you want to know how to extract and then merge the files like FitGirl or Core do, then KaktoR would have understood exactly what you wanted and could have told you they use 'private tools' instead of asking 'for what game'? :D

Can't blame KaktoR's response to your initial question. ;)

My bad.. i didn't know that it requires any tool at all...

So I asked the correct question that time..

If there is any way to ask fitgirl or corepacks then i didn't post my question here in this forum...

And I am not blaming anybody.. My only point was that the first question he asked "what game" it was not required.. Since it was not possible through any public tool whether I would have added in question "fitgirl or corepacks"...

Every game is different, the question by KaktoR was right, he asked because on many games you can do it with the public tools without any problem but on Resident Evil 2, there are no public working tools. Thats because all language data is stored into a same gamefile on resident evil. On other games you can actually see that language files are separated, for example xxx_spanish.whatever/xxx_english.whatever/etc..., those that have language files in separated files can be made with public tools. The easiest way is to create a folder for each language and copy those files conserving the main game folder structure, then compress each language in a separated bin/arc file. For extracting, it depends on the installer you are using, but in my case im adding them as "Components".
For games like Resident Evil 2 you have to search for tools that can unpack those big files, some games you can use modding tools (like on old Tomb Raiders, Mass Effect 3, etc...), for RE2 there is also a unpacker too.

Well its possible with the public tools but the point is, is it worth it ? Each language is around ~100MB probably as far as I remember (or maybe little larger). For me to write a tutorial on this will require some work as not many people are used to with these kind of methods. I will see what I can do.

It is only for academic purpose...
Just want to learn how can it be done...

If you write a tutorial it would be helpful not only for me but for entire forum...

Thank you...

Download Xtool_011

You need this files.
(use x64 version)

arc.exe
arc.ini
xtool.exe
xtool.ini
liblz4.dll
Pack.bat
Srep64.exe
LOLZ.exe

Make sure you have add all dat files to xtool.ini

on Xtool_011 FA_example had all files you need to pack FC NEW DOWN,
If you want do split game to DVD5/9 or BD25 use Diskspan. but you have to replace
xtool.exe and xtool.ini from xtool_011 cause it made for FC New Down.

I Recommend you to Use Diskspan with latest Xtool.exe and xtool.ini

danswano 08-03-2019 05:21

Thank you very much, you mean i should be using lz4 library? cause it didn't precompress anything although xtool.ini is filled properly and the path in basedir is correct.
