The .dat file is larger because it has been uncompressed. (It runs actually faster than the original because the all kinds of shit that the copy protection contains is not executed anymore.)

EA has a bad reputation when it comes to (all kinds of) user support. If you think your key has been stolen (would be nothing new, unfortunately) and would like to get things straight then, by all means, contact them but make sure to have some proof of purchase (original box, manual, DVD, invoice/bill/receipt etc.) handy as well as your refrigerator stuffed with food for a few weeks...

Alright, I've read through this thread, and cannot find my issue specifically. I am not extremely computer literate, but I try.
I have installed successfully, and am using DAEMON Manager V4.08HE to emulate. I also overwrote the .dat file with the cracked .dat. When I go to play I get an error: 'Conflict with Emulation Software detected.'.
Any ideas?

Update Daemon Tools to v4.30.1 and try again.

I downloaded Yasu and updated DAEMON Tools. It fixed my first problem.
Now I'm getting a different error: 'Please insert the original disc instead of a backup.'

Well, i have bought The game (not kanes edition). And installed it, but when i try to launch it, even with the CD in, it says i dont have directX 9 or above, or my grafics card is hardware accelerated, but i know none of that is true. Anyone got a clue?

You may not have it installed (which I doubt since the installer will update DX automatic)
Click here and check if you have enough hardware to run C&C3.

I have in fact installed it, i have directX 11, and the only thing not passing in the test is hard disk space, but since i allready have it installed..

Direct X 10/11 development is something dead most games are still on dx 9 and even with it installed could get in problems running
