I have tried this on two seperate workstations.

I get the same error

"memory error, program exit"

I install TQ
Update with patch provided from aSxDOX
Copy file into games directory and cracked .exe
I try load the game and get the same error on both worstations.

What am i doing wrong?

Easy enough (had the same problem though!).
Just copy all the junk files in their proper folder (I think it's "_asx" or something like that) (in your Titan Quest folder). They should already be in their folder in the rar file just copy the "folder" instead of the files! Hope this works!

(If not, just pm me... Had the problem so I understand exactly!)

Had the same problem. I only deactivated the win98 compatibility mode (which I activated for well known reasons ^^) in the .exe and now it works fine.

im criticising it because it could have been better done, some of the other secu cracks are 'clean', this one is messy, and has the potential to fail (its failed for others.. ) simply because of the way it handles the memory

Hey guys, I didn't do the crack. I found it on a great private torrent tracker :D and I just gave it to you all.

Until now, there's no other 1.15 crack, so Take It Or Leave It!

Guess some people just don't appreciate TippeX's knowledge!!

If a crack is to 'work' it must done in a way that both mimicks the original EXE and is system friendly, not cobbled together and 'hoping' it will work!

TippeX is pointing out the rather shoddy way this crack has been done, and the likelyhood it will fail on certain systems due it not being coded in a system friendly manner, i.e. making sure the dumped data gets loaded back into areas of ram that don't conflict with ram already taken by other processes.

Seeing as this crack relies on loading the data back into the same addresses they were dumped from there is a chance it could conflict with a process already using one of those addresses, and BAM!, the damn thing crashes!!

So when someone tries to educate you, have the courtesy to read and learn :)

Uhm, are you a write-only user?! This crack is exactly what has been discussed for, at least, a dozen posts above...

if you have problems with aSxDOX crack for 1.15 try disabling Data Execution Prevention (DEP)

dep should not be an issue, the loader does actually allocate the memory as PAGE_EXECUTE_READWRITE, so dep is fine, the game itself could have bugs, crashes with 0xc0000005 exception i've seen a few times, that isn't from the loader though..

dep (/nx) only causes an issue if the area the eip is pointing to is not marked as executable (such as the stack etc)...

and last time i checked if the ep of an exe is not marked in an executable section (which this one is not), then i think windows disables dep for the process... same as if the executable has sections it knows are protection sections such as the .stxtxxx from safedisc..

open up ntdll.dll and so a search for the safedisc 'BoG' tag, then xreference it... (only if you're xp sp2 or higher.. cos dep isnt active in xp sp1 or lower).. then you'll find how laughable dep is, because all the malware authors have to do is make 'safedisc' like sections in the executable and dep goes completely out the window...

hope none of you evil people out there get ideas from that...

instead of putting down the cracker why don't you do one yourself?
you seem a lot knowledgable from what i see.

i have installed the asx crack and so far it works...until someone does what reloaded does i welcome any type of crack that does not involve mounting virtual disks or using some type of antiblacklisting agent to make the game work.and there does not seem to be an virus in it..I guess tippex is just jealous at the way it was done...can't accept that maybe someone out there is more "capable" than him.

GIMME A HELL YEAH!!!! for the cracker who did this. hope many more to come and more for TQ and further crappy patches that they do. ahahahahahahahha

of course we ill have to wait and see if the crack does hold up when you play the game for a while..i played a few minutes and it seemed ok..will have to give game a good test to see if crack is worth it.

that's the problem. I wrote it works fine for me, but after around 45minutes TQ crashed...
So there's only one solution that works for me: the one using alkisecurom, deamon tools and the bender-image. I've played over 2 hours without any problem.

well seems like a some ppl having no knowledge about the topic are posting crap...
for some people the crack works for some it doesn´t (check some backup forums on the net). it just isn´t a "PROPER" fix, it´s more a work-around. if it works for you, be happy...

ermmm jealous about the way it was done? read tippex´s posts again, he explained why the fix can cause problems... so why beeing jealous about a crack wich doesn´t even work for everyone as it should? :rolleyes:

same example... ppl just don´t appreciate the effort like RLD does to make "proper" cracks. it works for ya but why do u bitch around? i guess you would do the same if the fix it wouldn´t work...

Just a recap for others.

Download Patch and crack for 1.15 (Look for links in earlier posts)
Install Titan Quest
Install patch for 1.01 -> 1.15
Copy _asxdox Folder into TQ install directory
Tip --> Keep a copy of original exe in folder for future updates.
Copy cracked Titan Quest.exe into install directory over-writing original.

No need for anything else.... well for me anyway

nope you guess wrong, back when i did do cracks i took great care they worked on all os's, and were 'clean' or as clean as they could be, so i'd look upon this one as a 'quality control, its badly coded, and prone to error.. and if you look at the disassembly you really can't argue about that (given i outlined the issues), as for capable, thats up to the audience

I left Install CD number 2 at this PC Cafe and the dude shrugged at my attempt to recover it. :mad: *&$!. Can someone hook me up with the ISO file for it? I would Really appriciate it. :(

I didn't even know the Titan Quest Install CD #2 was a protected CD. I thought only the first CD was protected. Does this mean a healthy ISO won't be possible?

all that the ebay thing proves is your name and location (possibly), it doesn't prove your ownership of the game.. simple as that.. sorry

iso format can not contain the protection information/signature so the cdcheck will never pass on an iso image (thats why clonecd, alcohol, blindwrite images etc exist)... iso you can obviously install from (provided of course the installer isn't protected)...

and asking for the iso is kinda against the rules... and pointless
if you lost the cd, and still have disk 1 and proof of ownership, manuals, cdkey etc, then contact the publisher for a replacment disk

We've heard TONS of stories so, please, understand that we're not going to swallow yet another. It doesn't matter whether it's true or not: the forum rules are absolutely clear, there's nothing to miss or not understand about them. Also, they explain exactly what to do when your original discs have gotten damaged... Don't blame us for your not having had read the forum rules and its consequences!

Thanks alot for crack to patch 1.15!! :) You are gooood. But... Do You play online also? Because i tried but it showed me "invalid cd-key". So even with latest patch i can't play it... How should i do to play online? I should get oryginal cd-key only? I think You guys play online ,coz if You dont ,the patch 1.15 wouldnt be so neccesary for You ;)

I know that I cant ask about cd-keys, but i think i cant ask "where i can find ck-key" right? I just asked about net ,how is it about to play online. Besides i dont know why we can give cracks here but not cd-keys or serials? :rolleyes: I really dont know ,but its ok. I just want to get to know about my question ;) CHeers

The CD Key can found on the CD/DVD or in/on the packaging of your original game, that is the only place to find it! There is NO REASON to ask for CD Keys or serial numbers EVER!

If you need to ask for a CD Key, then it's appears you don't have the original game! right?

You cannot ask for serials/CD-keys because the forum rules explicitly say so. I wish everything (else) was this simple and obvious in life!

-3 three patches
-3 game reinstalls
-3 times restarting the game, with a new character

Yesterday i just reached level 8. After 2 hours of playing I quit the game and had lunch. But, later that day...surprise..my character was gone! I mean nothing, no saves !.
