Ehrm ...
Hi, sorry I'm a bit new and I've tried the method to split up the game. Got it in 6 dvd5. I use setup, choose directory and let it install ... the installation lasts 1 second and looking at directory under Rockstar Games there is the folder Uninstall with a bunch of icons and files and a dll ... that's all this setup is installing. Can't figure out what's wrong :|. |
Make sure you pointed correct path also there shouldnt be any semicolon ( ; ) in front of the path you will edit (check description)
|
Thanks Rev0 for support :).
So, I used again Inno Setup and I left it centrifuge my Max Payne installed directory. I've obtained again *.bin files, but this time at the end of the splitting process (which launches setup.exe), I didn't press cancel like first time but "install/uninstall" - does Inno script launches setup.exe at the end of the process? Now installation looks fine, I'll run more tests. To modify setup.ini it's only about changing "MyExecutableName=MaxPayne3.exe" for "MyExecutableName=PlayMaxPayne3.exe" ? |

Setup.ini edit will do the job. |

I mean INNO launching setup.exe does affect something in installation process after that? Probably got my first try screwed by something (first attempt stopped after 30 minutes because Windows 7 reserved access to a file into install dir). Second attempt produced unusable installation. It has to be said though I had Nod32 running, even with protection disabled. That could be the cause. |
Lol ok install now is fine but game doesn't start.
I made a clean split from a Max Payne 3 installation with patch 1.0.0.29 + cure. Blocking that useless Social Club and logging in, games freezes at black screen with wide "MAX PAYNE 3" text. :D Trying a new installation + patch + cure and again new splitting with Nod32 completely turned off. :\ |
Blocking Social Club is not a wise idea, also run the game from 'PlayMaxPayne3.exe'
|
Ok solved, no clue on what cause installation issue on first try.
Second try went good; logging problem is related to a mis-uninstalling of Rockstar social club :D. Works great, thanks Rev0! |
conversion are Ok, but at the end of installation i need to manually install Social Club cause conversion didn't install automaticly and also copy profiles folder to my documents\Rockstar Games\Social Club
how to fix these problem ? sorry for bad eng. |

About the copy-paste thing.. Everytime you install social club, the values it'll add to reg key and documents are changing. Because of that, yes, you have to copy them manually, because there's no way to predict in what name it'll create folders and reg keys. |
