DAMN!

I see.....thx!

cr@zy_Killer 16-11-2005 09:44

The Image.....is that the .rar File or is it the .mds File? In other Boards it says that you need a very good .mds-Image to get the game to run....There is a mds-File in the rar-File but when I unrar it and try to mount it the Daemon Tools always tell me that this file isn't acceptable....

What can I do to work on Geforce MX?

Hello, i was having problem to make it work on my Geforce MX 440 64MB
When it started, the game stay in a white screen, then i put an older driver (the only who works), and it really works. I change the regedit like someone posts here, and it works fine. But there is only one big problem: The chars do not appear (the patch 1.1 sad that it would fix, but didn't here), anybody could help me please?

Thx a lot.

DABhand 16-11-2005 10:17

I take it you dont have the original. If you did you would see why you have a problem.

cr@zy_Killer 16-11-2005 10:46

aaaaaaaaaaaaaand what about the Image...? :D

Geforce 4mx ack..no way in hell that card will work...

Its not supported, not even the TI models work...sorry man, go pick up a Radeon 9800 or something, those are cheap these days.

klux 16-11-2005 15:45

The manual of the game says Geforce's MX don't works, but i made it, with this problem.. :(
Is there anythink i could do ?

Please help, i really wanna play this game.

DABhand 16-11-2005 16:24

Like I said, it doesnt support your card. There is nothing you can do, except buy a new graphic card.

This should be a hint for others, if you goto buy a game always read the minimum requirements, if not sure check online for what your card is and how old it is compared to the minimum card needed.

Buying a game cause you think it may work when it clarely states it doesnt, is like throwing money down the toilet.

I can confirm that Daemon tools 4 does not work with either 1.0 or 1.01. In fact I had 1.0 working with D3.47 + SR7 then I installed patch and tried to use DT4.... doesn't work. Asks for the DVD. I didn't unplug my CD/DVD drives though and I don't intend to.

To get this to work with the patch using only the game mounted in Daemon Tools and some registry modifications:

1. Find the 'Scsi Port #' key under HKLM\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\SCSI\ that corresponds with Daemon Tools (look at the Driver key for the Daemon tools driver name.) Either change the permissions to Deny everything for your user or group, or change the Driver value here to anything else. (Securom will look up the driver in another part of the registry so it doesn't fool it if you're not using the default Daemon Tools driver name.)

2. Find HKLM\System\MountedDevices and locate the registry key that corresponds with your virtual drive. For example: \DosDevices\G: is mine. Rename this key to anything else such as \DosDevices\G:.backup. Make sure that you do not deny any permissions to MountedDevices, otherwise Securom will indicate that a security module couldn't be activated.

3. Find HKLM\SOFTWARE\D-Tools and change the permissions to Deny everything.

If you still get the message about a security module that couldn't be activated, either you are denying permissions to something in the registry that you shouldn't be, you have another virtual drive program that it is detected whose presence you'll need to hide, or it's complaining about some other active program. For instance, if I have Regmon or NewsLeecher open, Securom complains. Why Securom would blacklist a Newsreader I don't know.

By the way, this worked for the latest FEAR patch as well. Some of these registry changes are reverted when you reboot and need to be reapplied. The change that hides D-Tools will prevent Daemon Tools from loading so make sure it's already running and change it back as necessary.

UPDATE: If, when you installed Alcohol or Daemon Tools, you kept the default names for the drivers, you'll need to uninstall and reinstall the software. This time, choose your own names for those drivers, because Securom is hard-coded to look for the default names. I uninstalled Alcohol and reinstalled it in expert mode (minus the StarWind iScsi service), choosing some random names for the drivers. Then I took the same steps I did for Daemon Tools (this time denying permissions on HKLM/Software/Alcohol Soft instead of HKLM/Software/D-Tools) and it worked.

Will this work for DT4 ?

Edit your post, no torrent links or anything torrents allowed here (i.e. no warez talk)

I got the game working with Daemon tools 4,
You need to go to the installation map and then right click on the exe file en then properties, after that you go to compatibility en you choose to run the game in Windows Nt 4.0 (service pack 5) , after that you mount the image in daemon tools 4 en then you simply run the game! :D

Have fun!!!

DABhand 17-11-2005 04:17

I didnt have any problem at all running mine without compatibility issues with DT4.

But as ive said, if you dont have a good image made then you will get problems.

XtremeX 17-11-2005 10:18

I've got patch 1.1 working :)

Just make sure you have no Alcohol virtual drive setup (so disable it in Alcohol)
Mount image in DT 4
Use SFNightmare & click "disable CD drives"

Then it works :)
