Well, I use the image in my main desktop without unplugging the drive and it work.

However for weird reasons, on my laptop I have to shut down the cd/dvd reader/writer, even with the same image and daemon settings. I didn't want to shut the only drive I had, so I disabled the drive letter of the physical drive in the Device Manager in the admins tool. I found out that It work for me and it save me some reboot :).

Somebody want to try this (not confirmed to work, yet)

Download Trial of Blindwrite 5 or 6 -> copy the linked profile of my last answer to the folder described -> enter last sector of BF 2142-DVD in profile (Size in bytes divided by 2048) -> create your damn image choosing that profile in BW -> give feedback

well, i tried it with no luck:

my last gap were

OR

depending if i get the size of files or the "size on disk" data on properties of the contents of my BF2142 DVD as my 2142 DVD reported a size of 3.512.553.705 bytes and 3.514.062.848 bytes ON DISK, i took both numbers to be safe and made 2 images (that were not MINI images, i can assure that :) )


tried both and none worked, any advise?

This image (as all Securom/Safedisc MI's of the near past) is no mini-, but a maxi-image, read THIS how to make maxi-images "mini" again by using windows compression on a NTFS partition

PS: Shouldn't there only be displayed "used space" instead of "size of files" or the "size on disk" in the properties of a disc

Copying safedisc and securom protected dvds with alcohol using RMPS emulation

With the release of v. 1.9.6.4629 of alcohol it is now possible to make RMPS emulation copies of safedisc protected dvds as well as securom protected dvds.

The method is the same (and new users should note that there are no datatypes to select when copying dvds with alcohol as they are unnecessary).

The method is simple. It is as follows:

Simply click on the image making wizard with the dvd to be copied in the drive. Check the options for "Skip read errors" and for "Data Position Measurement" and set Precision (for dpm) to "High" from the drop down box.

After you click next, a pop-up box will ask you for the dpm speed you want to use. Select "Max" and proceed from there.

Once the image is made, click on the image burning wizard and load the image you've just made from the .mds file. Click next and then select your burning speed and check the option for "Burn "RMPS" to recordable media. Then click Start to commence burning your image.

Note that the burnt dvd will require RMPS emulation to be enabled in alcohol (or Daemon Tools) emulation options for it to work.

Note also that it isn't presently possible to make a working back-up copy of a safedisc or securom protected dvd that will work without emulation because of the inability of dvd burners to write dvds in raw mode.

This is a crack for single player mode; it won't help you to play online (multiplayer mode) without the DVD...

Guys, forget about playing this game online without having an original copy. If you buy the game you can create ONE valid account to play online (One account per valid CD-KEY), is not the same thing as it was with Battlefield 2 anymore. After you have an account you can play anywhere, maybe with a non valid cd key too and a mini-image but im not sure. The only solution if you don't have an account is to use the crack from razor to play single player, lan or online via Hamachi. The crack from razor just avoid the game to get to the internet to check the account, so once the game thinks that there is no Internet available, it lets you play single or lan mode. Of course all this with the pre-created profile from the razor release of the game.

Multi5 means the language supported(5). SO it can usually be: english, french, german, spanish and italian. Just an example. For online multiplayer, you actually need the original, non-altered copy. That's why everybody is asking for the mini-image.The mini-image it's not making changes in your folder(the cracks are modified files, so they will be detected by the server protection; mini-images can be mounted in daemon tools, getting the game started, without being detected). What you need for online gaming is one ORIGINAL serial number and one mini-image who won't alter the files on your HDD.

Hi to the forum!!

First thing i want to say,
I´AM THE OWNER of a ORIGINAL Battlefield 2142-DVD, bought it last month in a shop!
So i´ve a valid key, a legimate account at EA-Battlefield, and play it all time online.

But it peeves me to put alltimes the DVD inside the drive when i want to play!
Let it inside the drive is not a good solution, because everytime you open the windows-explorer, the drive will beginn to run for a few seconds, totaly nerved

So i try to get a solution to avoid putting in the DVD into the drive everytime i want to play.

I´ve searched in the internet, and found a pach, Battlefield 2142 v1.10 SP [MULTI15] Fixed EXE at GCW, worked very well, and i was totaly satisfied!!!!

But then EA-Battlefield released the new patch 1.20
Now it was necessary to get a new patch to avoid the problem again to take in the DVD to the drive.
I tried Battlefield 2142 v1.20 SP [MULTI15] Fixed EXE at GCW, but it doesn´t work so good as the Battlefield 2142 v1.10 SP [MULTI15] Fixed EXE did.
Now unfortunately it´s not possible to play the game online, because i can´t get a connection to the server! :-(


While searching for solution, i´m ended up here in the forum


Now I´ve read a lot, but i did not found the working solution to play Battlefield 2142 ONLINE without the DVD inside the DVD-Player. :-(
Perhaps there is a solution, and i did not understand it? (my english is not very good,´i´m over 40 years old and shool is a long time ago, sorry!)

I tried to make a immage with A120 and load it in Vdrive,but that didn´t work

Perhaps is there anybody who can teach me how to play without the DVD into the drive anytime??

Remember, i´m the legitimate owner, with registration and valid key, only want to avoid loading the game every time at the drive.

but it seemed to me that the Battlefield 2142 v1.20 SP [MULTI15] Fixed EXE at GCW would be the patch for the new release of BF2142 patch 1.20.
Perhaps i didn´t understand the different, becuse Battlefield2142 is really the first game i play on computer!
So i never bevore was confronted with those "problems" and have no experience with them/it

But if i understood you right, it would be possible in the future to get a well working patch to play the game online again without loading the drive.
Till then i´ll have to load the drive

Isn´t it so, that then i also have to load the backup disk in my drive??? That wouldn´t be a different to me. I mean loading the original, or loading the backup, it´s the same to me. I won´t load a drive!
I have no experience with those things, so perhaps i´m a littel bit stupid with it to understand, sorry.

But i´ve tried to make an immage of the original with A120, version-1.9.5.3105. Then i load the immage in the virtual drive of A120, by using RMPS, but it doesn´t work!

I think i understand the trick now.
To do what Alien Firefox says, it would be possible to play with a backup-disk by emulating it in A120, i think that is what you mean?
But this was not my concern, because it makes no difference (to me) between loading the original or loading the backup.
Both options have to load a disk into the dvd-drive every time i want to play, right?
But exactly that i want to avoid!
I don´t need a backup, i only want to play without the dvd into the dvd-drive because it peeves me, not more.

I´ll try to make a immage with the newest A120-Version_ 1.9.6.4719 and loading it in the v-drive.
Perhaps it works, i´ll tell you!

That won't make a difference in vDrive; i was only refering to a burned copy :(

If Y.A.S.U. 1.07 and Pr0t.St0p 1.1 don't work for you with a mounted image try deactivating optical drives in device manager instead (better deactivate the whole IDE port if HDD with boot partition doesn't share same port)

RMPS is needed, agreed. But DPM isn't :p

When burning a Safedisc image (and only then) you can burn RMPS to media (not greyed out) without having performed a Data Position Measurement before - in contrast to Securom or other CPs for which a DPM is essential
