Joe, sorry about the mistake, I did edit my post. Off course it should have read v 1.08 to v1.15 and, yes I am using a full image to install the game at the beginning (I got the image from a friend - I don't know how he created it). :o

Acare84, Its not complicated at all. I was just trying to give a step to step explanation for people that struggle. Its actually the same way you do it. Just upgrade and use a mini Image with daemon together with CureRom. I didn't try Pr0tSt0p - it might also work. :rolleyes:
I also pointed out, especially for biglos187, that one should use a special mini image in order to get the game running in the first place. ;)

The reason why I personally use an Image is because my original CD is badly scratched and is not readable anymore. My friend was able to create an image though, but as I mentioned before I do not know how he did it. There are various programms available to rescue data on broken CD's and DVD's.
Anyway, as mentioned also, I did not experience any crashes with the way I start the game. That's why it is wise to upgrade to v1.15.:D

Are you trying to crack TQ, seeing that you ask for a key. It should be in your posession if you have an original copy! :rolleyes:

Hey guys,

When mounting the image file, does it matter what drive you have the game installed on? I'm getting an error after the image is mounted when I open Securom 1.2 saying that the virtual drive cannot be read correctly.

I can open other images just fine

I don't think it matters to what drive you install the game to. I use my default C: drive. Try using CureROM instead of Securom. I also experienced porblems with Securom - some emulators didn't work. :o

i got 1.15 to work perfectly with help from post #240 and others

1) install game
2) update to 1.15
3) right-click titanquest.exe and change to win2000 compatability
4) mount "Titan Quest [ENGLISH] No-DVD/Fixed Image #2" from gamecopyworld with daemon tools (all emulations off)
5) run alkisecurom.exe (download it) and double-click titanquest.exe

i didnt need Pr0t.St0p, but it has helped others...

Like hexum and many others said, I can confirm:

ALL versions (from 1.0 to 1.15) work with Mini Image (from bended) mounted and AlkiSecurom !

For those who have crashes (it doesnt matter which version 1.0 or 1.15) it has nothing to do with the
Copyprotection !
If you use the original disc you will have the same crashes !
The reason is your computer/Software in some way.

I (as well as others) played with every version as soon as they were released and never had a crash.
So I am quite lucky, that my comp seems to be OK for the game.
But dont blame the NoCD file or the "Emulation trick" wouldnt work.

They do work. (luckily) But as I said, it depends on your comp.
For example, I have connected my CD/DVD drives to my Raid controllers. Maybe thats the trick. I dunno.

Hey juergen, maybe it helps that you connected your dvd drive to a raid controller (I did it on another computer and it helped a lot with a lot of games). However, just to say that I've tryed 5 ou 6 different ways to get the version 1.15 running without the DVD and they all failed (not nice!).

The only thing left is the 1.15 fixed exe/no dvd exe talked about by cosmiq... I can't find it so I guess things will have to wait before I get of the dvd! :)

BUT, if you already have 1.08, you won't be able to use the 1.01 to 1.15 patch (inside this package). Still, not even the 1.08 to 1.15 will be good. At least for me, it didn't work.

So...i had to reinstall the game, apply the patch and then the crack. Finally no more crappy sound with Realtek ALC850, and no more crashes.

I downloaded the rar file from rapishare (above post).
Well, i got 283 funny files inside rar file.
They dont work for me (maybe because I have updated from 1.11 to 1.15 before).
I dont want to reinstall game like misterxibit did.

I hope this tricky thing helps you guys.

Yes it does work! Those funny files and the .exe are the crack. You just copy everything into your game directory. It doesnt work without those files. You have to copy them too, not just the .exe.

I played for 2 hours i think...but then....suddenly the game FREEZES to death. Had to reset the system. I'm sick of this game. 3 patches and still having crash problems!

Can't get this TITAN.QUEST.v1.15.CRACK-aSxDOX working....
 

- reinstalled the game
- applied the 1.01 to 1.15 patch
- copied the _asxdox dir to the game dir
- mounted the game with daemon tools (v4.03)

When starting the game I get the wrong disk error... :confused:

I just had to register and say thank you for this simple solution. I've been fighting with this game for a bit, and thanks to your post...I have won.

Damn...sorry guys, I forgot to put the cracked 1.15 exe in the archive. :D Here's the complete patch+crack.

It's A NoDVD and it works.

This works perfectly for me without setting win2k mode.
It never crashed once neither with 1.11 nor with 1.15.

hmm, so how the hell did it work for some people when you forgot to include the exe in the initial 'release'.... odd odd odd odd odd odd

i already had the 1.15 standalone patch, so i downloaded the crack from post #265 and the game starts without any problems, hooray for misterxzibit

Seems that this is some kind of a loader and the files in asxdox dir are dvd copy protection information.

Actually, the files in the "_asxdox" subdirectory seem to be small chunks of a cracked executable... A very innovative way of cracking, if I may add...! :D

hmm let me be the first to say this crack is shit heh
basically the code loads up, then virtualalloc's memory blocks
(with NO handling for failure... just a lame 'memory error' messagebox), then reads the file data into them
the dumped data is not dvd data as chron states, its basically
a dump of memory (virtualalloc hooked?) which they then reload again

needless to say if the virtualalloc fails (as they try and get the address on the same base as the dumped it from... which simply wont work on some pc's.. dll's might be loaded there etc..) then the entire thing will crash when that code is called...

the filenames of the files are the virtual memory address they were dumped from
and theres a lot of 00's which the cracker could have trimmed making the crack smaller, as virtualalloc'd memory is automatically zerofilled to begin with...

oh yeh and the data has the users environment dumped.. administrator... computer name flf, does noone even bother to crack properly anymore?

simple loader, injection approach... flawed

innovative... hardly, did you actually analyse it joe?.. its dumped vm fragments amongst other things...

I do not have the knowledge to figure out how this crack works so I just assumed what it is.

But to assume it is a loader was not wrong at all ;)

And so what TippeX? I mean... how should I/we care about the way it is done? It works and to the 8 hours of play I did, never crashed, bugged or hanged even once...

Even if it is not an innovation or even a new trick hackers do, it still does the job, no?

And, just for the record, the file size of those junky memory blocks (with the addition of the v1.15 executable) is about equal to the file size of the hacked executable for v1.08. I'm not a hacker but could it be possible that it was the exact same thing that was done before but instead of putting it in files, it was putted in the executable? Just a guess!

Anyway... Just to let who ever reads this to know that this hack works flawlessly... for me anyway! (And after testing all other methods: W2K compatibility, mini image, Curerom, Aika, asr and mixed of those methods; none of them worked, I really appreciate the guy/guys who did this!). Way a go!

well some of the data is indeed injected into the exe, as for it working, its debatable, try loading a dll into one of the addresses.. wont work.. you'll get a nice little messagebox, its poorly coded 'shell code' style crack

does the job, maybe for some, maybe not for others, and its hardly 'clean'm, the size of the data added together doesn't really matter, if the game shows 1.15 etc then i guess it is, but simply copying the code from 1.08 to 1.15 is very unlikely to work... so yeh, if you aren't a hacker then you shouldnt make baseless guesses..

as for explaining how it works, some people are probably interested in it.. and actually im surprised it hasnt given off a virus warning for someone...

Oh, I haven't analyzed it at all, today's copy protections are way beyond me... :) But, yes, the environment variables were pretty weird. Oh well, I don't like such hacks either but end users won't give a damn anyway IF it works... ;)

You will see it works for everybody. For me as well.
There is no negative post.

So why all the critics from you ?
Even if the crack would be a Basic64 language or a handwritten paper or whatever. ;o)
Man it works !! Thats what counts for all the guys here in the forum.
Accept it and enjoy. Leave the criticizes to the politicians...

To round up the thing (cause the readme file is missing in misterxzibits rar file):
Leave the 283 funny files in the _asxdox directory and put the directory together with the titanquest.exe in your titanquest game folder. Thats it.

If you don't like the crack by aSxDOX don't use it. You have you original DVD, right? Else, why don't you crack it and provide a nocd ?

So use your original DVD or stop complaining. aSxDOX crack works great
