And if i save The game
I can't load it ?
If i load the Half-life 2
I am playing alone

And i can't go to 2nd stage

so i have the retail version. the only problem is that i don't have internet, isn't there some crack that makes me play hl2 without the steam or something that make steam execute in offline mode???? please i cannot play i bought it 3 weeks ago!!!!

It clearly says on the box that an Internet Connection is required!
Go to a friends house who has Internet connection (or go wherever you used the internet to post your question) and activate it from there. You only need an Internet connection to activate but you dont need the internet to actually play.
There is an article on the Steam website on how to do this! ;)

Sometimes it's more easy to use your computer at work to visit FileForums than to install and play HL2 on the corporation's LAN. And then you must play at home... ;)

Quick question. I bought this game a couple of days ago Half life2. I play the game without conecting into the steam acount. It gives me the option to play the game without out visiting the servers. My question is how many time could i do this until it forces me to visit steam servers? Thanks. Does anybody know.

I'm using my brother's pc to post here and he doesn't let me install hl2 on his pc, of course i have my pc but to play iot i will need to get on-line on steam just toi make login and activate offline play! Valve sucks and steam is a ****!i'm going to download the no-steam version and sell my copy to a friend! :mad:

So your brother wont let you install Hl2 but he will let you download the Steam Version? Why dont you just take your PC to his house and just use his internet connection to install and activate? Would probably be the easiest option. ;)

that's what i'm going to do when i get my MSI RX9800PRO to run hl2 hehehe

hijack hl2...will it mess up my game?
 

if i put hijack hl2 on my computer, can i still log into steam? or does this bypass steam and fool your computer into thinking it is logged in? also, can i use hijack and still be on the net? i don't fully understand what i can do while using it. thanks.

If you had read this thread you would know that valve released a patch so you no longer need the Disc in the drive to play so why would you want to use Hijacks Crack?

First i dont know what version i have ? .. i know when i click HL2 it takes me right into stupid steam.. and it tells me how i can buy there games .. i cant find out how to just play the game? was i not suppose to install steam? i tryed downloading the file from game copy world Hijack .. but i put it in the file that steam is in ? and they just sit there .. they do not get replaced? b/c its exe.dev so it does not replace any of the files? please direct me in a way i can go ! thank

O yea .. let me also say .. WINDOWS XP! .. and i get no errror .and it never asked me to put any cd in? .. i just try and click hl2 or counter strike and they both take me into steam where it offers me steam games .. or how to buy half 2 ? pleas help

hi i bought hl2 recently and when i tried to play it it asked for the serial.
i inserted the serial and it said it had already been used.
i was thinking if one of you guys can give me their steam acc. and pass.(with hl2 registered)for 5 seconds so i could install hl2

If what you say about you cdkey already being used were true, and if this had happened to me, I would be back to the place I had purchased it from demanding a full refund!! Do you really think someone who has paid for the game is just simply going to give their account details to you for you to use! It really appears to me that you were NOT thinking! :(

If you have bought the game and the serial is in use then you should return it, or contact Valve to get a working key... Lending out a steam account will not work!

does ne1 know of a crack for steam so tht wen u install HL2 u can just type the cdkey in and not insert the dvd? bcos i dont have a working DVD drive but i have HL2 on dvd n it says insert HL2 DVD 2 continue installation....

Maybe you should return the DVD to the place of purchase and swap it for the 5 CD version? Or purchase a new DVD player as they are extremly cheap now! Even in the UK.
Once you do manage to install HL2 then update it online and then you will not need to use the CD/DVD to play! ;)

cheers but it past the time 2 return it n they nowher ive seen stocks the 5 CD version, otherwise i'd of got it, n yeh im gonna get a dvd drive wen i get sum money, but i wer jus wonderin if there wer a patch.... :)

I really dont understand how you expected to get a patch which would install HL2 without inserting the DVD anyway? Where exactly did you think the install was going to come from if its on the DVD that you cant use??

what happened is i asked my mum wen she went shopping 2 buy it 4 me, she brought it on DVD-ROM without realising n then i dint get a chance 2 return it....

I just wanted to ask something abount conter strike source included on half life 2 I have listen this game the multiplayer portion of halflife2 but cat cs source be played offline too like hl2 or is it only multiplayer?

At the moment CounterStrike: Source is only MultiPlayer.
Valve is planning to make it possible to play it alone with a lot of bots, but this options isn't already available.

Are you thinking about HL2 DeathMatch? Counter-Strike: Source has had bots for months now... :)
