Ok my solution does not work for me anymore since today.
And yes u have to prepare the image first as said before in some posts.
May i repeat it for u:

First of all u need an image of the anno dvd. Then download virtual cd 8 ( demo or something ). Ok now u make a "virtual cd image" with virtual cd 8 out of ur anno image. I have done this per mounting my anno dvd image with demon tools and rightclick at the demon tools mounted dvd and commanding him making an virtual cd image. U will receive a folder with plenty files in it.
Now u need to replace 1 of this files with the file u downloaded as "the crack".
there is only 1 file with a similar ending. I got "ANNO1701.vc4" in there and my crack was called "ANNO1701.vc6" so i renamed the crack to "ANNO1701.vc4" and replaced it with the file in the folder.
This thing is now your prepared image and that is what you need to do first before you can even start trying how to get that whole thing to work. - this is just a summary out of the "guides in this thread" but some ppl may not want to read all of the thread so -

Here are now many theories of how it may work. I tested em all and all worked somehow but only sometimes, most of the time the computer will crash and u have to restart. So chose one methode in here and try it untill u got in the game. As i mentioned before in this post my methode does not work for 100% either -.- as i thought it would sorry i was just lucky i guess. :p
