works this method with starforce on dvd ?
and how can i make a working mini image of the image.

must i make on dvd a dpm measure ?

Luci 11-10-2004 11:52

use alcohol 120 to make a starforce 3 image.unplagg cd/dvdz and load the image to the LATEST alcohol or daemon toolz.then play.if it's on dvd?well i believe for this game it doesn't matter.
not all games play with this method

ente 11-10-2004 12:29

the game that i try is on a 4,6 gb dvd and on dvd i can not select the starforce profil the resulting mds file is 4 kb big an does not work.

when i clear the 4,6 mdf and save it as bin/cue an renamen as the same name the 4,6 image and trash the cue and take the mds daemon/alcohl says the image are invalid.

i believe that in the first page 1st topic it's the mini image you need to play the game...download the mini image and mount it on virtual drive.

'Unplugging' IDE Drives (Laptop)

Quite interesting method to beat SF3 with a mini image instead over LAN-
until now I always went with my original SF Games (or Game- Toca2),
but now I think I will try to avoid further DJing with my original CDs too-
only Prob is I can't think of an effective method to disable my IDE Drive other than unplugging its power (which is no option since I play on a Laptop).
So my question: Other than disabling WinXP file protection (which I think is very interesting, but I only want to go this far if nothing else works- why does it fool SF, anyway?), are there any alternative methods to fully disable your IDE Drives under WINXP(didnt find any in a forum search)?
Thanks in advance for any help!

I SEARCHING THE TOOL WITH THEN I CAN MAKE A DPM MEASUREMENT FROM A DVD GAME WITH STARFORCE 3

I seek a tool to make a dpm measurement as with soldiers and toca. I look NOT for the mini images. do I do so badly express myself? :( :( :(

Luci 12-10-2004 07:26

well...you need alcoholer 4.1.it's a multiprofiler.select the alcohol tab starforce 3 protection and start alcohol(the dpm is high if you select sf3)when you make the image down to the right select alcoholer as prtection.that's all

oh sorry mate didn't see that you want to do it on dvd games.well don't know

Euuzao 12-10-2004 17:19

Saursveppur 03-11-2004 07:15

Has anyone gotten this method working for Gangland?

donkman 02-01-2005 16:06

tnx for trying

Either it works or it doesn't, well here it does not, sorry to say.
I appreciate your work and don't want to complain in any way.
But what is forgotten ?

Followed all your steps and it doesn't do the trick.

Downloaded the files, disabled the drives (made a profile which starts
without the drives, virtual is still there)
Mounted the image in deamon. When starting the game
it says: Game installed correctly, would you like to reboot now ? YES/NO
It does not help to reboot, after reboot start the game gives the same ....
And that's what it does, nothing more.

Deamon is on autostart/automount. So it should be there when wanting to
start the game. No sirree. It does not...

So what's there to be done?

Did you actually un-install BOTH the power and IDE cables for all DVD/CD drives? I was only able to play once I removed all cables. Disabling the drive in the BIOS does not work...

donkman 03-01-2005 04:49

Thanks ender.wiggin for your reply.

See, that's what I mean, I disabled the drives in Device Manager, more not.
And that does not work. And really disabling the drives by taking off the
power and really remove the cables is too much of a hassle. I don't intend to
open and close my pc all the time. It would be different if I had a pc for
SHOWW2 only.

OK, this is clear to me and this provides no solution for me. Hope someone
finds out a way to make a nocd-solution which is like with other games.

I just want to play SHOWW2 via LAN with my son and wasn't exactly planning
on buying the game twice....

Still, thanks for clearing this up.
