1. Paying for cracks - modified versions of game data - is obviously illegal.
2. You won't know the person - a professional cracker - who created the crack anyway.

Hello Everyone!

This is my first post on these forums, so that explains the title. Ill make this as short as I can. I tried everything here to get my game to run w/o CD, but maybe I messed up somewhere. I have installed a fresh copy of The Guild 2 v 1.20 uk. (Game runs nice with the cd btw) And i tried makeing mini disk images but when i mount and run them with procyon, asr, or alkisecurom I get this securom error saying the game wont run off back up disks (1000). I tried disconing my dvd drive and mounted in newest Daemon tools version with many combinations of emulations and settings. i think its a bad mini image. the one i got from the forum link back on one of the pages, but im not sure. ill ask for the other mini image they discussed and try agian. i must have done 1000 attempts to get this to work, about to give up. ttym for any reply.

I know how to get this game working, but it's a little involved. Spent the last couple hours trying to figure it out. It works with 1.2 without any cracking or anything.

What you need to do is run Daemon tools and load the mini-image. When you try to run the game, it'll come up with a box that asks you to enter the correct CD in your REAL CD drive. Leave this box open, then disable your CD drive and through daemon tools change the letter of the VIRTUAL drive to what the REAL drive used to be. Re-enable your CD drive, then hit retry. It'll spin for a bit then it should load fine.

You have to do this every time you want to load the game though...So, a good solution for now!

ceferiel 04-11-2006 06:59

can you please possibly give me a link to the mini image? or send me it somehow ? :(

Jamil1982 04-11-2006 07:58

It's at Removed

You may have to swap your drive letters twice before it will take. I've noticed that it won't take if my virtual drive is letter D:

So just load the mini-image in Daemon tools and swap your drive letters around by disabling your physical drive, and then mapping your virtual drive to the letter the game is looking for. Just remember you have to re-enable your physical drive for it to work.

shadowrem 04-11-2006 12:53

pls send me one or upload thks Myrmiand

took me an horu to figure out why my game wouldnt patch 1.2.... had to install 1.1 english first.... the 1.x is a lie! lol for english anyways gotta have 1.1

ceferiel 04-11-2006 20:37

i have a problem that im trying to do this CD-letter-swapping, but ive got errors like :
"Conflict with Emulation Software detected.
Please visit blabla link to see what the heck"
I have just the OK button (he talks in the link about the fact that securom wants me to insert original disc, not a mini-image) but there is no retry button so i have no time to switch letters. :(

Please help me with this issue.
Thanks in advance.

i need help peoples, last night i downloaded demo of The Guild 2 and the loading went fine, absolutetly no lagg at all even i set some settings at high. However when i got the game downloaded today, after i install it and apply version 1.1 crack to The Guild 2, the loading took a long time and the game was laggy when i had my settings at normal.

Would you guys think version 1.1 has a bug and consumes alot RAMs or something because the demo was fine, unless the demo's spec did not expected that much which im not quite sure.

Was anyone in the same situation as i am because my computer could run the demo smoothly and i dont know why the full version was laggy.

BTW at installation, the blue bar did not show it was blank but i can see files been installed to the directory and it went like this through out the whole installation untill it finished. Would you think i downloaded the wrong The Guild 2????

Thx in advance.

Joe Forster/STA 05-11-2006 06:58

@ceferiel: Uninstall or deactivate the CD emulation softwares you have installed. Read the forum FAQ for more infos.

@intel: Banned, forum rule #1.

Jamil1982 05-11-2006 09:43

If it's telling you that you have emulation software, then just disable it. Securom can detect it, so just turn off your hiders or whatever. If not, run the latest version of the emulation software. As far as I can tell, you don't need anything other than something that allows you to load images on to a virtual drive and specify what letter the drive will take.

shadowrem 05-11-2006 12:48

yo Jamil, can u pls elaborate a bit more? i dont really get it...u mean disable daemon izit? thks

ceferiel 05-11-2006 13:08

thanks a lot :)

now another problem. When i get that 'please insert original disk' window with 'reply' button i disable my cdrom drive.
i get into disc management, and it doesnt see both cd-drives (i have 2, D and E).
but the thing is i cannot change daemon tools virtual drive letter to D, its like reserved even though he senses no D drive.

i tried to change drives to J , and daemon tools image to K, but again, i couldnt change K into J even though i disabled the disc and he couldnt see it.

strange :X

shadowrem 05-11-2006 13:17

forget it, i figure it out oredi, just turn all emulation options on. Jamil, dunno how u figure it out but u the man! thks

Jamil1982 05-11-2006 13:50

Are you sure you're disabling your drive properly? You have to go through device manager and right click->disable

Do it for both of your drives. DT should let you change your drive letter to what it used to be. Mine does.

I disabled the drive... physically. You know i pulled cables off it in the computer. (i heard that disabling it from disk manager might destroy the drive  )

I thought thats what you meant by "physical disabling" :)

vpsycho 08-11-2006 03:59

i have a version of normal crack exe.but cause of version 1.2 patch i cant play guild 2.i need version 1.2 crack.i still cant play cause of this.can someone tell me is there another option for play guild 2?

Joe Forster/STA 08-11-2006 04:05

Re-install the game to get back to version 1.0, or use your original DVD until a crack for version 1.2 is released. (Or create a full image - see the forum FAQ and the guides it linkes to.)

ceferiel 09-11-2006 13:27

even though i successfully switched the letters, i had this emulation software thing when i hit retry. he claims that im using mini-image (of course i do, maybe its inproper one? im using one from *************.com)

Jamil1982 11-11-2006 12:05

What version of Daemon Tools are you running? Make sure it's the latest one which is version 4.06HE and turn on the securom emulation option.

TippeX 11-11-2006 13:36

emulation options are ONLY for burned disks, the settings have NO effect for images mounted...

Joe Forster/STA 11-11-2006 15:00

Yes, and this information has even been added to the forum FAQ a week or so ago... (Wow, got too much free time! :D)

mariachi 11-11-2006 15:34

i get the same thing...conflict with emulation softver...i uninstalled alcohol, got only deamon running, i tried everything, with changing the latters as described but it wont work, always the same conflict,...

sin176 12-11-2006 16:58

apparently v1.2 has a securom upgrade, i have tried all the images the install/uninstall patches method fooled around with DT4.06 settings disabled physical drives used procyon and asr now i only get the dont use a backup cd message (1000) any ideas?

sin176 12-11-2006 17:27

ok got it use the 50mb image DT4.06 all emu off only secure mode download YASU_102b_DT406 from here and just use your v1.2 exe runs intro movies and all
damn worked on it all day almost

mariachi 12-11-2006 22:32

It Works Finally...I used the programa Prot.Stop 1.0 together with disabling this cd-dvd drive and changing latters...
-run Prot.Stop v1.0
-click hide and exit the program
-just change the latters in your deamon tools after disabling the drive as discribed
-enable the drive and run the game

an4o 13-11-2006 08:47

sin176

I don`t know how to download it could you possibly explain me , or someone else.. Thank you in advance:)

Joe Forster/STA 13-11-2006 09:28

mariachi 13-11-2006 13:29

the game keeps breaking down every time im the evenings ingame hours...i just cant reach the next day...is it a bug, or is it this cracking...

logician 13-11-2006 15:18

Finally got this to work too, after trying all the various suggestions from this and other threads. Phew.

Drive letter changing? Disabling of physical drives? Mounting stuff to optical drive? Downloading, running & hiding XXX virtual drive tools and whatnot? jesus. None of that ** was even necessary. :-&

Submitting the way that worked for me to GCW now, hope it helps. Guess it would've worked for us all via Image+Securom loader right away, if only the image which I think mostly everyone here was using at first...*cough*..., worked with the game's newer versions. So there, different image -> works fine right away.

Now off to play, but still frustrated with all the bugs in v1.20... I start getting angry at Jowood & Co. IMHO they actually show way more criminal behaviour than most people around here, seeing that this is already the...3rd or 4th game in a row I see from them, in such bad condition post-release.

They should produce an Xbox or PS3 game just once, just to see what happens to your sales numbers when you can't patch your game and calm down customers easily by telling them "everything" is going to be fixed eventually.

Joe Forster/STA 13-11-2006 16:08

Solution: Don't buy Jowood games (and tell people around you to do the same) until they become... khm... "mature" enough, to be played without annoying problems. In short, show your frustration by boycotting them!

Well then if you got a good image , why don't you u/l it somewhere and link us up , so that we can all enjoy the crap that JoWood came up with ? Some of us are still trying to get this damn game to work through asr , procyon, yasu and what not..

shadowrem 14-11-2006 16:03

logician, where can i see the way that work for u? have u submitted it yet? thks man
