What's the difference between uncracked and protected ? o.O

Weird stuff with cracked exes which slow down whereas the retail one works fine ?

yeh protected = the virgin exe (ie: securom)
cracked = well, cracked ;)

probability is the crack was badly done, vm not handled 'perfectly' so weird shit happened etc.. it was definitive though, game was practically unplayable using the cracked exe

The Activemark EXE will also be checking the trial time every minute and updating stuff while it runs, so that will steal some CPU time too.

yeh though activemark would generally be less intensive than vm code.. so it shouldnt be as bad a performance hit... all differs from pc to pc though.. diff configs = diff results = diff headaches :)

what get's me about the lag is that if you download the demo..it is gonna lag like the real game...funny thing is that they released a patch for the demo and the game flies normal.

So i think that eidos deliberately released a broken game in order to prevent piracy..wish i knew what was in the demo patch that fixed everything i would translate that to my game....

but anyways we need a proper no dvd patch everything i tried so far does not work...

Is there a proper crack for 1.02?

I also found a crack for version 1.02 some weeks ago.
It should be the detonation crack (hbm12-dtn).

the patch of the demo affected something because the game ( demo versionz) worked fine after that with no lag at all...I think somebody should look into what is included in the file installer for the demo patch and see if something more than the actual exe of the game is changed...i think there is but to do that you need to decompile the installeshield installer file and then see what is included in the demo patch from there people could maybe work a solution out...i think a faulty or badly coded dll is at fault here...something that may have slipped by....

It`s weird that eidos would release patched that don`t work since they knew with the demo that they had sever graphical glitches and that they actually fixed them...

A bit off topic. I ran HMB v1.0 at release with my old X800GTO and welcome to lag-land. Now I tried v1.2 with my new X1900XT. Works just a tad better... :-)

DABhand made reference to load/save/exit issues with Hitman Blood Money.

We have just purchased the game and have exactly these problems:

1. game fails to identify last saved game
2. when exiting the PC freezes

If there is a thread with an answer to these problems then could someone please post the link.

You can try making your own mini image, see this FAQ post!

Does the game work correctly with the original 1.2 patch and EXE? If the game will not work with both crack and original file then it's either a game bug or your PC and then it's off to seek support from the publisher!

Vista?

The crack jake06 posted is by maciozo who used to release his Activemark cracks on this board. That crack is an Activemark crack too like the Detonation 1.2 so not sure about Vista compatibility.

Only one way to find out and that's to try it!!

Tried cracks for it, always gave me a crash, bought Hitman, but uninstalled it :D
