i think the problem is with the mini-image...
i think the mini-image is from cd version, not dvd version...

can be that the problem?

Finally I got it to work for me...

Here is what I did.. first of all I had the problem, that even after a reinstall the sweaw.exe file was missing in the gamedata folder..

I googled sometime and found it here.. It seems to be a fixed .exe file

Version 1.0 :

I used the 1.0 version. I guess the 1.2 is for the game if updated... Not sure though, since I d/l 1.0 and I am using the 1.0 version of the game.

Then I downloaded Deamon Tools 4.0.3.... after getting the 110 mb Miniimage..

I mounted it using all options on "On"... Then I downloaded the SecuRom from the link posted somewhere before... Opened it, used the .exe file from above to start and it worked... No problems at all using this method..

I have the double CD version, not the dvd version.. Got it as to blindwrite4 images...

Oh and dont hesitate to use the sweaw.exe if its missing in your folder.. It is indeed a german page, but I also have the english version of the game..

It might be, that the miniimage only works with the CD version of the game.. Not sure though.. A friend of mine has the game on dvd.. I will test that later this week.

Wow and another thing. I installed it on the pc of my friend.. If you try to start the game by using the sweaw.exe it tells you "Emulator detected" and will not run.. Guess thats what SecuRom is there for.

Hey everyone- finally got it to work after playing about with it for a little while.

Here is what I have on my PC at present and I'm running the game fine on WinXp Pro with all the latest patches installed.

Appz you will need to get the game working- make sure they are fully installed before beginning this procedure
Latest versions of Alcohol 120%, Daemon Tools & CureRom
Securom 7 Burner Loader
The game is also fully installed to my games HD

You need to have an image of the game discs on your HD before we begin and also install the game fully onto your HD.

Here is what I have done to get the game working...

Mount the first discs image into Alcohol 120% with the following emulation options- Ignore Media (unticked) Launch CD/DVD (unticked) RMPS (ticked)
Extra emulation- all options (ticked)

Close Alcohol 120%

Daemon Tools is NOT running on my system at present and all emulation in Daemon Tools is DISABLED

Go to where you have installed the game on your HD, and go into the gamedate folder where you will see the sweaw.exe file.
Right-click it and choose properties, click compatibility and change the compatability mode to 'Run in Win NT 4.0 SP5 Compatability mode'
Click apply and ok.

Now- you need to run CureRom LITE and click the ENABLE box.

Now- fingers crossed everyone.
Go back into where you installed the game and go into the gamedata folder yet again, now double click the sweaw.exe file.

If its worked- your mouse pointer will change to a round black object!
If its done that- your up and running.

Im able to pass all the movies when the game starts but then it gets to the black screen with the small blue loading bottem left cornet ... axo the i have a Execption Erro , 4 me to see a log file,

A lot of people seem to be having problems with the bugginess of the game, myself included. You should update to 1.2, even though I doubt it will solve all the problems for you.

Did you download this title too before you decided to buy it??

People I had the same problems like you having..
sat on this for 3 wonderful days guessing from where should I attack this problem and get this great game to work..so here it how it's done ..u should check it

1. Download the Mini Image file (admins i wanna upload it to gcw..how can I?)
2.move the files to the game folder where U installed the game
3.Mount it on DT4! and use only RMPS! the file is "EAW_1.bwt"
4.after mounting ..i know it is a little slow SO WHAT!! the game is working! use the SecuROM_loader 1.1
5. open with it the exe game file U've just installed on your computer
6 ENJOY A GREAT!! GAME

@DABHand: "appz" is shorter than "software application". And, guess what, at my work place, we have a network share called "warez" on our central file server which contains the install packages of the legally bought softwares we use. :D

The whole day i sat in front of the stinky net in order to find a crack for the game!!!

My original CD has allready too many scratches :eek: ... I although tried Alc and the other stuff... Need help now or i have to jump outa window!!! God help us with a workin' crack!!! soooon!!!

Let me repeat: If you can't launch the game without a mini image, complain at the publisher! (Since you're from the USA, I assume you understand plain English, right?) This is NOT a general game support forum.

By the way, is the reason for your need for a mini image that you don't have the original CD/DVD?

Everything worked great using pr0t.stop until I updated the game to new patched version. Now when I try to run it in windows 2000 compatibility mode with pr0t.stop, I get that stupid "Could not authenticate disk" error... Anyone have any ideas?

I have to say as well- isnt it funny when I posted my message on the Legacy forum there was no patch out for Law & Order: CI ... then after the message about 2 days- lo and behold.. a patch is out.

In this case LucasArts acually gives a crap about its customer and supports them, hence the patches already for certain bugs.

Legacy, still for me are in the dark ages.

-Mount the mini-image downloaded from Slom's post on page 12 (thanks Slom!) using DT4
-run sweaw.exe in GameData\ using AntiSecuROM
-Kill Rebel Scum

AMD 64 3000+
R9800pro 128mb
SB Audigy LS
Dvd burner
3 PATA and 1 SATA drive
DVICO HDTV tuner card
1gb ram
win xp pro 32-bit (not game enough to try 64-bit version.. 32 bit works just fine)

I don't have to hide drives, or disconnect them (*Cough*prince of persia the two thrones*Cough*)
I don't have to use CureROM, and I don't think the DT4 emu opts matter.

I've installed Patch 1.04 and tesed all the Szenarie posted her with the Mini Image and the greater Image (posted from Slog) in this thread, but nothing will work for me.

Only the Tip with CureROM LITE can't teste, cause i've found no Link oder Page to download this Prog (only CureROM, and it's installed).

By the Way i use the DVD CE from the Game in German Language and it seems to me that all Versions they here teste ar the English Version.

Any Idea too bring on the Game running without the DVD or CD inside ??

Ups...sorry i've forgot to post the CurROM Version (where was my Head ?? :D ).

Yes i've only found CurROM 2.0.2 and it seems that in this Version is only CurROM and no CureROM Lite.

Securom looks for the CureRom.exe process. A simple fix is to rename the C:\Program Files\CureRom\CureRom.exe file to something else (like "Crom.exe"). Then run this file and it will re-associate the CureRom profiles with it. Now Securom won't complain about it anymore when using an image. I used this to run Stronghold 1.3.1 and SWEaW 1.04, it works for both.

ack - just rename the CureROM.exe - nice hint :)

BTW - i've made a maxi-image (tested with the german version of the game) - it's available on gcw soon (i think :cool: )

I am here to say that I tried this image with my english version of the game, and it SUCCESFULY WORKED. I thank you for this wonderful fix.

i,ve also downloaded the image done all that it say changed the compatibility mode to win200 and it says ''Security Node could not be activated (700)''
EDIT: ok it was antiblah,but it now says ''the original disc could not be indentifid want to retry?''

After some Trials it will now work.

Here my Part to get the Game working without the CD /DVD:

1. Disabled the AntiVirus Tool.
2. Start Pr0tSt0p an click HIDE.
3. Start Deamon Tools, select all Emulation ON.
4. Mount the Image with Deamon Tools.
5. Start the Game with the CUREROM Shortcut.

It seem that the first Step is Important when running a AnitVirus Protection Tool an the PC, cause the AntiVirus Protection Tool wil scan the Files from the mounted Image.
This will cost Time, so the Error "Faild to read the Orignal Disk by Time" will Popup.

Hey where did you get Prot.Stop from. Can you post a link.
