Right I know I'm repeating myself here, but I'm just gonna run through all issues thus far:

You've totally uninstalled the game
You've then reinstalled it
The image is mounted on the virtual drive and then Daemon Tools closed
Dameon Tools is then totally exited from right clicking the taskbar option.
You're loading up Anti-blaxx, and the settings are:

Daemon Tools: c:\**WHEREVER YOU INSTALLED IT\daemon.exe
Security: SecuROM 5
Image: Path to the ind-fm2006.mds file
Game: c:\**WHEREVER YOU INSTALLED IT\fm.exe
It's set to use Daemon Tools and not Alcohol 120%

You right click the antiblaxx icon, choose "Run Game" take the only option (the one you just made) and nowt happens?

You should see 8 cmd boxes appear, and disappear again quite quick. Then nothing happens. For quite a while, but if you press CTRL+ALT+DEL, then click on Processes, you will see the fm.exe process running, just be patient.

Duble check all thats right, if you have problems still, I have just installed it on my work PC to check my methods, and took screenshots of every step. It's working fine.

Just say the word and I'll post the screenshots.

Just registered to post a quick thanks, tried about 20 solutions and yours is the only one that worked! :)

Now, anyone any ideas how to force it to run in windowed?

Make a shortcut to the fm2006.exe and right click it and select properties. Now add to the end of the target line -small_screen -windowed.
So it should say exactly this in target:
"C:\Program Files\SEGA\Football Manager 2006\fm2006.exe" -small_screen -windowed or whatever your shortcut is

Thanks!

harestyle 24-10-2005 09:35

i appear to have cracked it (no pun intended)

you need to rename the .mdf & .mds to

"fm2006.mdf" and "fm2006.mds"

i had the same problems you did, but did the above and follwed the instructions left here previouly and it works now

huzzah!

whateverandever1982 24-10-2005 09:45

BTW I am guessing after

I install the game and the patch before continuing

Make sure your image is .mdf format, from Alcohol 120%
Install Daemon Tools, mount the .mds image and EXIT DAEMON TOOLS. This means it should NOT be running in your taskbar at all!
Install and run AntiBlaxx. Right click on the icon in your taskbar and click on Settings.
Click the button next to Deamon Tools in the popup window and browse to the .exe file.
In the "Protection" box select "SecuROM 5"
Click the button next to the "Game" field and browse to the fm.exe file wherever you installed the game.
Tick the box that says "Mount Image", make sure that the circular box next to Daemon Tools to the right of this is selected, then click the button next to the Image box and browse to the mds file. Finally make sure device is set to Device 0 (assuming you didn't ceate additional virtual drives in Daemon Tools)

When all this is done, make sure Daemon Tools IS NOT RUNNING and right click the anti-blaxx icon, go up to Run Game and select the only one in there (default name is simply Gamename).

Now it will seem like nothing is happening. Double click the FM2006 shortcut on your desktop and an error box apppears saying the game is already running. Click the button to close that error message and wait a moment, the game will load. After that you should be able to run it from antiblaxx everytime you want to play.

This works well for me! I made the image of 752mb yesterday.. then I did exactly what you describe, only I let Daemon Tools run... Fm started one time without cd.. I quit and wanted to play again, and nothing worked... I uninstalled Daemon/Alcoholic/Antiblaxx.. and installed it again, now I did exactly what you mentioned here above and it works!! I quit FM and played again several times, and it's still working!! :D
Thank you!

whateverandever1982 24-10-2005 10:07

Ok, I got it working, then I quit and tried it again and then FM loaded but only a black screen and then it came up with the 'pls insert correct' cd error so now it doesnt load at all, I give up with this now.

ArsenalFc 24-10-2005 10:10

Right I THINK that may be related to the empty virtual drive Daemon Tools created.

Go to Add/Remove programs and have a little looksee if it's still listed

whateverandever1982 24-10-2005 10:21

Its not listed

This is what it looks like, the dvd drives

http://img46.imagevenue.com/img.php?...mage=3da_j.jpg

Just loads up a black screen as I say and every now and then will bring up the please insert the correct cd error

unleashedmaniac 24-10-2005 10:44

Does anyone have an idea to what the problem could be with my earlier error, with the game crashing before it has even started and with the error about accomptant.txt?

Quote me where I asked for help?

TippeX 24-10-2005 13:40

being pedantic hardly wins you any votes...

ArsenalFc 24-10-2005 14:04

Right, the method I had working stopped after I restart my machine and I had to reinstall the damn game, think it was cos of antiblaxx.

But I got it going.

Download S4h here

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ZIYQ0U73

Open Daemon, Mount the image, leave Daemon open
Run S4H
Click Hide
Run the game

manuello7 24-10-2005 15:20

I'm sorry I don't wanna fight with anyone in here. Peace out to everyone, as soon as I get my copy I'll try to make a mini image of it.

problems with football manager 2006

hey [new to the forum!!]

i recently got fm 2006, what a great game and have been reading what u guys do to run the game without the cd. its great , so i did it, got the image in mds and mdf files and then loaded it on to daemon and ran the game after changing compatability to windows nt service pack 5.

so all was going great.....but then...

come Jan 2006 (in the game - specifically 6th jan if anyone else gets the same error) - the game shuts down after an error . its a windows error that creates a dmp file in the program files folder for the game.

now everytime i load my save up again, the error appears, exactly the same day. its really annoying because i cant get past the 6th.

does anyone else have the same problem and could anyone advise on what to do?

thanks
ilyas

ArsenalFc 25-10-2005 00:57

Try turning of compatibility mode and using the link in my last post instead of antiblaxx

unleashedmaniac 25-10-2005 01:03

Hi, ArsenalFc, i see you know what your doing, shame i don't,lol. Anyway, it's still not starting and just coming up about the program encountering an error and needing to close, the only difference in the error report are the numbers and letters changing (98fd_appcompat.txt). If you could give me any ideas to why this is happening i would be very grateful, i have tried reinstalling and still no luck.

pulse89 25-10-2005 02:43

Hi,
I would like to know whether my save game in FM2006 (using the cd image) can work in my original FM2006 game (using the original cd to install) ?

Thanks

ArsenalFc 25-10-2005 04:21

Pulse - Yes it will. Any tactics you had for FM2005 can also be opened by FM2006 but I dont think training routines can.

Unleashed, what O/S you on? I actually know a lot less than it seems, I just share everything I DO know!

WayToGo 25-10-2005 04:44

dude. this nick is for u.. i reg jus to say a BIG THANKS! :o

ArsenalFc 25-10-2005 05:24

Cheers for all the thanks guys, but can you use the reputation thingy? The little scales in the top right of the posts.

Just so that I get an idea of how many people this helped and as a form of "proof" that I'm here to help.

pulse89 25-10-2005 05:29

Hi Arsenal FC
I'm using Windowx Xp Pro
By the way, I'm getting "your FM memory is running on low memory. Please free up some memory"
Does the computer tend to use more memory if I use the image file instead of installing the real game using the cd?

ArsenalFc 25-10-2005 05:33

I really don't know, possibly. I've not had that myself, but try pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL, going to processes and closing anything you don't NEED open, like wmplayer or realshed. The less background processes running, the more memory with which to operate the game

pulse89 25-10-2005 05:36

By the way, Arsenal FC
I'm also an Arsenal fan
Do you have any good tactics for Arsenal in the FM?

glenbo 25-10-2005 05:55

yeh i second that lol,im a gooner also..and i cant get a consistent run of results no matter what i do. i was 4-0 against sunderland, and they did a 5 goal comeback after the 70th minute! i lost 5-4 lol

ArsenalFc 25-10-2005 06:37

Erm if you can find the powerslave tactic from FM2005 that seems to work ok for me. 4-1 in the charity shield, 3-2 at Sunderland after being 2-0 down, 2-0 at Newcastle and 3-1 home to Bolton.

And sign Esposito. Costs around 3m from Cagliari, excellent right winger, and Mohammoud Diarra at £4m is a good replacement for Vieira.

henkjen 25-10-2005 07:42

why is there just nocd patch for this game on gamecopyword ..............thats whats the site are for

ArsenalFc 25-10-2005 07:56

If you READ this thred it is explained over and over again why there isn't. SecuROM have changed their security methods and as yet (i.e in the 4 days since the games been out) nobody has yet broken it open and written one. As soon as they do I'm sure it'll be distributed like wildfire.

antonk 25-10-2005 08:26

Man, I've followed ArsenalFc's little strategy to get it working, but for some reason I get an error that says fm.exe has to close, sorry for the inconveinence. Anybody know what could be wrong? I've had this game since Friday and I got it working once, and then never again, all I get now is either please enter the right cd or an error.

volley03 25-10-2005 09:52

ArsenalFC you rock! The antiblaxx f*cked my d-tools but with this new app you uploaded now my image works perfect, thanks man! i added to your reputation

to everyone: do not use antiblaxx with daemon tools!! or everything will be f*cked up after your first reboot, instead use Arsenalfc's little app

Goesting 25-10-2005 12:27

Yes!!

Thanx a bunch ArsenalFC! After searching the web for over 4 days I finally got it working after I tried your method.

Do not use the mini-image from the first post of this topic (seems to be Fifa Manager). Use the ind-fm2006.mds.

cheers! :)

WD13th_Rattler 25-10-2005 14:45

Tried all that and i am still getting the "insert correct cd"....

Done everything....from Daemon, to Sd4h, to that Anti-Blaxx thing....all turn the same result; insert the freakin' cd...
