No. My conversion is 2xDVD9 to 1xDVD9. There are various other DVD5 conversions around here, though.

I know the thread is rather old, but I'm trying to convert DS2 on 1xDVD9.
Everything is alright, it installs fine from the HDD Directory where the files are temporarily stored, (with placeholders for the fr movies and removed ds2dat files) but as soon as I burn to ISO and install from there the installer asks for the second DVD during installation...

Could you perhaps share your autorun.dat for your 2xDVD9 to 1xDVD9 Conversion?

(Ive tried to edit the autorun.dat myself using ORCA but that just corrupts the file and then I can't even install from HDD anymore. :-( )

first off look in the autorun.inf file for label=bla bla bla.... does it evven have one? AND did you use same label for ISO as temp HDD storage ?
secondly off what languages does your DS2 include?

NEVER burn to disk, before testing install/uninstall that way if errors come up you havent wasted a dvd. Mount the ISO & test it from there to install / uninstall & oncehat works THEN burn the dvds.

I've followed all instructions, my autorun.inf looks as follows:

The Folder has the same name (Dead Space 2) so there is no difference.
And the Version of DS2 is exactly as the topic says. Multi2 Eng & French but I don't need French so I wanted to get rid of these files to fit it all on 1DVD9.

My Problem is that I do not know how to edit the autorun.dat properly to circumvent the need for a 2nd DVD...
For that I would like to get my hands on smurf stompers autorun.dat as he seemed to have created a single DVD9 for the game.

And I didn't waste any DVDs ;-)

try the attached autorun.dat I've removed everything thats NOT english from it. test & reply back if it works, I've also removed the french.mst file as well.

oh, dont forget to rename it like original, i renamed it as I had others in the same folder, to compare. You can use any volume label you want, as in the media table - volume label is blank.

EDIT: oops, after re-checking the autorun.dat I missed some entries, try again with V2

yrdetraxe 07-12-2011 03:57

Unfortunatly it doesn't work.
I get the same Error Message with your autorun.dat that I get when I try to edit my own autorun.dat. :(

It say's
"Error applying transforms. Verify that the specified transform paths are valid."

I got sick of the constant errors from tampering w/ autorun.dat. So I scripted up a nice little installer w/ inno setup, added fullscreen background pix (widescreen only). Using lzma compression it all barely fits on one dvd9. If you like I can share it w/ you. You'll need to have inno setup & logan's ISSI installed for it to work and have basic knowledge in using them, though.

SmurfStomper post away, always nice to have another version..

yrdetraxe please try V2 of the file, I missed a few entries, after re-checking it.

yrdetraxe 08-12-2011 02:42

@pakrat:
Sry, still the same error :(

EDIT: It's always good to never give up. :D
I've tried a bit more myself and now it seems I've got it. It installs from ISO, and the ISO is DVD9 Size.
Instead of removing all entries in the Media table I just removed the VolumeLabel from all entries and that seemed to fix (one of) the problems.
Now I just need to tinker some more to get rid of the french movies and language files. ^^

@Smurf Stomper:
Bring it on. ^^

Dead Space 2 Inno Script & Conduit Door Unlocker

2 Attachment(s)
Attached is the script, refer to the comments to help you get everything in order before compiling. I made a few revisions to the script & didn't have a chance to test it, just so you're warned. You can use the original game's launcher with this conversion as well.

Also attached is the Conduit Rooms DLC Unlocker, for those who have the game already installed and want to access them. This feature is included as an option in the above script, but I made it separately available for those using alternate conversions or with the original game.

yrdetraxe 09-12-2011 04:29

@Smurf Stomper:
The script works fine. Thx.
Now I got a perfect 1xDVD9 Version of DS2.

pakrat2k2 03-12-2013 15:48

whats listed is the game already installed. you can see by the DLL's that you have DE-EN-RU version of the game.

look for the post above by Smurf Stomper for the files you need, as well as reading thru entire post for info.

thanks for response but
I hate home made installers and i want to keep original setup.
and i dont want to delete anything in process

how can i just split it to 3 normal DVD?

i am not sure if this is important but in "movies" folder is only 2 folder with name of "en" and "de"
there is no "ru" folder in "movies" folder
