Read the BOARD RULES before you create a new account.
FILE FORUMS don't support WAREZ.
Buy the game and we will help you to create a backup.

Anybody gotten a way of making a backup of the US/Australian version which has Tages?

1. I made an exact copy with Alcohol 120 (see my original post).
2. Then I've downloaded ISODir
3. I opened my mdf-file with the ISOdir and made "Trim File".
4. I wasn't sure if my mds-file is good enough. So I've downloaded this.
5. And now I've mounted my mini-image with Daemon Tools 4.03 (emulation all off or on isn't important).
(Of course the mds and mdf-file must have the same name, so rename it! ;)

i followed your steps but i am not shure what to do with the mds file! is it ok when both the mds and mdf file are on the desktop and i mount the mdf file with daemontool or do they have to be in the spellforce folder?

The location of the mini image doesn't matter.

Okay, now i have found a simple way to use the patch and finish the game with the mounted Image in Daemon Tools and also the Updates of the Patch works fine.
First make a backup of the StarforceProtect Application, StarforceProtect.dll 3.7.13.0 and the original Spellforce2.exe you will find in your Gamedir.
Install the Patch and overwrite the three Files with your Backupfiles, that`s it.
It works fine by me and i could finish the game by using the Patch.
Have Fun, hope i could help you.

Hello, the only thing you have to do is to deinstall the Patch, then you have the old files in your Gamedir, make a backup and reinstall the Patch, overwrite the files and have fun, when it doesn`t work you must reinstall the Game.

Ok i will try it ;) thx

Just a reminder that we don't allow asking for files that you can get off the original cd. So if what Starraider suggested doesn't work, you'll have to reinstall..

Sorry, but it works, first, when you have installed the Patch, you will find two files of Spellforce2 - Shadow Wars in your SystemControl, one file has the Date of Installing your game and one file shows unknown Date, both Files show you that you have installed 3.365 MB of the Game, the File with the unknown Date is the Patchfile, when you deinstall the File with the unknown Date, Spellforce2 in Version 1.0 is still in your Game Dir with your original installed Files and you can Start the Game as well, that works for me, try it and you will see, sorry for my english, i will hope you can understand it.

Hi,

I've tried to do exactly as you described, but it's not working... :(
I made an exact copy with Alcohol 120 (latest version), and downloaded the .mds from copybase. I have them on the same directory with the exact same name.
Then I trimmed my image file with ISOdir, but I'm not sure if any specific configurations are needed (I used the default options for ISOdir). But which extension should the mini-image file have? .iso or .mdf? If it's .mdf, I can't save it to the same directory as the other .mdf and .mds files, or it will overwrite my exact image...
Anyway, I tried with the same name and placed the mini image on the desktop. Then I tried mounting either the exact image, the mini-image or even both at the same time, but it still doesn't work, I still get the "please insert original disk" message... What am I doing wrong?

My game was already installed from the dvd before I made the .mdf file, do I need to uninstall and install it again from the image?

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,

Lelila

P.S. I think we're talking about the same version of the game, mine is the unpatched english version, bought in the UK.

If you have problems with your mini image, download a mini image from gamecopyworld.com
http://m0003.gamecopyworld.com/games.../Fixed%20Image

After you have installed the game from your dvd, place the mini image-files anywhere. Mount them with DT4.03 and it should work.

I think your steps were more complicated than it is necessary :)

Thanks for the help, indeed it was a lot simpler... :)
Problem is, I still have to disable my dvd-rom drive in the control panel, I thought you said it wouldn't be necessary. Anyway, it's working, so thanks. :)

Lelila

EDIT:
Problem solved. :)
I found another mini-image online that doesn't require disabling optical drives.

A new error

Hi everybody! I'm here again with a new problem! I solved my problem installing the game on a ntfs hard disk; now the game runs, and I can play it; but when it's loading the "Settetorrioni" (it's in italian, I think in English is something like seventower) world appear an error and then the fatal access violation! What's this?

P.S. I've installed the patch.

RincewindTheWiz 03-06-2006 15:12

Kardio, try to determine if this happens when the original cd/dvd is used. It may be a generic program error and you'll have to consult the developers forums about that.
