I have tried all the methods listed here, but my game still crashes to the desktop after ~5 minutes. Will someone PLEASE come up with a No-CD crack?!?!? ;)

thorisback 30-07-2006 05:31

no need to wait

why do you have to wait for starting the game?
the only thing you have to do is left clicking repeteadly for skipping the intro.

intellix 30-07-2006 10:53

yay :D i got it working, did all the stuff you said, i forgot to move it from the titan quest folder... not sure if that helped but i had to use prot stop to hide the drive and then it worked :)

These guyz never heard of Esc button or something?;) Anyway..Got tired from all the sh*t..Bringing the original from the desk...Hell,maybe i'll trash it but at least i'll play a little before without getting annoyed from this crap to much!!:(

Machina 30-07-2006 21:13

Where is da kruk?

shi3ld 31-07-2006 01:50

On my pc titan quest crashed everytime i talked to an npc or closed a merchant window. In the end after reading different forums i did this:
asr was renamed to explorer.exe and was ran in 98 compatability
i ran Pr0t.St0p v1.0 and hidden all
Titan quest ran from asr but titan quest was in 98 compatability
game didnt crash.

before it used to last 5 mins if the game even loaded as it sometimes crashed while loading up but last night i played for 2 hours and it didnt crash once.
Hope this helps, it might have been posted but it worked for me

snagglypuss 31-07-2006 13:30

I must've done something wrong. :|
I keep getting the "error 7000", which says that SecuRom detected some kind of hiding in my registry.
What do I do from here?
Pr0t.st0p tells me it finds nothing to hide. :-o

TippeX 31-07-2006 15:32

hmm, 7000 i think is antiblaxx / registry screwed up, think theres a fix for that on the curerom site, or on the securom site itself....

coxxer 31-07-2006 15:53

best game i ever played ;)

sunwind 31-07-2006 16:36

theres no way to get the game running without using mini image / securom loader with latest version 1.11. but using that method causes the game to crash all the time... so we need someone to come out with an exe crack for v1.11

Borsook 01-08-2006 01:48

1.11 runs fine with mini image, before you say the crashes are because of that try disabling sound in the game all together. The game is still bugged and it crashes with some sound drivers...

TippeX 01-08-2006 03:51

gawd, play the game with no sound... how desperate are you....
why not poke your eyes out with a stick too, blindness might make the game run too :P

German Gamer 01-08-2006 04:11

Hello Guys,

I've a little problem.... all the cracks works perfectly, but when I wanna start a game in the Main Menü, i get the message:

Invalid Cd-Key

I have the Cd-Key for this game, but not the DVD to reinstall it -.-

So I wanna in which file of the game I can change or put in a Cd-Key.

Please excuse my bad English, I'm German;)

Joe Forster/STA 01-08-2006 04:14

@German Gamer: Read forum rules #1 and #2!

snagglypuss 01-08-2006 06:39

I used the AntiBlaxx/SecurROM registry fixer and that fixed that problem, thanks :)
but now i'm getting a different error after the little securerom icon spins - number 5000 "conflict with emulation software detected".

I'm using the latest Alcohol 120 and the mini-image. using asr renamed to explorer.exe to open TQ in "win98 compatability mode".

any ideas what to do now to fix this new problem?
thanks again for your help :)

edit: i turned on all the emulations in alcohol and DT, fyi

Optimummind 01-08-2006 08:35

This is what I did to start the game but the game crashed in 5 minutes:

(1) Downloaded and patched TQ to v1.11 using the v1.08 to v1.11 patch.

(2) Loaded the mini-image #3 from GCW to Daemon Tools virtual drive.

(3) Turned DT off saying "no" when it asked me if I wanted to leave the emulation on.

(4) Copied asr v1.2 to the Desktop, renamed the file to "explorer.exe," and ran the game.

(5) The game ran, my saves and character were there, and I started the game.

(6) At first, everything ran well--no problems with graphics, sounds, whatever.

Then, in about 5 minutes when I'm in the middle of a fight, the game crashes to the Desktop. When I tried to restart the game again using the same method, my saves were corrupted.

Anticipating this kind of outcome, I had a backup of my save games, thank goodness.

Guess I'll have to either play off the original disc or wait for a v1.11 crack.

i just finished one and a half hour of playing without crashing, so i guess "my" solution should do the trick...
here it comes:
- deinstall all that stuff! deinstall titan quest, deinstall cure rom, deinstall win-xp! (just kidding, keep xp!) don´t worry about your saves, i deinstalled a couple of times but my chars are still there!
- get yourself the latest daemontools and mount your tq-file
- install tq
- go into your games/titanquest (or whatever dir!) and rename the "videos" folder into whatever you like (skips the fu---ing non-skippable intro!)
- get yourself this "securom-loader 1.2" and put it anywhere you like EXEPT into the titan folder!
- rename this "asr.exe" into "explorer.exe"
start asr, choose "titan quest.exe" from your game dir and have fun!
easy, eh?

oh... i see...... forgot the cruicial part! the patch! do not, i repeat: DO NOT use the ingame updater! get yourself this 1.01-1.11 patch and patch manually!!!
- patch it!
start asr, choose "titan quest.exe" from your game dir and have fun!
easy, eh?

this works just fine for me, i played all my former chars and got this nifty little "ver. 1.11" in my lower right corner of the startup-screen!

i hope i did a fair job explaining this in a foreign language and also hope all of you can enjoy this game...

tried it -.-!
getting error 1000 (insert original tq disk)

tried. it wants to start, getting a black screen. but whole pc crashed before i see anything (intro or any screen)

snagglypuss 01-08-2006 13:51

here is more info for my problem (error 5000: conflict emulation software)

I am using Pr0t.st0p and newest asr.exe. asr.exe is renamed explorer and is outside of game directory. compatibility mode is win98. tried mounting mini image through alcohol 120 and also through DT 4.03. i have uninstalled antiblaxx and used the registry fix to get rid of its problem. i have no other anti security things installed except for dvddecrypter. emulation settings in DT and alcohol are all turned off.

i hope for a fixed exe someday soon . :)

Mount Mini-image in Daemon (I used Mini-Image #2),

and either use CureRom Loader (Get it HERE)

For more information on how to used CureROM Loader Go HERE

Or

AlkiSecuROM (Get it HERE), it works just like ASR (I think it's a modified version of ASR), But It works.

Both Worked Fine With Me. No Crashes.

:)

Cheers.

P.S.: I Didn't use any Compatability Mode.

snagglypuss 03-08-2006 10:58

I get further than I've gotten before I think, but now it detects DT and tells me I can't start the game using DT. :(
I made sure to turn all of its emulation settings off, exit DT, and use Pr0t.St0p, but it still detects DT 4.03HE...

I followed the link above to download AlkiSecurom and ran it with Bender's mini-image mounted through DT v4.03. After mounting Bender's mini-image, I disabled all emulations and closed DT.

I then ran Alkisecurom and started TQ v1.11. Unlike with the CureROM method (which would start the game but crash within 5-10 minutes), TQ ran and it ran well. I played for about 30 minutes until I exited the game, not the other way around. =)

Thx for the tip, WebSurfer.

Your Welcome.

CureROM Loader works just as well.

snagglypuss 04-08-2006 08:03

I tried your method again today, WebSurfer80, but still I get error 6000. :(
It tells me to unmount, close DT, and try again with original.
I have all emulations turned off, have closed DT, and tried it with and without Pr0t.St0p hiding.

do you have programs like antiblaxx installed (anti-blacklisting programs), if so there are regisrty fixing tools on CureROMs site.

Here is what i do:

1- mount mini-Image #2 in DT (You might want to Close DT after mounting and Keeping emulation options ON).
2- Start AlkiSecuROM.
3- Select TitanQuest.exe.
4- Play the Game.

No Proto.Stop no SD4Hide, nothing else. if your version of windows have been installed a long time ago, then it might have a missed-up regisrty. i suggest installing a fresh copy of windows, and trying again.

i hope that works.

Good Luck.:)

For me, I had success when I kept the emulation options OFF.

As for other virtual programs, the ones that had been installed on my computer when TQ v1.11 worked for me are CureROM v2.0.3.1, Daemon Tools v4.03, and A120% v1.9.5.3523.

sunwind 04-08-2006 09:48

where do i get AlkiSecuROM?

TippeX 04-08-2006 10:27

yup, even stated on daemon tools forum emulation on is totally pointless using this method... im surprised it even works

So...is it possible to run the game with latest 1.11 patch and an image?

Yes. Read the previous posts.

Kakarott 05-08-2006 08:33

With AlkiSecuRom it works fine with Benders Mini Image and at least with Update 1.11.

No Problems still .... great work GCW Forum dudes :)

Machina 05-08-2006 08:46

I launched the game ONCE with that combination, but now when it loads I get wierd squres and rectangles...I played the game through with same video drivers and 1.08 patch and that never happened before...

Kairu 05-08-2006 12:09

Helps!

I used Websurfer's method
(1- mount mini-Image #2 in DT (You might want to Close DT after mounting and Keeping emulation options ON).
2- Start AlkiSecuROM.
3- Select TitanQuest.exe.
4- Play the Game.)

And it worked fine, but I changed my settings so that the game would fit my screen resolution, and now it loads up fine, but everything is weird, blocky, and pixelated. Image here
.

Any known fix for this? My resolution is 1280x1024.

EDIT: I managed to revert it to the regular graphic settings (Menu, 3rd box, then farthest tab to the right is Video options), but for some reason if I make it my resolution size the graphics get all messed up. Weird.

snagglypuss 05-08-2006 19:10

i used to have anti-blaxx, but i uninstalled it and used the registry fix. :( so i still have no way to proceed...

zwiebl 06-08-2006 03:27

works fine...
but crashes if i wanna use a teleport^.

Yup, works fine until I use teleport or enter a portal.

EDIT: If you use CureROM loader instead of CureROM or Alkirom, then the game will run stably for hours whether you use/go through portals or not. I've finished the game a few days ago using the Bender Mini-image + CureROM loader + DT v4.03 method.

kokonut 09-08-2006 09:08

Just email reloaded he might be able to make a new no cd patch.

[email protected]

looks like his email..wish new no cd was out too looks like a pain to make 1.11 work....
