I hope that will be the free version and not the gold verson of DT 4. that will dismantle starforce.

MasterYoda34 29-06-2005 18:58

I hope so too.

Personally I do not think a crack will ever be released. Obviously, cracking StarForce is quite difficult. Why would crackers make a crack that requires a lot of hard work if it just becomes outdated with the next version of StarForce. And the main reason they won't make a crack is because they probably all know that the next version of Daemon Tools (v4) will be able to emulate StarForce. Why would they make a crack if they know a program that is almost finished will be able to emulate it?
Well you're partially right. Starforce cracks are generally hard, as parts of the protected executable are encrypted and each part has to be decrypted separately - this takes a lot of time, and crackers can't be bothered to do all this work (with a couple of exceptions). Cracks are not (that) generic. The approach to crack a protected executable is similar for each protection, but some parts differ for each version of the protection (addresses, added anti-dumping and anti-debug code etc). Hopefully, Daemon Tools v4 will support StarForce as you say...

strange protection system....

So far, i've been able to install the game off an image, but when it runs to DVD check, it no longer sez to insert the correct disc, but instead sez that my key doesn't correspond with my disc....(this is with both a virtual and USB2.0 DVD rom drive)
Is is another feature of StarForce or is it simply that i'm using the wrong key?

btw, when it sez "retry" after it sez the wrong key, a button with "information" appears, which generates a code based on ur hardware.
Is there a way someone can produce a keygen that exploits that code to generate a working serial key?

Thanks

No, that doesn't work!!

Hello, All...

I tried the German German of Star*** and I did exactly what is required, but it did NOT work!

Is there a fix for Splinter Cell 3???? No likely! The game has been out for the last five months or so, but no fix, no crack has been released!!!!!

I think it is about time to buy the game!

Pretty much a "nice" feature of SF ;)

Then with DT running I right click the icon on the taskbar and goto the first drive then drive properties, at the top is 3 headings which I change to other entries. Enable all emulation (Including RPMS).

Then I mount the image, close daemon tools (keeping emulation running), Run Starforcenightmare disabling channel 2 and node (Since I have sata I disabled ATA also - not wise if you have IDE HD's), install the game (works best with SATA drives).

It then works with any SF games, also any other protected game.

OK, this is really starting to piss me off. Folks, if you're going to write a detailed explanation, DON'T DON'T USE ABREVIATIONS.... How the hell do we know what DPM means???

The very first rule of writing anything (espacially a step by step manual) is to assume that the reader (no matter who he or she is) knows NOTHING. And I mean NOTHING AT ALL.
If I am talking about missiles and I throw the abbreviation SARH you guys have no clue what this is unless you know something about missiles. but if I place the abbreviation and then add (Semi active Radar Homing) you instantly can identify with it. Not everyone here knows what the hell your abbreviations are so PLEASE PLEASE explain in detail. Never assume we're smart enough to decipher it. After all, this is what we're trying to avoid.

Excuse me but you're always expected to know, at least, something about the backgrounds of the topic being talked about. If you don't, you're on the wrong forum! How would you expect someone to explain how Starforce works, even at a very high level, if you know absolutely nothing about PC hardware?

By the way, to overcome the copy protection, you don't need to understand how the copy protection - or, for that matter, the software that defeats it - works. Run it and it will work. Oh, it doesn't? So what, you haven't paid for it so don't expect anyone to explain it in every detail for you free of charge. Instead, perhaps, you might wanna buy some books and learn yourself; or pay someone to explain it to you. Whining around because of the lack of "proper" help on a free forum won't get you anywhere (other than the "ban bin")...

@akula203: You found this Forum, but you have never heard about Google, Altavista, MSN Search ???

First of all... Wether I've paid for it or not is not in question. It may be to you but not to me and it has nothing to do with what I posted. Secondly, it SEEMS that have never written a College or University paper or essay. Had you done this you would know that any prof would reject that set of step by step instructions based on the mere fact that it doesen't explain everything fully. it's a basic rule of writing and it's not my fault you don't have the brain power to fathom this concept, nor is it my problem.
Oh and by the way, this forum IS WHERE PEOPLE LEARN FOR THEMSELVES. you didn't learn what the hell DPM was until someone told you right??? Oh wait, let me guess, you PAID someone to tell you what it is. That's right I forgot, you pay for everything. You're the saint here who does everything legit. That's why you're The LONGEST POSTING MEMBER. I'm sorry, I forgot to bow.

Grumpy 10-08-2005 08:18

@akula
Man you really do have an attitude problem!! And you expect people here to help you!

Just like it is not our fault you dont have the brain power to search the net to find out what the ABREVIATIONS mean! Nor is it our problem you have a problem!!
If you are indeed a uni (UNIVERSITY) student you would have learnt to research research research!!!

Joe Forster/STA 10-08-2005 08:34

akula203, as I wrote, buy some books and learn yourself. This forum is NOT a university. By the way, even at a university, you're not explained everything in every detail all the time... You're not a baby to be spoon-fed, are you? If so, again, you're on the wrong forum. (Ohhh, as for my education, you're thoroughly wrong. You shouldn't have come up with that and especially not basing it on assumptions...)
