One explanation: To avoid a "SCSHD2.EXE can't be found error" during installation, copy the SCSHD2.EXE file to the WINDOWS/TEMP directory before installing the IS Pack!

at start when i entered the CD he showed like its already installed so i did uninastall (i dunno for what) and then install it doesnt work i followed blooseyes instructions and it doesnt work!
after installing the IS pack its say "cant open Scshd2.exe"
and ohter wierd thing
i have orignal MW4 and when im trying to install it to a difrent dir he can he just wont do anything after alot trying i notice it is a problem with this area
orignal : c:\program files\micro$oft games\mechwarior vengens
i wanted to change it to c:\games\mechwarior vengens
but i didnt worked but for some reson he could install it to c:\program files\micro$oft games\mechwariorvengens

Mechwarrior 4 and Mech Paks
Just want to clear up a few things:

The Filenexus release of Mechwarrior 4 (2 CDs) works just fine with Th3_Lorax Mech Paks.

Even when it appears that the Mech Paks fail the safecast check during installation (DOS box, schd.exe, insert CD message,...) it still works! This is because you will run the game with the cracked .exe!

There's a post on Filenexus Forum about updating (patching) Mechwarrior 4 to version 2. Just copy this link to your browser:

*Note: You don't need to create a .bat file like the guy did. You can manually copy the file (Follow the steps). You also don't need to download the Patch 2 or the crack since these are included in the Black Knight Expansion release.

Here's how to get the mech paks to work with Mechwarrior 4 and Black Knight Expansion:

(You basically have to copy everything from the 2 CDs to the corresponding directories on your hard drive)

3. Install Black Knight Expansion. This will automatically run patch 2. DON'T COPY THE CRACKS OVER YET!

4. Install Inner Sphere Mech Pak and/or Clan Mech Pak. It will also automatically run patch 3. Now extract those cracked .exe (the ones included in Th3_Lorax releases)

5. Run "MW4_v30_nocd.exe" to play Mechwarrior 4, "MW4x_pr1_nocd.exe" to play Black Knight Expansion.

The best part is that both "mw4.exe" and "mw4x.exe" are intact (not cracked) so you won't have to reinstall everything when a new patch comes out. You also don't need the CDs to play.

A few months ago, there was a post on this forum about how to disable C_DILLA. Just use the search to find it.

There are 2 protections. MW4 and Black Knight have Safedisk protection and the Mech Packs have Safecast protection.

You don't have to disable C_DILLA. Using bOOls eYe instructions and patch you actually install the Safecast protection that is required for the Mech Packs!!! The original Mech Pack CD is checked during installation only so once it is installed you don't need the original CD...

So then you can use the fixed MW4 .exe files with Safedisk removed.
