its a cls that allows you to multi thread things such as lzma64 or zstd bcm etc..
some it won't work with

the more cores and ram you have the faster you can pack and unpack
with my settings i used 6 threads to compress and decompress

Are you using SREP inside (CLS-SREP.DLL) or [CLS-SREP.DLL + CLS-SREP_X64.EXE, CLS-SREP_X86.EXE] method? Both were uploaded by Profrager on Krinkels.

I use the DLL + EXE method.

I tagged below a copy of srep + srep64 for packing and the cls plugin + 2 exes for unpacking. CLS.ini is also included. Add that into your decompressor and it works just fine.

Edit: I've never used Razor's CLS-SREP. I didn't know that one existed up until about 5 mins ago.

Edit: For some reason I wrote xZLib (I think by habit :D). I used no xtool so I removed it. Sorry :D

oo2recm + srep + lolz for b2containers

hwang4 05-05-2020 03:05

Which version of Oodle should i use?

Oodle4, Oodle5, Oodle6 or Oodle7?

KaktoR 05-05-2020 03:06

The version the game use.

Somewhere inside game folder should be an oodle dll file (it contains a number in file name). Use this file to precompress the game with oo2recm.

i didn't find oodle dll in game files but you can use this one, gives good ratio.

Euro Truck Simulator 2

This game has lots of zlib streams, so I'm using XTool Zlib however it completely crashes my PC.

Please note I have XTool limited to 80% of my CPU threads (using the t80p switch). My CPU is 8 core, 16 thread Ryzen 7 2700.

Here't the versions I've tested:
Code:

XTool V12 x64 = Crashes my PC (only way to recover is press physical reset button)

XTool V12 x86 = ERROR: write error (disk full?) in compression algorithm xzlib

I also tried pZlib:

Code:

pZlib V3 x86 = ERROR: write error (disk full?) in compression algorithm pZlib

pZlib V3 x64 = ERROR: write error (disk full?) in compression algorithm pZlib64

Please note that I haven't overclocked my CPU or modified anything in a way that could have an adverse effect on CPU heavy tasks, as I had XTool and pZLib working in previous recent conversions.

I am going to try other versions of XTool.

Updated Edit: it appears XTool 2019 x64 is working for me without issues. 1,113,038,020 bytes of game data precompressed into 16,176,946,862 bytes - that's looking good!!

XTool v 0.12 (x64) with с64mb - decompress without errors and stucks.
8 gb *.scs files > 43 gb > 12 gb after srep (a2 m5f) > 3.47 after lolz

Should I always use XTool with a high chunk size (e.g. 128)?

KaktoR 06-05-2020 04:00

t75p,c128m (xtool v0.12) works fine here too.

You need xtool v0.12 + lz4 codec

Quote:

Compressed 1 file, 505,427,610 => 698,847,635 bytes. Ratio 138.27%
Compression time: cpu 0.53 sec/real 15.58 sec = 3%. Speed 32.43 mB/s
All OK

i think it's not. there is almost no lz4 stream.

and final size still high.

upd.

maybe something wrong with my arc.ini, i left packcmd as xtool.exe e : precomp : t4 : zlib, now changed it to e : precomp : t4 : {option} and trying with this method again.

Hello everyone,
What compression method do you recommend for the Railway Empire game?
The movie directory (2.58Gb) *.bk2 files
Language files (8,48Gb) *.fuk files
Thanks in advance,
cdt

Bioshock Collection

These games already have conversions posted however I'd just like to add my attempt (strongly based on the existing conversions) but with complete info (original / final sizes etc..)

All based on latest versions.

Bioshock Remastered:

Total Unpacked Size: 21GB

Compression as follows:
  • *.bik
    Code:

    bpk
  • Everything Else:
    Code:

    srep:m3f:l512+lolz:dt:dtb1:dtw1:dtm1:dto1:dtd1:mtt1:mt4:d64m:fba4096

Total packed size using above method: 9.45GB

Bioshock 2 Remastered:

Total Unpacked Size: 19.8GB

Compression as follows:
  • *.bik
    Code:

    bpk
  • Everything Else:
    Code:

    srep:m3f:l512+lolz:dt:dtb1:dtw1:dtm1:dto1:dtd1:mtt1:mt4:d64m:fba4096

Total packed size using above method: 9.48GB

Bioshock Infinite (All Languages) + Wallpapers

Total Unpacked Size: 43.2GB

Compression as follows:
  • *.bik - Important Note, read below!
    Code:

    bpk
  • *.xxx
    Code:

    uelr+xtool:e:precomp:t100p,c128m:zlib+srep:m3f:l512+lolz:dt:dtb1:dtw1:dtm1:dto1:dtd1:mtt1:mt4:d64m:fba4096
  • *.tfc
    Code:

    uelr+srep:m3f:l512+lolz:dt:dtb1:dtw1:dtm1:dto1:dtd1:mtt1:mt4:d64m:fba4096
  • *.jpg (Wallpapers)
    Code:

    packjpg
  • Everything Else:
    Code:

    srep:m3f:l512+lolz:dt:dtb1:dtw1:dtm1:dto1:dtd1:mtt1:mt4:d64m:fba4096
Important Note:: MesmerizeMaster_NoAudio.bik will throw errors when being compressed with bpk, so just put this file in with srep+lolz. I use the cls plugin for compression, so it's possible you can get past this if you have a different method.

Total packed size using above method: 21.9GB

Thanks to dixen and Webster17 for the original conversions!
