OK, please forgive me in advance if I am being particularly dense and not understanding what I have read in this thread.

I purchased AitD a while ago (boxed retail DVD), installed it, activated it, and ran it. I played it briefly several times with no problems. I have been trying ever since to set things so that I could put away the DVD and continue to play the game. Here is what I have done so far...

1) Downloaded the No-DVD/Fixed Image File Archive from GCW and extracted the 2 files to a folder

2) Upgraded my DT to the latest version

3) Downloaded and installed Nero DriveSpeed 3.0

4) Downloaded and installed Y.A.S.U. v1.4.7080

5) Re-booted the computer

6) Ran DT and mounted the image file from GCW for AitD

7) Ran Nero DS and set the read speed of the drive the image was mounted in to 1x

8) Ran Y.A.S.U. and clicked on "Cloak" (got the response "SecuROM 7.x: 1 device(s) successfully cloaked")

9) Clicked on the desktop icon to start the game.

10) Was greeted after a few seconds with the message "Conflict with Emulation Software detected."

After this, I put the DVD in the drive and created a new image, which I saved to a different folder. I again rebooted the computer and tried running the game using the steps outlined above with the new image.

Is this a problem that I can resolve, or is this just not going to work for me??? I am at the point now where getting this game to run without the disk is more of a challenge than the game itself!

the only way at the moment that we can play the game without our original DVD in the drive is to purchase Daemon Tools Pro cause it has a way of making the proper image then mounting it under a certain securom profile that only exists in the pro version . im in the same boat is you so im just going to have to make do with my original disk in the drive all the time till another solution presents itself which im sure at somepoint it will .

What can i do to make AITD5 start?

Blazkowicz 15-07-2008 14:19

Insert your original dvd or use self created DT Pro image.

Blazkowicz 15-07-2008 22:54

Well, with latest version do you mean which version exactly? Also which drive you exactly use. You could also try to open a thread in DT forum.

Blazkowicz 17-07-2008 07:49

Well, i asked for DT version cause there are many users out who say they are using the latest one, but in reality they are using an outdated version.

Also create a thread in DT forum regarding drive support with more detailed information.

Enough offtopic - let's get back to topic - Alone In The Dark

and get error about DPM.... because DTP cant reduce speed of u Drive...

And FAQ is a 2006? or 2005? its OLD and nobody wont renew this... because its no helping....

I think better try Alcohol 120.

Or buy new DVD drive which can read DPM correctly.

With new DTP i cant copy Bioshok disk... its old game now so... its sux

SORRI FOR OFFTOP but i need 2 say this because its a cheating.

Blazkowicz 19-07-2008 08:38

Well, the help site is from 2008 and the renew process to latest version is in progress.

It's no cheating, your drive is just not correctly supported yet and Bioshock can be copied perfectly.

What about creating a thread in DT forum and describe your problem instead of complaining here.

qant 19-07-2008 12:00

here is any one who buy the game online?

TippeX 19-07-2008 13:09

sure, whats the question?

Joe Forster/STA 19-07-2008 17:24

The thread has been cleaned of non-English and/or off-topic junk. I suggest that it stays that way...

omni555 11-08-2008 00:20

...OK, an observation and related question:

Bioshock requires online activation just like AitD, yet it (Bioshock) can be started and played without the disk in the drive.

Why the difference???
