Gawd, I hope the American version IS Securom....I won't be afraid of buying and installing it then. I've gotten burned too many times by SF games already to purposely buy another one. How sure are you of this info? Just because the American publisher generally uses Securom doesn't mean that this game will automatically use it. Are you just guessing based on the publisher's track record or do you KNOW? Meh...either way, I guess we'll all find out when it releases here.....I'll either be deleriously happy to play the game or severely disappointed that I don't dare to install it on my PC. I need confirmation on the protection to be used in the American version. My potential purchase of this game depends on it. I'll be sure to keep a lookout here at GCW fileforums for the final determination on which protection is used on the American version. Now I'm all excited for the game again...because of this rumor. |
I don't know if i may post this one. I found a way to play Flatout 2 just without having to use an external DVD drive. At Gamecopyworld there stands a game called X3 Reunion. When u download the fixed image u get allot of files and also a readme where stands what u have to do to make that game work. Well also that works with Flatout 2. Before u are gonna try this directly then u should first uninstall Flatout 2 if u have it installed. Also remove everything in your register of Flatout 2. When u then follow each step then u can make it to work.
The most usefull is to burn the blindwrite 6 image to a dvd and make an .mdf file of that dvd with Alcohol 120% so u can mount it in Daemon Tools. If it isn't working contact me at speeder.daowner********com For all who make it working, yeah i know im good to share that information with others. |

Flatout 2 WORKS on vista beta 2 +spd 1.25 driver and an mds mdf file...
Instrucions: Get the daemon plugin to mount bw6 images...(go to daemon forum and search) you install this by overwritting the dll file in C:\Program Files\DAEMON Tools\Plugins\Images\bw5mount.dll...(hxxp://www.csclub.uwaterloo.ca/~dtbartle/bw5mount.zip) [daemon must be off in order to properly overwrite the new dll file ;-) ] Then mount the bw6 flatout 2 image in daemon. Now go to alchool 120 run the image creation wizard don´t change any setting, and create an image of flatout in mdf format.... Now go to hxxp://www.copybase.ch/PHPV2/Database/Dpm.Download/1514 and download this mini image made from an original flatout 2 disk... Rename this mini image to match the name of your mdf image. I have my optical drives unplugged from power supply so i don´t know if it works with drives plugged in... Now mount this renamed image in daemon with all emulation options off and PLAY. This works on vista beta 2 build 5384 ( the public beta from microsoft site ) I hope i helped you guys :) |
I don't understand why the game manufacturers don't just put a blank DVD in the case with a copy of the game on it! Thus having two DVD and no need for a backup. Simple really!

TONNI_PT - sorry, but not worked! I have 2 images: .iso and .mdf, i create bw6 iimage from iso and from mdf, anyone not worked

Topic really should be closed... enough info so far to this nice SF4 Version. .. and, greetings to germany ;) |
@TONNI_PT
Why the heck would someone owning the original first create a BW6 image and mount this in DT to create a Alcohol image :eek: BTW a mds file is not a mini image |
Possibly boredom or fun, most likely ... you know illegal activities
|
Did anyone try THIS ?
Works at least for SF3 maybe for v4 too;) |
