It's all about money nowadays kosmiq, screw the punters out of as much of it as possible, and setting compatability mode for the earlier games and calling it 'recoded for XP' is an example of the contempt they must hold for their fans. Probably only took them a day to throw this compilation together too!

I just loaded RA1 and the first mission plays the correct movie for Soviets! After the first mission it shows an attack on the village and a teddy bear being dropped so I assume you mean further into the soviet missions the movies are wrong?

The thing I got with RA1 was when playing first time it decided to force me into a soviet campaign lol I didnt get a choice :P

Same happens with the original 2 CD version! I just blew the dust off the box and tried it, it must be part of the intro/story!

I think it is like you are forced to play as Soviet atleast the first mission.

About TFD pack and movies in RA1. Yes the first one seem to be correct but from what I've heard it gets to the wrong movies when the actual campaign starts. Haven't played as much as I wanted to yet. :(

The crack pack on Gamecopyworld is not ideal, you'd be better off making a full image if - that does work.

You are not forced to play as the soviets in Red Alert, you just abort the mission and then you can choose allies\soviets at proper options menu, its only like this when you first play it.

The crack pack WILL crash each and every game\cause serious anomalies at certain points, and because your using the old EXE files, is not XP compatable - it will work for some but not for others - its not just "if it launches then it works" - the updated xp bits were for crashes that would occur later on in the game.

No offense but your all barking up the wrong tree if you think this collection of cracks is gonna sort you out.

Not only that, but it will discourage real crackers from releasing a proper crack if you lot are all happy with this one.

So that's the 'XP compatibility' EA are talking about, and the problems reported were with the games that didn't need cracks or the DVD to run!

The original Generals/Zero Hour are XP Compatible anyway, it says so on EA's product pages for them! As for crashes etc, not forced to be the cracks it could be video drivers, sound drivers, having Anti Virus programs running so unless you can provide actual CODE examples of what they changed to make it 'XP Compatible' that's just a statement not a fact! And you don't need a MINI IMAGE for all the games, only Tiberian Sun, Yuris Revenege and Generals/Zero Hour.

Have you ever considered the possibility the crackers have not released cracks for this because they too are finding the original cracks are working?

Time will tell if enough people play with these cracks and report back if they work or not, and for me they are working so far!

I think you are totally wrong here. If you read the thread you will see that BarryB has discovered that the .exe files has not been updated, check the links I posted a moment ago and you will see that nothing really has been changed only that Compatibility mode has been set.
Also if you READ the entire thread you will see that gameplay testing is happening as people do play the games and will report about problems.

Discouraging crackers? I think not. Why? Because any real scene release of either a proper crack pack or a cracked release will render scene points for the group that does it. It's Safedisc 4.60 so that will give 'points' and such a big release will also give 'points'.

I think you should do the following:
1. read the thread
2. play the games with the cracks and see if it crashes or not
3. make the image and upload it to GCW if it works and is made the easily
4. think a bit before writing anything

Hope I didn't cause any offense - none intended and sorry for appearing arrogant if I did :)

I guess what I'm saying is, if you've got the disc space then its prolly best to make a full image of it as opposed to cracking each exe file, as there does seem like its not quite 100%.

No problem robo, I understand what you say about the cracks.

It appears all EA have done is just wrap those EXE's that had Safedisc originally in the latest Safedisc version and maybe remove some CD checks too. A mini or full image would also be a good way of testing in case someone does get problems. You could then just mount the mini/full image, replace the cracks with the original files and test to see if you get the same problems as with the cracks, then you would know if it's a crack problem.

As for the little create full image thingie... I have tried but it didn't work for me. :(
Tiberian Sun, Generals, Zero Hour and Yuri's revenge asks me to insert DVD with the image mounted, DT 4.03 and no emulation and no blockers.

Generals and Zero Hour starts with all emu on plus SD4Hide! but starting them takes forever.

check this thread to see whats been tested more than whats in this thread. Of course some people will be 100% able to play the game with just an image but I am not. Therefore the cracksearch begun... :D

These are the 'real deal'. The only problem is Yuris Revenge still asks for the CD, so you can either keep the DVD inserted or use the cracked gamemd.exe from the crack pack I sent to GCW!

They cracked all the Safedisc files on the original DVD, not collected cracked files from the CD versions like I did :)
