so why 98se?

Hey guys,

Windows 98SE supports WDM-style drivers. Many pieces of optional hardware have WDM-style drivers only, not the old VXD-style ones. E.g. I would be unable to use my Sound Blaster Audigy 2 under Windows 98 (Gold Edition), only XP... :( (Therefore, I use the SB Audigy 1 instead and keep the 2 on the shelf, unused... :D )

but doesnt win98se take away the ability to boot into DOS (ver. windows)? or was that ME?
