Thanks first for the file Shadow. But I must say, it´s the same mini-image like this from dede1. It works fine but not with version 1.3. Therefor you have to disable your drives with Starforce Nightmare and not with StarfucI<! And forget to send to GCW, the key will be removed as soon.

I've been mucking around with this starforce nightmare thingy in an abortive attempt to get this game running, and now my dvd drive has vanished from windows explorer. I can see it in control panel with a little yellow exclamation mark. Drivers loaded but hardware not found it says in the 'general' tab of 'properties'. Has anyone else had this? Had do i get my drive back, i've clicked every activate button in starforce nightmare at least a dozen times and rebooted but to no avail??

Its ok i found a solution. Anyone else who finds Starforce Nightmare makes off with their cd drives for longer than anticipated (code 41) should read this.

Got my drive back but still cant get the stupid game to run, (even after re-hiding the cd drive). I guess things dont look good for Silent Hunter 3 in the short term either.

Tip, do not use 'disable cd' in SFN, instead selectively disable drives with the other buttons to prevent the problem I (and others) encountered. It may not help the game run but it'll prevent the need for registry surgery.

the game even not starts...

I only used starforce nightmare and load the mini image(so far everything is ok) now the game want to know the key of gtr_cd1 - so i typed in the key included in the ***.txt but it dont work the game always say that the key isnt correct :confused: :confused: :confused:

what can i do ???

If you type the key from your Original in that field for a somewhere downloaded Mini-Image it doesn´t work. We have described the Problem more than enough in this thread. Your own key will only work with a good Mini-Image from your own Originaldisc.

i dont used the key from the original cd i used the key from the key.txt !!!

Have you copied the key or typed?

I have tried the method described on post #24 exactly several times and I always get an error after the disc checking that says Try in another drive. I got the game to launch one time but have been unsuccessful for a few days since then. Any idea what I can do to reset the whole process and try again?

If the discribed method don't work for you, play the game with your original cd!
You all are trying to get this method to work for a so long time. Have you ever thinked how long you have could already played the game, instead of messing around with the registry and the CD/DVD drives.
