I have several Plextors, including 24/10/40 models, and I can say for a fact that, at least, these Plex's DO make 1:1 copies of SD 2.51.021. All my 24/10/40 Plex's with TLA# 0202 and F/W 1.03 WILL do 1:1 copies of SD 2.51.021+ that install and play in OTHER CD-ROM readers, I have tried the 1:1 copies in over half a dozen different readers and they all work fine, some are cheap and old readers, as well as, newer and more expensive.

Example of Tested Readers:
08x Creative
32x Teac
32x Teac (SCSI)
40x iomagic
48x Sony
50x Sony
52x Digital Research
40x Plextor

The 1:1 copies have been achieved withOUT the aid of AWS, BetaBlocker or alike. The 1:1 copies have been done BOTH using a 3rd party reader AND using the Plex to do the reading and writing, as well. Both methods have produced true 1:1 copies.

The titles were tested and confirmed to have SD2 protection using various utils such as Clony, Yaps, etc, as well as, visual inspection of the Disc contents and verified as v2.51.021 with SafeDisc Analyser.

The settings used with CloneCD (v3341) were as follows:

Read: FES, x4, 3 Tries, None (software setting will also work)
Write: x4,
All other settings at DEFAULT.

BTW, I have not tested the new Plex 40/12/40, so I do NOT know if the above is applicable to it, as well. Also, I have NOT tested with the CloneCD 4 betas.

why did you give grief over me being able to copy sd2.51 with my plex 24x when this guy posted back then that he was able to do it , you ranted and raved it was not possible and so on and that i was the only one who claimed to have success but here is someone else and you were aware of this post since you posted here yourself .

This guy gave clear, concise information on what settings he used, the hardware, and the results. He gives information such as TLA#, firmware etc. He stated all these clearly to give us an insight into what his Plex has achieved. We accept this information take it on board and move on as the few replies after his posts show.
With the other topic in the other forum with you, you repeat your point over and over, and there just is no point. You don't take it into the depth that this guy has taken it.

You either think the plex 24x can or cannot copy sd2.51 without the use of beta blocker . Make your mind up as you did say you would not believe it unless someone else posted with same results , well here you are and its not cougeruk (who is one of my alias's) , lol , yeah right .

I'm not saying I believe his findings. But I'm not saying I don't believe them. We will take his findings on board and draw up our own conclusions based on the evidence that is there.

so could i ask you what your conclusion actually is , do you believe him or not .

Based on the total evidence I have got to date, I conclude that the Plex 24X cannot copy SD2.51 without modifcation by Betablocker etc. Until more conclusive evidence that it can copy it appears, that will be my conclusion.
