In recompressor.exe you have the possibility to select your language
-> other languages will be deleted

You need at least 20 GB free space.

1. Create a temp folder with the name "DVD1" (the name is really important, leave it like that) and copy the contents of the second DVD to this folder

2. Now move the contents of the first DVD to the "DVD1" folder too and overwrite

3. Download the Attachment and extract it to "DVD1" folder too and overwrite

4. Start recompressor.exe and wait (could take one hour)

5. After recompressor.exe is finished, delete recompressor.exe and burn the temp folder DVD1 and created folder DVD2 with any label

END SIZE:

DVD1: 3,84 GB
DVD2: 4,22 GB

FINISHED!!!:D:D:D

Here is the pic of the extractor:

PS: Use UDF format to burn.

1.1 New Attachment-> fixed spanish problem (before 540 Download)
1.2 New Attachment-> Now Supports MULTI 3 Conversion (before 205 Downloads)

Thank you yener90, easy conversion and that's work 100% fine !

I have a question, how do you create recompress.exe ? i like your method and i will use this method to convert other games.

yener90 20-02-2010 14:34

unfortunately you cant use it.
recompresssor.exe is a command file (BAT File)
nothing special.
It only works with this game.

DJSUB 20-02-2010 22:13

thanks for the hardwork buddy!
the conversion is very fast on my system it only takes 24mins to finish :D

DVD1 = 3.88 GB
DVD2 = 3.68 GB
with the latest DXredist Feb 2010 included

works flawlessly! :D

deepak 22-02-2010 06:24

conversion works great

just installed the game and it started perfectly. Thanks

eqagunn 06-05-2010 10:39

Conversion by yener90 from the first post works great.
I chose English for my language.

Sizes are as following:
DVD1 - 3.86 GB
DVD2 - 3.66 GB

From 14.29 GB to 7.53 GB, really nice compression.

Thank you. :)

joder666 10-05-2010 19:45

yener90's help me here please:

I followed step by step your conversion everything all right, until i mounted the iso and the outrun chowed is in spanish and asking me to insert the dvd 1. I choose english for the language at the end of the conversion.

I've checked the other solutions you posted and none work, what am i doing wrong?

yener90 12-05-2010 14:16

dont understand exactly the problem.
could you make a screenshot??

joder666 13-05-2010 12:38

I've resolve the problem, it works ok now, thanks for the attention mate.

carra1905 18-09-2010 09:58

brucehaslam 24-09-2010 22:47

mine dvd 2 got 3,66gb thats ok or i do something wrong?

murgasat 11-10-2010 06:30

After recompressor I have DVD1 folder size 12.7GB and DVD2 3.90GB.
What did I do wrong. I copied the contents of the second dvd to DVD1 folder, moved the contents of the first dvd to DVD1 folder, unpacked Mass_Effect_2_2xDVD9_to_2xDVD5 the DVD1 and started recompressor. At the end of selected English language. When it was over I got the folders listed size.

voodoo_nbgd 26-10-2010 03:29

Works fine MULTI5 -> English.

kamatbab 27-10-2010 23:29

aldemaza 11-04-2011 05:12

now if i wanted all in a dvd9
it would be sufficient join the two disc ?

yener90 11-04-2011 07:04

it should work without any problems.
delete on dvd2 autorun.inf then copy all files to dvd1.

aldemaza 11-04-2011 07:44

just done !
works fine

killer7 18-10-2011 20:38

i dont know what the version is just Multi5 how can i know ?

HellRazor 21-10-2012 11:54

Would it be possible to create a custom installer for this game?
ME2 + Updates + All DLCs

I know that size of all DLCs is around 5GBs and that would extend the size of the game to 3xDVD5's but it does not matter...

I am prone to deinstalling the game every time I need extra space and reinstalling it back when I am finished. I am tired of re-installing all addons all over again.

REV0 21-10-2012 12:35

Wait until 6th, i already finished conversions of ME1, ME2, ME3 which all will be compatible with Trilogy edition, expect a release in 6th november

Well that's the thing. From what I can see, Mass Effect Trilogy is gonna have less content than Original Versions. If you check the info on their website, you will see that several DLCs are excluded from the final package.

I already backed up the first and third installmentss with their DLCs on 2xDVD5s, and 3xDVD5s (respectfully) and this one (second game) still sits on it's DVD9's + 5GB of DLCs sitting on my hard drive for over a year now.

If I decide to get the Trilogy, I will be getting less content (in which I can use DLCs already in possession) but on the other side, I would be forced to burn the backups on 4-6 new DVDs (depending on size of the game and compression used) leaving my already burned games to lay to waste.
Trilogy is (in 90% of the cases) basically meant for people that never played the game and this way they are offering "All in One" package for somewhat less price than you would pay if you were buying all 3 separately.

Not to mention that, even if I get to the point where I want to play one of those games, I will be forced to install all 3 of them and not only one.
So, sorry to say it like that but, no thanks. I don't like wasting perfectly good disks.

I could try to "reverse engineer" ME3 conversion to work with ME2+DLCs but it would probably take some time because the lack of time and because I wouldn't know how to set up registry entries if there are any because I am not that skilled with registry crap.

I am not asking for anything fancy. Just a classic installation with maybe few pictures changing in background. That's all.

Trilogy is a waster of money. It's good for PS3 users because it'll be ME1 included, so PS3 fellas can play it. Otherwise, if you have other games already buying it is useless. That's why we exist.

Like i said, regkeys and all other stuff is done and i'm making small fixes, i can even release conversions before 6th november.

Cheers

I'm actually waiting yener's update about 'Browse DVD', 'Manual' buttons for autorun screen, with it i can add OST and other stuff on autorun, so it'll look like 'more' original.

HellRazor 22-10-2012 13:31

Wait... Did I misunderstood you here?

Did you write about Trilogy conversion here or about 3 separate installers for all 3 games separately?

Trilogy will come as 3 separate installers;

ME1 - With Bring Down the Sky and Pinacle Station

ME2 - With important DLCs, excluding weapons and such

ME3 - Without anything

So, i made 4 conversions;

1 for ME1, 1 for ME2, 1 for ME3 again, and 1 for all 3, this will be DVD9 sized conversion because we're talking about 40GB sized game collection.

The collection one will be selectible installation, means you will select which games you want to install during installation.

Logically, all conversions will be compatible with Trilogy edition since it's actually the same games with more stuff inside.

Will I be able to include those "excluded DLCs (weapons and such)" into the conversion I am aiming to get? (ME2 + Update + ALL 23 DLCs)

Sorry for repeating the questions. Just trying to get the clear image.

You'll install the DLCs you want then apply the conversion, so yes
