It would really be nice, when this news about the Splinter Cell 3 Chaos Theory crack is true!
I already looked into other forums, until now noone can confirm that.
'caki' actually only wrote about there being a Splinter Cell 3 crack as a joke. Note the release date of the said crack!

He was merely stating that without a link to prove the file actually exists, it is pointless to say there is a crack!
It was a response to Kenny2k's post:

enough proof?
So there is no Splinter Cell 3 crack! ;)

I've been waiting with baited breath for a fixed No-DVD EXE for version 1.1 (SecuROM being excrutiatingly slow and 1.0 having the bug with control definitions), but unfortunately on my computer Deviance's 1.1 fixed EXE crashes every time I fire the grappling hook at something hookable, or even look at a hookable object in manual aim mode!

If it makes any sense, the error seems to occur at 0x001729a9 (according to Event Viewer). And yes, I'd previously patched the game to 1.1 ;)

mrmagoodood 23-04-2006 09:32

i'm having the same issue as dave-ros, whenever i fire the grappling hook at something the game crashes to desktop. does anyone know how to get around this? or has anyone figured out how to make the game work using curerom 2.

TRV 23-04-2006 09:46

Same here

Muyfa666 23-04-2006 10:11

Crashes here too. Obviously the crack doesn't work properly. Too bad.

Securom_Loader 1.2 has already been released for DT customers; it will only take a few days until it goes public :)

imamofo 24-04-2006 06:16

Thank you everybody!
You all have been such an amazing help with this frustration. Finally I got it to work. Thank god for Tom Kellers post. :)

I am unable to run Tomb Raider - Legend v1.1 on 2 out of the 3 computers in my house. Using v1.0 is not an option because 1.1 is what came on the disc. I've tried using the original disc, both mini-images, the maxi-image, an image I made myself, DT 4.03, alkiSecuRom, cureRom 1.3, cureRom2.0, the 1.0 fixed exe and the 1.1 fixed exe. I have even tried disabling my dvd-rom drives. I have not tried physically unplugging them as that does not seem like a viable solution to me.

The 1.1 fixed exe is the only thing that would even get the game to run, but as others have pointed out it crashes when you attempt to use the grappling hook.

What are the chances of a fixed fixed exe being released?

On my main computer, even the fixed exe still crashed. What I had to do was copy hid.dll from the working computer's c:\windows\system32 directory and put it in my tomb raider directory. This particular issue probably has something to do with my unusual game controller configuration.

xavizzz 24-04-2006 18:50

same ... crashes when use the grappling hook.

:-(

Yes, same problem.

roylion15 25-04-2006 14:21

yes same thing !
the fixed eXe 1.1 no DVD don't run correctly , crashes with grappling hook !
but the original 1.1 exe works with with the mini image and the "alkisecurom" loader on my system (intel p4 cpu) without any bug ...

Muyfa666 26-04-2006 12:58

herny 27-04-2006 06:29

Ok,working fine now ....:)

bye herny

Dave-ros 27-04-2006 14:11

Excellent news -- but since the file's got the exact same size and date as the previous copy, I take it the problem was down to file corruption at the Rar-ing stage?

Yay, I can play it without SecuROM taking ages, and stopping my animated cursors from animating! \o/

No. As DEViANCE stated in their NFO:
Code:

Repack notes:
We forgot to remove a securom check. Sorry for the inconvenience.

So (as far as i know) changing some code do not necessarily change the file date. And the file size has to be exactly the same (cause this has something to do with internal crc checkings)...

angel-TDw! 27-04-2006 21:25

patching a file is merely changing the code int he file.... or some bytes..

so no file size change takes place......

if its unpacking, then only file size change takes place......

if u compare both the files with hex editor, then u can find the difference

in both the files,,,,,,

thanx

angel
