Totally on your side for that.
Plus, it's fun to see how laws tend to be contradictive of other laws.
Ommpf, sorry for that syntax, my native language IS french after all! (And no I'm not from France, just to avoid some kind of debate on this!)

It's nice to have some additionnal info on the license regulations though.
One last thing, I read the license agreement, and nowhere it says I only have the right to install it on only one computer. So we have to know by definition that you're allowed just one licensed.

With all those contracts, there should be a law course included with high school! Would make it so much easier on the brain

The only way for playing is to use the .MDS file included in the mini-image zip file (.MDS is the DPM or RMPS file) and the .MDF of the game (4.15 Gb), and burning it with Alcohol (latest version) enabling RMPS writing at 1x on any dvd media, and then putting copied dvd into any DVD-ROM SCSI or USB2.0 (I suggest to use any ide to usb 2.0 converter or external box).

I hope this could solve any issue.

Hi italian friend :D

I've tried to burn the mini-image .MDS together the mini-image .MDF at 2,4 write speed with rmps option, but it doesn't work. How can I burn the mini-image .MDS together the image .MDF of the game?

Hi

Niko76 09-04-2005 03:56

You must only use .MDS from the mini image file (MDS size is 32 kb) with the MDF image (4.15 Gb). You should obtain 2 files named SCCT:

SCCT.MDS (32 kbytes)
SCCT.MDF (4.15 Gbytes)

Then, burn image from Alcohol's menu and select RMPS option before burning.

For playing, disable any cd/dvd ide peripherals and use a DVD-ROM SCSI or USB2.0 (with an external box or a ide to usb2.0 converter).

I have a mini-image file .mds of 38kB  Why?

EDIT1: from property of the mds file --> 38222 bytes

EDIT2: I burned and I have a dvd with dummy files...Boh..

Hello,

i tried to crack the game yesterday with this "mini-image" from GCW ... it doesn't work.

Then i read the posts in this thread any got some solutions.
In every solution i have to put the burned image into a USB 2.0 drive, but i still havn't one and i won't buy me one.
so my Question: Does it work with a simple DVD-Rom drive or a DVD-Writer?

I have to whole program tools and i can take the drives off with SF Nightmare!!!

Just making some things clear...

Damn, this is only the first day I'm following the SCCT Starforce problems, and this must be the 69th time someone askes if there currently is a no-dvd, mini-images or SF Nightmare solution.

Well there isn't!!!!

The only solution at this point is running the game from an external USB 2.0 HD, SCSI HD or an IDE to USB2.0 adapter (There only about 12$/10€, buying a new game cause your original got broken costs much more)

If someone finds a WORKING solution apart from these, feel free to share. All the others, stop asking about it.

Thanks in advance

Sorry for double post...

On the megagames forum somebody claims to be working on a patched exe (don't think I believe it, but I just wanted to share...)

Wath about USB 1 ?

Wath about USB 1 ?

solidus1337 09-04-2005 06:06

I guess theoretically USB 1.0/1.1 will work too...

If splinter cell doesn't read much from the dvd, it will actually be playable, but you must remind USB1 is very, very slow compared to USB2.

I don't know if chaos theory uses the dvd a lot, if it does, I'm afraid it will be unplayable with USB1.

Dougie1189 09-04-2005 06:25

You know how to force Alcohol to burn 1 X ? I get 4.0 X and 8.0 X

solidus1337 09-04-2005 07:03

I can just select it in the drop-down menu...

if you've already put the empty dvd in your drive, it may be the media
try selecting the speed without media in your drive or with a dvd of another brand

that's the only clue I have...

Is there anybody who have succed to play the game with the image of gamecopyworld??

MasterYoda34 11-05-2005 12:45

I doubt it because Star Force seems to be blacklisting Daemon Tools.(And I'm sure Alcohol also).

Luci 11-05-2005 12:48

@jakie7

nope image doesn't work

SCCT: crack still in the works?

Ok first post...

I realize this thread has been going on for awhile but there still seems to be a few unclear things to me. I own a legally purchased copy of SCCT with the case and all just clear up any questions about that! It is my intent to create a no-cd crack like the rest of you, however, it seems like everyone's solutions require you to burn the image to a cd...defeating my purpose. Now I don't know everything about this topic but I am learning quickly.

First off I am using the US version of the game and I already have it loaded on my computer so I can still play while trying to figure this out. My first step was to use ALC120% to create a MDF/MDS of the game. I set DPM count to high and my CD/DVD burning drive only reads at 1x so I think thats ok. I did read in the help file though that setting DPM count to normal creates a better image.

Second I used SFNightmarre to disable my cd drive and node. Now I don't know if I should disable anything else. I've read the english read-me file but I don't know what each little enable/disable function corresponds to (except ATA which obviously was a bad choice :p ). When I do that it successfully disables my CD drive like intended.

Third (and this is where I have trouble)...I used DAEMON Tools to create a virtual drive and mounted my MDS file on it. The first part of the game loads just like it would from the CD but then while checking the CD it brings up the following error: "The Disc Key you entered does not correspond to the disc in the drive. Make sure you use the correct Disc Key." I've seen this error earlier on in the forums but why does it come up?? When I check for information on the error is brings up the error code and the Disc Key that I entered when I first loaded/patched the game. I thought it might have to with the fact that I have a program file of the game on my HD but I don't see how that would affect the error. And if the MDF/MDS is a true 1:1 copy of the cd why doesn't it ever ask me to input my cd key (or does ALC120% build that step into its imaging)? I've tried many ways of mounting the image on different virtual drives including using the one in ALC120% itself but no success. I have also set virtual drives in ALC120% to 0 so that I only had one operational "virtual" drive coming from DAEMON tools and vice versa.

On another note I read earlier in the forums as well that you should create and MDF/MDS file of the game without any DPM count but when I do this and mount it as in steps 2/3 it comes up with an error like "please place the cd in another drive"...or something to that effect. Since I'm not exactly sure what DPM count is I don't know why this error would come up. So in addition to all my other questions :( why are virtual drives blocked by SF3 and how does it determine that they are virtual? What prevents you from mounting the image directly to the actual installed CD drive on your computer?

Yea its long but I think that about covers everything!!
