I'm planning on getting the Steam version of Bioshock. How many activations will I be allowed? What are even the rules for activation?

Then you can make an informed decision.

Also, the Steam version has both Steam and Securerom protection. I believe you might now have 5 activations from Securerom, although it was only two before (but don't quote me on that).

well, try the steam guys first i guess, or send a nice email to the securom people
uk release was only activated today afaik, so could be teething problems / bad timing..

Yep, tried again this morning and works flawlessly on my computer, and my bro got his version too, and its working nicely. I guess it was a temporary issue :)

They cracked the activation process on Steam

Now we need only someone who's able to crack the SecuROM 7 protection.

there are activation cracks? somehow i doubt it, cos the game hasn't been pirated yet (?), the only things i saw about were fake cracks, trojans etc...

Well I got the games installed and activated on all 30 of our computers at my lan center and works flawlesly, we just need a no dvd crack. An image would be the best but hell even a fixed .exe would protect our original disks.

You bought 30 copies??
