Ok,
I got this working last night.

I mounted the image in Alcohol 120%, then ran Virtual_cd_hide
which can be obtained from gamecopyworld. Just right click on the system tray icon and enable virtual_cd_hide.
Now run your shortcut to the executable.

Give that a try. It worked great for me :)

Just went over to a friend who has the original of this game CD Version. I have DVD Version. His copy wont work lol. GJ safedisc, really GJ. This is max protection, where the real game wont work even :P

Just went to the 2k games website. Their support button doesnt work, and when I call their phone I get a sexy woman telling me the number doesnt exist.

i had that happen a while back with one of my games.....

I guess this doesn't help you any because i was using the original disc and the menu didn't have words on it. After i updated my video card drivers, the game worked fine. There's a funny thing with those vid card drivers. to completely remove all traces of the old drivers, you have to do more than uninstall the old drivers and install the new ones.. bits of data in the registry and directory that the drivers are installed to can interfere with smooth running of the game.... there are programs or instructions on how to completely remove vid drivers on some other sites. i won't list them here, but a google search of "video card driver cleaner" may help you out. That could be the problem, or maybe not. it's worth a try.

dude that's one of the things I can't stand! I mean if you UPDATE your drivers that should simply be UPDATING your drivers and not UNINSTALLING RESTARTING REINSTALLING RESTARTING!! I mean come on!!!!! I just want ot play a game not get a headeache Cause Mr.IWANTTOMAKEITASHARDASPOSSIBLE TOEVEN PLAY THE GAME! so you can all worship me!

meh I just got home from a party! but still it stands that's just redicilious you have to uninstal reinstall reboot twice and cross you're fingers for it to work!

ok so i got the game up and running on my pops machine with alcohol120 and scandisk 4 (no-cd). he has a 2.0ghz processor and 256mb ram. however, it runs exteeeemly slow so i tried running it on my machine (2.7ghz, 512mb) and it is still running slow. is this a memory problem? would a dvd make it run any faster? thanks in advance.

there is also a glitch where none of the faces show up, just eyes and a mouth floating around.

Try with original DVD; run Windows update, update motherboard/chipset/audio/video drivers, contact publisher etc.

ok i bought the game and installed it on my toshiba m10 laptop, but the problem is that the game runs amazingly (i am using the no-dvd fix with diskhider and daemon) through the menu and everything, but when the screen loads the game, the environment appears fine (trees, mountains and resources, not water) but everything else is black, there is no lag of what so ever, it runs fast. Ihave no clue as to how to solve it! did it happen to anyone else!
