I finaly yesterday got to test this on my dads system and could not get it to work unfortinately. This is what brought me to the conclusion that it must be somthing with the raid. everything else is the same except thr raid. my fathers bord does support raid so if i may plug two old hard drives in and place the cd image on it and see if it works. hopefully this week maybe.

Hi,

I got the same problem all the time.. damm it! :mad:

But the thought the the game will be cracked in a matter of days comforts me :rolleyes:

Is there a game that contains the same or a similar protection system that is already been cracked??

pknig 31-05-2005 12:08

many,
for example gtr, xrally, dtm2...
but they got older versions

Why do you think that?

Shodo 01-06-2005 00:26

@MasterYoda34

Coz there is no copy protection that can't be fooled, and so many skilled people are working on it!

Last but not least there do exist games with the same protection system and they have been cracked. "Pknig" mentioned a few examples above.

@VH14a
When you mounted the game in Daemon Tools did you use any emulation options or not?

VH14a 02-06-2005 09:09

no I didn't need any.

tdbone1 02-06-2005 16:59

Dumilex 03-06-2005 13:29

don't hate starforce cause u can get it to work, they did they job: certify that only who bought the game plays... and if is necessary, thoes too. :)
Anyway i have being reading many threads and it doens't look like the is a trusted way to play SCCT.
Remenber a lot of love!

It is possible to play with a USB 2.0 drive. But Starforce would still be installed on your system.

I don't think many people would complain if Starforce wasn't basically a virus that is installed covertly and in many cases interferes with other software and hardware. Up until recently they didn't even want to give out an uninstaller. What is that? That's the behavior of malware and is technically illegal in the US, and probably other countries as well.

People need to complain to publishers, and they need to boycott software that utilizes schemes like Starforce if it comes down to it, otherwise it's just going to keep getting worse until you won't really have control over your PC, it'll be more like something you rent than own; with a dozen publishers spying on you while you use it!

After trawling the splinter cell 3 threads hard, it seems pretty conclusive that noone is going to be playing off their backups anytime soon. Which makes me wonder why so many ppl post saying THIS DOESNT WORK! which has already been amply established. Perhaps the right thing to do would only be to post if it DOES work for you, instead of filling the boards with disgusting salty spam in a can.

PS - it didnt work for me :P

MasterYoda34 05-06-2005 07:29

If you would have read the thread you would have saw that VH14a did say that he/she had it working from an image with Daemon tools. Though addition posts, that you call spam, we have concluded that it is most likely something to do with RAID. And besides, this is a discussion board, we are supposed to talk about things like this here.

Hello, fellas.
I'm new around, but I've had my shots with SC3.
I was wondering if someone has seen what I saw...
After mounting the mini-image, I run the game and then a window shows up asking for a certain "disk key" to be inserted. If I had that damn code...
Anyway, have you guys ever seen it?

Don't ask for serials/CD keys; read forum rule #2!
