Allright, you respect the manufacterer we sale unacheved crap, and i support the cracker we have make a excellent crack, is unacceptable that many poeple say the crack isn't ok. with and multiple bugged game!

Jedo 26-05-2005 09:35

I get that Exception error one of a sudden :S majority of my savegames don't work anymore. Before everything worked fine but now it seems after a certain time deadline all further savegames become corrupt. :S

malik22 26-05-2005 09:39

Did you install the new patch Jedo?

Jedo 26-05-2005 09:44

Downloaded and installed...the old no-cd works with it although I you never know for sure. The problem continues. Í'm now stuck at the place where he has to go to an abandoned factory. Can someone who pases the game first with only the main quest done plz post their savegame somewhere? :)

dede 26-05-2005 11:20

Some gamez work fine after update 1.1, with 1.0 cracks but not each, in some updates the modifications are effectued on the EXE file & you need a updated crack to benefit the updated things. its simple use your update with original CD or image without a crack & look if the game work bether. :D

^^^ above link has changelog of the first patch too ^^^

I think people should at least give some respect to the developers. It's like their first or second game, they did a huge amount of work to create such a vast game with a list of features that could take me two nights to write, and people are complaining about the bugs from the first day.

Yes, there are bugs, but the game itself (at least in my opinion) has made me worry very little about them. Check out the FAQ and you should be able to avoid most of them until they're fixed.

If you want to help them with creating a patch, you shouldn't be calling names and complaining. You should be REPORTING bugs, and asking kindly for a patch. They've already created a US patch, and it won't be long since we get the EU one.

So just be patient, and stop the blabbering.

If you can't enjoy the game for what it is, don't play it!

if you'd bought a car and there was one seat missing and the radio only played the worst station in your area and it only had 3 wheels instead of 4 you'd be miffed wouldn't you ?

it'd mean you could still drive albeit on 3 wheels ,so not too good in the handling department, you'd still be able to listen to a radio station ,albeit the crappiest one around, and ..oh .. thats what the drivers seat was for..

don't come in hear with your more posts than you rubbish and automatically assume we're 12 year olds.
what we posted above was confusion with a bit of sarcasm...how can you release a patch for a game thats not out yet ?

thats a bit like the egg before the chicken..

oh i do have respect but not much, where was the play testing ?
you'd soon complain if you went to the cinema but could only hear the sound if you looked at the back wall...

come on,how could they have missed that ?

good game but shouldn't have been released for a long time yet.

DABhand 27-05-2005 02:18

Why do people think they become Game experts all of a sudden.

The game would have been running on test machines during QA times. The fact is people have all different types of specs of pc's you cant Please 100% of the people.

Name one game, just one game, where everyone bought a game and it worked for everyone (PC not console).

DarkLeftos 27-05-2005 03:06

@Chunter:

I, personally, wouldn't expect a company that had just made its first car to actually get it working without any problems. I would be thinking about it, and I'd be taking a risk.

I didn't call names at anybody, neither did I assume anyone was 12 years old. I even searched the internet and provided support links for all the people like yourself who have problems with the game. But you can't even say thank you, you just go on to judge me.

This is software, and being a developer myself too, I know that no matter how much you test it and how many rigs you've tested it on, there's always gonna be bugs. Trust me, the first version of my program had quite some bugs, and that was due to my lack of experience. If I got people saying "Hey, your program sucks, it's full of bugs, I'm gonna delete it and then wipe it off my hard disk" I would just give up. But I got "hey, quite some work you put on the program, but i've noticed there are some bugs, here is what I found" and that is what kept me going. Just think of yourself as a developer. What would be better?

Those developers actually tried hard, and although their game has bugs, from their first day they're working on ways to fix them. I know it's ironic that the US patch is released while there is no US release, but I'm being patient.

So, next time you buy a car from a company new to the automobile section, wait for a reliable magazine to test drive it, or ask your friends about it BEFORE buying it, if you're NOT feeling risky.

Translated into software terms, next time you buy a game from a company (see DeepShadows) which has quite little experience in the sector, read some reviews first, browse through some forums, get an opinion from here and there, and THEN buy it.

I actually KNEW about the bugs before buying the game, but a game with such features as Boiling Point, was a risk worth taking. And trust me, with its bugs and its lag, it's still pretty enjoyable, and it's gonna be even more enjoyable in a few days.

That's MY opinion, I'm not flaming or criticizing anybody.

And I'd like to remind everyone of FarCry... How many patches are out up to now? Are there still bugs? How long has it been out? How many compatibility problems were there? Heck, I had a high-end computer for its standards at the time, and the game was hardly playable! I had to search the web, browse through hundreds of topics, to make the game playable.

But, lesson learned, I've been quite cautious since then.

@DabHand:

Thanks for the support. I've just added one more point to yours by mentioning FarCry above.
